We upgraded to a bigger vehicle the day of pick up. Young man was very helpful in assisting us. Drove out of state and back to drop off daughter and we returned the truck the next day. Other employee helpful when we returned the truck. Very busy both days, employees great. Inside truck and cab clean, mileage was much better than we expected. Highly recommend, did book online but changed equipment and did return in person. (also used this location for college moves a few years ago with cargo van)

UHaul made a very stressful time hassle free - they even helped co-ordinate muscle to load and unload the vans and these men were respectful, quick moving and careful with my belongings. I’ve paid movers 4 times with cross country moves, and will never do that again. Uhaul was 1/4 the cost and seamless!!! Thank you Uhaul!

Easy location to drop off a truck. Plenty of signage and space. It was challenging to do the drop off on line. I don't know if the website was down but it was impossible to add a photo of the mileage to the account. I finally gave up after 6-7 tries and left a note with the keys. Thankfully, the Hyannis location received the truck in the morning with no issues.

Educate staff on how the billing related to the charges for gasoline usage and rebate of such charges upon return works. Our reservation was for a 20 foot truck at 9 am We arrived at 8:45 and check in was not completed until 9"30 at which time we were infomrmed that a 20 foot truck was not available. We chose a 26 foot truck vs wait longer. Once change was completed, we were given key and directed to find the truck out back. It was difficult to find the truck and it woud have been easier if we were escorted to the truck or if we were informed that the vehicle number we sought to match the one on our reservation slip was not the license number but rather the small identifier on the top of the truck.. Otherwise the truck ran safely and return was completed without difficulty. thank you!

The truck was not available for pick up. My pick up time was 9am and I did not get the truck until 9:30 since it had just been returned. So I was late for my 10am appointment with the Greater Boston Food Bank at the transfer station in Harwich, MA.

The pick up process was too long. I did the online pick up and it didn’t save any time. I was still 45 minutes after arriving before I left just to pick up a trailer. It was a busy day, but way too long.

We had a simple job we wanted to get done at home - bring appliances and broken down furniture to the dump - and Uhaul made it really simple. Ordered a 10' box truck and appliance dolly online, went in and picked it up with no issue, and returning the equipment couldn't have been easier. Employees were great all around as well, will definitely choose Uhaul again!

I fell behind in my storage payments and I asked to have someone help me and they transferred me to somone hire up and she did not help at all . Or even try . These storage people not just U-Haul but every single company is all about themselves none of them help in any way . They don’t except partial Payments cause it will mess up there company amd that never will help customer especially I’m todays economy where everyone is struggle . Very sad .

I made my reservation online. The time, date, and location were all confirmed via e-mail. I received a text stating that I was "late" picking the equipment up. I was not. When I did arrive, the young man at the counter told me that he did not have my reservation, but could see that I was scheduled to pick the equipment up at a different location. I showed him the confirmation e-mail. After 30 minutes or so, the staff were able to get me the equipment that I needed, but not without a lot of confusion and uncertainty. While I was using the equipment, I received a call from the other location, asking if I was still interested in the equipment. I informed that young lady that I was CURRENTLY using the equipment. I then received e-mails from UHAUL; some were canceling my reservation, while others asked for a review. It was just a trailer. It shouldn't have been that difficult. I appreciate the staff figuring it out for me, and everyone was nice, though the system issues clearly had them confused as well.

Checking in was seamless, great personable staff, very helpful. Returning truck on Sat not so good, bald husky guy first comment to me was it will take over a hour to return truck unless you use mobile app. When questioning how to return online, told me figure it out. Now the worst part, as I was taking pictures and completing process online to return,I notice a woman return a truck and an employee helps her check in her return. This employee who did not want to help me is not good for your business, I will not recommend your location for future rentals,other options out there. I wish I got the bald husky guys name when I checked in, he is not the kind of person you want facing customers

Sketchy checkin with an associate who just got in front of customers for his poor customer service, doesn’t tell Us where to go. Won’t be using again

There was only 1 guy behind the desk working. There was a line of 5 people waiting patiently. When the guy asked me what I needed I said I was here to return a vehicle, which I then got told just scan the QR code to check in after scanning the QR code. Realize that he thought I was here for a vehicle instead of returning one. Then waited patiently in line for 20+ minutes, then he kept helping the other customers but was not sure why I was still standing there and I told him that I was here to turn a vehicle and he said just leave the keys you’ll be fine. I put the keys in the truck and then waited about 10 minutes to which I got a response of what you still doing here. I said I am not leaving until you guys check it in as returned because I do not want to be charged for more days and it’s not being used the gentleman then pond me off to his colleague who is very nice to take care of everything.

Your customer service representative by the name of Joe tried to charge me for a nail in a tire on my return of the rental. Tires wasn't low or flat on the pickup nor return. So how us it MY NAIL. I purchased insurance for the rental period so why are they trying to charge me for a nail in a tire. And I was also informed that I would be put on the DO NOT RENT TO LIST until I comply and pay which will not happen. I will be contacting uhaul corporate on this matter and inform my family and friends to not do business with this company. News media will also be notified.

The pick up process with the app was a nightmare. Took 45 minutes to get to the point of getting a code then the lock was stuck. Nobody there to help. The van smelled like urine, and it was on bone dry empty at pick up. When I called to complain, I was told to bring it back " as you got it, empty" ended up bringing it back with half a tank ( which I should be paid for) Terrible, glad you emailed this to remind me to write a Google and yelp review

the person who rented the trailer said he needed it there at 8am the next day and asked if I could drop it off after hours. I worked with the support people however was not able to remove the hitch from my car. I arrived at 7:15 am and no one would help me. A woman left and was gone for 15 minutes. A man was there and said he couldn't help me. I told him I was there the previous night so he condescended to help me. He removed the hitch and said I was all set. He did not actually check the trailer in as being returned. I received a text that did I want to add time to my reservation at 6pm. I had returned it 11 hours earlier. So then I needed to call to have them check it in. This location does not have good customer oriented people working here.

Make sure it’s noted that the trailer wasn’t clean. You have charged me $15 for cleaning when I rented a dirty trailer and put two couches in it and returned it.

I have no complaints about the staff but the rust bucket truck that I rented needs to be retired. No step to get into the drivers seat, no hand rail to help get into the drivers seat. Passenger mirrors flop down when you go over a bump. Drivers door has to be slammed to close it properly. Very noisy and uncomfortable. It’s the Joe Biden of trucks.

The people at the counter could focus on the customer rather than having conversations with other workers, (who were NOT assisting customers) about personal things like pay and hours. This was happening while I was trying to check in. Moving is already stressful without having the person helping me paying more attention to their conversation than the customer. It was just very unprofessional. I almost asked the employee if we could focus on my transaction rather than his work hours.

This location is always very busy. I think a couple of added employee would be helpful. Otherwise it was an average experience. They do have a lot of rental vehicles and trailers available every time I need one. That is a plus for this location. As well as having a great inventory of trailer accessories.

The facility was great. It was the experience with the staff that brought your score down. One guy was eating a hot dog and said that he didn't have experience with check outs. He then proceeded to be a wise guy and kept jawing about helping me if he was trained. Very antagonizing.

U-Haul truck was parked in the spot (very s mall spot for what is advertised) I reserved and paid for. It took over 40 minutes for staff to move the vehicle out of the spot. I went to exit the security gate only to find that a remote was needed to open the gate. I had no idea that a remote was needed. Never was offered. Even on the reservation page.

Outdoor unit had plastic sheeting lining the ceiling of my unit. It decayed over the years and left fragments of decomposed plastic over everything leaving a mess. Wind came through over the walls with no seal at the ceiling so this caused your plastic sheeting to flap and disintegrate all the more quickly. Terrible design flaw for those outdoor units

Some of my furniture got rust damage which I wasn’t expecting. I was told that the unit was climate controlled and supposed to prevent any poor weather conditions from entering. Other than that, the unit was spacious and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I need to say this I’m just stable and I parked out front there’s another vehicle beside deer Park there and they were putting boxes in the car and I parked beside him and I pull up farther than them and I go inside I’m still in line waiting waiting I finally go up and some guy comes in at work here and said I have to move my van because it’s in the lane and I’m like OK so I won’t move it which wasn’t easy for me believe me and I come back in and there’s five people in front of me now so I’m waiting and waiting and waiting in line she finally text me again and the girl at the desk was very nice she’s very helpful but the guy who told me the movie was very rude to me he was very rude to me since you’ve got to move it right now so I go to the place now I’m disabled and I got a van in and it’s uphill in a ramp and there’s railing in front of my thing so I can’t put the boxes out there up I got a move him up and then put them in very hard for me and my girlfriend was there and she was so mad that it took so long inside she start arguing with me and we broke up I tell you I will never ever use you guys again and I’m gonna tell everybody about the situation I am disabled I shouldn’t be treated like a second-class citizen

Poor customer service; bad corporate policies; terrible and stringent policy of locking units after only two days late on a payment; lost hundreds of $$$ because of said policy; complained to corporate _ nothing was done; the only positive aspect was the hours of access & the key fob button. There wasn’t specific information about the split level unit, because when I googled it I had a different understanding based on pictures on a uhaul website (it made it look like part of the unit would be on the ground, and part would need to be accessed by a ladder, like split into 2 units within the unit if that makes sense - as opposed to the whole unit being up a flight of steps). So I couldn’t move one of the items of furniture in there because I was so physically worn out from the move. And I was told in the initial email it would be on the first floor so I had assumed it was the actual floor. I selected it because it looked like it was discounted but really it was just the normal price of that unit, it was confusing. If I had understood I would’ve paid for a first floor unit that was on the first floor.

Only issue I had was yet another price increase. Not only with Uhaul but everywhere and at some point you need to stand on principal and say enough is enough. Pricing is out of control and I would prefer to just store it elsewhere than continue to get gauged.

Jake provided some of the worst customer service I have experienced in many years. Jake is rude. He over talks his customers & shhhhed my husband. Jake refused to complete the sale of a storage unit at the counter and told us to back to our car to down load the app and complete the rental ourselves.

Unfortunately, the app was not functioning the evening before move-in, nor the morning of move-in and I was unable to connect with the office due to a phone issue hence the low score. Otherwise the staff at the facility was very helpful specifically Jake, and once I received instructions, the access and move-in and actual storage unit was excellent

Barbara Kelly-amazing. And her husband. I think the manager-amazing!!!❤️. Some of the other staff especially answering the phone were terrible😡. Clueless and rude. Did nothing to help only hinder my storage-truck rental goals. Hope it gets better🙈. Thank you

Was not happy to find that after a snowstorm my storage unit had snow in it. The inside roof insulation had all fallen off. My two laptops & many other electronics were ruined after having sat in melted snow. No one said anything about the unit not being safe from to much rain or snow. Had I known that I never would have taken an outside unit.

‘No’s & average’ for broken gate, not well maintained. So not secure, & misleading. Otherwise, great cust service! They need a raise & more help! Sara was very professional & accommodating, from my call, to in person contact on Fri, 4/14/23. She told me she wouldn’t be there when I arrived almost an hr later, but assured me, Tom would assign me my ‘new’ storage container. Low & behold, she was still there, due to being very busy & the 2 were bogged down w/all kinds of things going on, in & outside w/ppl. They’d even had an auction earlier! Sara was very calm, polite & friendly at all times, to everyone, despite the obviously stressful time she was immersed in...Well after she was supposed to have gone home! Tom was kept busy outside w/just sporadic moments in, to help Sara w/different ppl & issues, incl computer. I had to wait a good hr, myself, so had time to observe everything going on. And pretty much everything did, w/a wide variety of ppl w/numerous requests & problems. Tom was very friendly, smiling w/everyone, & disarming impatient ppl w/his friendly demeanor, as if it was just a regular day at the office. When clearly, it was not. They easily needed at least 2 more knowledgeable ppl on. When I finally got my much awaited storage, I walked right by the swiper, to the gate. I was just going to walk in, to see my spot. So just passed it. Back inside, Sara, finally leaving, told me ‘the yellow post’. But again, I just went for the gate!😂 There were numerous returned rentals lined up I walked around, so I guess on foot, I just didn’t see it. I went in again, now to Tom, holding down the fort solo. Knowing I’d been there a very long time, he finished w/his customer & immediately came out to show me the ‘yellow post’ Sara told me it was on...Before the gate!LOL We both had a good laugh & I again thanked him very much, while telling him how great they both were under so much pressure, when so short handed. I called them ‘the dynamic duo’! And certainly were! They obviously have a good working relationship & their personalities complement each other well. Not 1 being laid back & the other more tense, under stress. It could have easily been 2 nervous, tense nellies, that would have fed into some antsy, impatient ppl waiting. Everyone kept cool, all around. I engaged a couple ppl for distraction, myself. My one complaint has nothing to do with them. The back gate is broken. Wide open. What’s the point of ppl thinking their storage is safe behind locked gates? Especially w/prices stretching some pocketbooks. I’m a senior, myself. My unit is close to that wide open gate. I can easily be seen from well outside it. If I’m there later, do I feel safe w/no one else outside close by? NO! We, as customers paying for a ‘secure’ service, should feel our belongings are safe, yes. More importantly, WE should feel safe, when at our units, alone. Upon my retun today, I also returned scissors I had to go back inside yet again for, yesterday, B/C my new unit had a zip tie on. In a hurry to leave, I forgot to return them! 3 Different ppl were there, w/just 1 client, in an empty place! The 2 guys I spoke with said it was a very slow day. Told them they were definitely needed the day prior! Returned the scissors & asked about the gate. I was told by Sara it wasn’t working right, but I didn’t expect it to be wide open, totally non functional. Both guys said it’s a regular problem w/it. I said I didn’t think it was right & I would be there a lot, solo. And will be concerned. I rented thinking it was going to be secure for both people & their things. I would think U Haul makes enough money to keep their gates working well at all times. Why pay extra for after hours, if you can just go in? Worse, if it’s late, dark & you’re alone in that area of Hyannis. No thank you! I went to Sun Self Storage a couple days prior & no question that was secure. For everyone & everything. They were even less $. UHaul is closer & for $20 more w/all the back ‘n forth w/things, I went w/UHaul. If I’d known there is a regular problem w/a broken gate right at my unit, I would have gone further for $20 less, + a Sr discount & no required ins costing more on top of rental fee. Guess I’m glad I’m paying the extra for ins here, now that I know there’s no gate secure storage at this location. If something happens to a customer, especially at night, cameras, if working, are not going to help prevent it. Especially when so close to the exit. A SECURE gate will. They don’t seem to care it’s a regular issue. I’m retired from working w/NYC crime. It all happens very fast. I’ll see how long it takes to fix. And STAYS fixed, since I was told it may only last a day or 2. And I’ll keep my eye open for another locale I will feel safer at. I need storage for a little while. Same size is no longer avail at Sun.
