They charged us for an extra day. They claimed we brought our uhaul back late when in fact we dropped it off the night before we were supposed to bring it. They also charged us a fuel fee of $30 and for $17 of gas, even though we put the gas back (actually we went a little over what it was supposed to be) but still they claimed it wasn't right. My fiancÃ© called and complained and the lady got rude with him. She ended up giving us back the money for the extra day but said she wasn't going to go and check if the gas was incorrect too because she trusts the workers she has. The same workers that claimed we dropped our uhaul off at the whole wrong time and day. And the damn uhaul we had sounded like it was about to break. The engine was having some trouble just going 25mph. And the oil was empty and the tires were low and needed air. Oh and if that's not enough the passenger door wouldn't close all the way either. All and all find a different uhaul place.Shea F.

Allow a different drop off location. I live 20 miles from where I had to bring the vehicle back to. There is a uhaul station in the town I live in but I was not allowed to drop it off there meaning I got charged for an xtra 20 miles. Clean your vehicles properly. When I got the truck there was cigarette ash on the door and the truck smelt overwhelming of cigarette smoke. I had to deal with a migraine the entire time I had the vehicle because I have a high sensitivity to this smell. Offer a different vehicle when the customer tells you the one they've been given is dirty or smells bad. I mentioned the smoke and ash to a customer representative on sight and they did nothing. There was another truck right behind the one I was given, why couldn't I have been offered that one? Have the vehicles ready with a full tank of gas. The one I was given was right above the empty mark so I had to stop and fill up before I could actually leave to pick up my items increasing the amount of time I had the vehicle. Make your employees do their job. There were two people sitting at the desk when I went to drop the truck off but only one was working. The other was just sitting in the chair watching. I had to wait almost 10 minutes just to drop the vehicle off. Overall, this was a crap experience and I wouldn't recommend uhual to anyone.Jessica P.

I booked the truck and the storage unit over the phone with a customer service representative. My husband's sister passed away and we had to clean out her apt and bring everything to storage. We get there and the person at front desk said I hate to inform you but we don't reserve storage units and the representatives work from home and they don't know that. At this point it's 6 pm and we have no idea if we can even get a storage unit and we have no place to put the stuff. Thank god we found one because all storage units were closed Sunday. As a business, you all need to make sure all your representatives know that you all don't reserve storage units.Sabrina H.

This location has inexperienced, but friendly people. They didn't notice one of the trailers had balding tires, which could be a problem on a long trip with a loaded trailer. Also, the trailers were old and ran down. I rented the same trailer a month earlier and everything including the employees were excellent. I'm sure once their new hires get up to speed with the job, they will be rated excellent. I would still recommend this location to a friend.Anthony R.

I did not get the truck I reserved. I reserved a 15' truck and they could not find the keys to the truck so I ended up with a 10' truck. Still paid the same amount. Had to leave a few items behind that I will have to get at a later date.Anthony C.
Everything was fine until I needed to verify my account. The code that was sent to my email did not work. Trued to get a new code sent and it would not send me another email at all. I call customer service and was told everything looked fine on there end and I shouldn't have any problems picking up the truck. Once I went to pick up the truck I couldn't log into my account, said my password was wrong. Couldn't change my password most likely because I was never able to verify my account. Had to call customer service again for them to fix everything. I wasn't able to do anything online by myself. I just wish when I called customer service the first time they would have verified my account like I asked so I didn't have issues picking up the truck. insure the proper maintenance is done on the trailers. My trailer (5 x 8) was an older model than what I am used to getting. Rust was apparent on most all non aluminum parts and while driving, the right tire/assembly literally fell the trailer leaving only the spindle and part of the bearing. The trailer had to be towed away to a new uhaul store, swap the contents into a replacement trailer and get going again. I lost 4 hours travel that day with no compensation of any type. Poor maintenance allowed for that accident. Everyone was lucky that no one was injured as the tire went shooting forward in traffic for 100 yards before coming to rest.Marcia M.

On the billing furniture pads pricing is confusing. Also we had rented 1 dozen pads and did not use them and tried to return them that day and would not take them back. But overall really good rentals and will getting another in a few weeksJeffrey G.
Check equipment upon arrival. First trailer had a slick tire, would have never made it to PA. Had to return to Houma store to change out trailer. When I return to the store I was told I had to take care of replacing the slick tire . This NOT what customer wants to hear. I will not recommend this location to anyone.Gary G.

I followed all procedures as verification of the truck before using it. I woke up the next morning to a extra charge on my card for more then 100$. So now I will be late for work because I had to go there as no one answered the phone when I called. So I suggest you go in before leaving the parking lot to update your paperwork if it's not what is listed on what they give you to not get charge for someone else's mistake. He went on to say that, "if you live in America, you should learn to speak american." I rented the unit online and it said that I would have access to the unit that night, which is what I needed. I got the text saying it was ready for move in, but once I got to the facility with a load of stuff, I couldn’t get in. The next day I called and the lady was very friendly and helpful. She said I needed to go in to the store and get a card to use to enter the facility. I don’t understand why it said I could access the unit if I really couldn’t. They charge me for something that was already broke on the truck. There's nothing I can do about it. If I would of did it I would own up to it. I think it's not fair. I wouldn't recommend u haul to anyone. It's not much. It's just the principle of the situation. The rental truck smelled awful and I even told the sales person that and he said we try to clean them out when they come in. I purchase a Dolly the day before from u-haul , I rent a truck for the day, and when I rental the rental truck , I was charge for a dolly that was inside the rental truck , that I didn't use. I even told the sales person that and I was told the tie wrap was broken, I ask if he would show me one of the other rental truck to see the tie wrap and I was told he didn't have to show me and if I had a problem, to get with his manager about it. I bet that the other rental trucks had dollys not even tie wrapped, that's why he didn't want to show me. I will never rental from u-haul every again and will tell everyone one I know , that's u-haul will charge you for thinks you don't even use. No issues during my need of storage. The only issue was the last day I used the facility to get my belongings was there was an alarm going off and on. Had to prop the side door to remove my belongings because the auto doors didn’t work. I assume because it is a security measure. It should be rated by days used for that month and get refunded for the rest of the days I was out for.. I think that would help for uhaul to get more business !! Since hurricane Ida staff got climate control operational as quickly as power allowed. My units were unscathed. While waiting to purchase rope a black lady came to pickup her 26 foot truck. She had a confirmation number. All he would tell her is she had no truck nothing else. She asked what about ones on the lot he said they were for other customers. After she left I asked him if it was because she was black he said no it was because she had reserved on line going one way. Uhaul does this all the time. All his trucks were local only. He could have helped her more. I too was going one way in a 26footer. And was soooooo glad I chose Penske or I too would have loaders to pay & no truck. Shame on uhaulChristy D. | Overall Experience

I am a victim of Hurricane Ida. As soon as your facility was available to me I contacted your office. You were so kind to me and assisted me with all of my concerns. When room came available you called and helped me to start my journey to reconstruct. Everything was explained and I was walked through the process completely. The store was Immaculate and so well stocked. All packaging supplies were available, and explained as per there use. I was able to purchase supplies that I could not find anywhere in town. I never had a time when I absolutely needed storage until this hurricane, and my experience was perfect. My storage number was 1675 and the roof had leaked prior to hurricane ida and I’ve tried making a claim and went back in forth with the insurance and office personal. Insurance told me to take it up with the office and the office handed me a pamphlet to call the insurance. I’ve even gotten intouch with the previous owner of the same storage from 2 yrs prior to me having it and they had the same issue. The facility now needs a lot of maintenance and roof issues, and that particular storage should have never been reissued until that leak was fixed .William R. | Overall Experience
