I am a victim of Hurricane Ida. As soon as your facility was available to me I contacted your office. You were so kind to me and assisted me with all of my concerns. When room came available you called and helped me to start my journey to reconstruct. Everything was explained and I was walked through the process completely. The store was Immaculate and so well stocked. All packaging supplies were available, and explained as per there use. I was able to purchase supplies that I could not find anywhere in town. I never had a time when I absolutely needed storage until this hurricane, and my experience was perfect. My experience was terrible. I drove from New Orleans to Houma with my own trailer to pick up a new lawnmower. The mower was too big to fit on my trailer. The UH location was directly across the street from the lawnmower dealership. I went to UH and told the manager that I needed to transport a new mower that was 68â€ wide. She said they rented 6' trailers. I told her that should work. I rented the trailer and then headed back across the street to pickup the mower. She did not mention that the gate on the trailer was only 5.5' wide. Immediately after we figured out that the mower didn't fit on this trailer either I went back to UH and told them about the gate problem but they said I left their property so they would not refund my rental fee. I didn't have time to argue with them so the next day I reached out to UH for a refund. I was transferred around on the phone for over an hour of total hold time. I finally got to someone in Customer Service and explained what had happened. After being on hold for about 15 minutes I got disconnected. Soon after that I received an email saying I had left the property so they would not be refunding my $38 rental charge. Believe me, it is not the $38 rental feeâ€¦ it's the principal. I feel as though UH ripped me off. So here is my review. MY EXPERIENCE WITH UH WAS TERRIBLE !!!THOMAS N.

My storage number was 1675 and the roof had leaked prior to hurricane ida and I’ve tried making a claim and went back in forth with the insurance and office personal. Insurance told me to take it up with the office and the office handed me a pamphlet to call the insurance. I’ve even gotten intouch with the previous owner of the same storage from 2 yrs prior to me having it and they had the same issue. The facility now needs a lot of maintenance and roof issues, and that particular storage should have never been reissued until that leak was fixed .William R. | Overall Experience

Done charge me 3 times over on a 1day rental. Lie on when I brought the u haul truck back. When I brought it back the next day st 5:30 PM and they trying to say I brought it back at 9:32am on the 2nd day when I was at work since 5am that morning. Just so they can charge me for the 3rd time on a rental. Never use this place again. And I will tell everyone I know about how they cheat and over charge people when they just had a cat4 hurricane wipe out the area and they trying to take and steal money from people that just lost there home due to the storm. When you rent to someone telling them that the uhaul comes full of gas and needs to be returned full of gas, the uhaul should actually be full. It was 3/4 full and I didn't realize because of the way the gas gage is. It took me $54 to fill the tank and I only went from Houma LA to Chalmette LA. I'm incredibly upset.AMANDA K.

First. they gave away my 20' reservation. The first person I talked to, pretended to be helpful but was not. Then that forced me to get what they had available. A much smaller 15' truck. That caused me an extra 120 miles and another day and a half. I was told they would comp my mileage. When I got my emailed receipt, full rental charge. I feel duped but now I'm wiser. The only problem I have is that I have to pay for the whole month and it isn't prorated for when I leave. I was charged 21st each month and that's fine but I moved out on the 1st and you're able to rent it to someone else and it's like uhaul gets double rent for those amount of days. Less to do with the physical location, but the website and physical site have discrepancies on what is available for units. Reservations made based on units available, but once got there informed nothing of that size available so had to instead utilize two smaller sizes. I reserved a box truck and storage unit online, with a utility dolly, days before I needed it. I went it to pick up the truck and an hour later, I was leaving with the truck. it should not have taken an hour to get the truck I reserved ahead of time. I also bought a lock for the storage unit at this time and they charged me $11.95 instead of $9.95 and it took a long time for the girl to take give me the sale price. About 5 hours later, I came to get into my storage unit and it was locked. I called to have them take their lock off and had to wait again. I returned the truck about 5 hours earlier than expected when the staff was still in the office. The guy looked over the truck and told me what my balance was. I wanted a printed receipt so I went inside the office to get one. There I was that I was billed for 2 utility dollys, even though we only had one. The office girl was unable to refund the me the second $7 charge.Two days later, I am still waiting for my refund. The manager and staff are terrific but the aisles are too narrow. You cannot turn corners with loaded carts. This is a big problem.
