Was called a day after making my reservation and was told I needed to take a smaller truck and from a different location. When I went to pick up the truck from the location I was told to go to they did not have my reservation and I had to go to the original location of Inkster. When I finally got the truck the outside of the truck was filthy and the fuel gauge was under full but I was told I have to bring it back fullJustin D.

well I originally bookde at the century location. But had to drive to the inkster location to get the trailer. Was kind of disapointed about that as with a ton of construction, that (pick up and drop off) added 40 minutes of time to my day. The tire hold down straps were also fraying abit. I mentioned to the attendant that should be addressed. Easy fix, was tempted to do it myself.NORMAN S.
Waited a long before anyone enteted the building to serve me. Handicapped and no chair nearby had to hobble entire bldg to sit. When staff came they were very polite and even brought the chair to their window to serve me. Line up gathered behind me so you need more staff. Informed the room I rented was accessible by truck but was not so that was a negative. Had to unload on cart and unload again inside facility. Did not want that. The truck was not at the location. I rented the only truck on the lot and the worker said I only had 2 hours for the truck. After 2 hours, I asked for an extension another worker made the extension with no issues but I was charged an extra $40. Overall complaint was being charged the $40 .. my original rental was for 8 hrs and I had to make more trips because of the smaller truck. If I had the original rental I wouldn't be charged the extra time needed .. but grea experience overall staff was helpful and gave great adviceIRELAN M.

Booked a uhaul two weeks earlier.and confirmed with someone on the phone. At pickup time I guess it wasn't entered in their computer and it turned into an hour argument to use it. Now behind schedule I finally received the keys for the uhaul and left the lot. The engine light was on and things kept beeping. The brake release was broken so I turned around to tell the employees this. All they said was they know. They could have at least let me know or better yet , get it fixed. So after my hour drive of listening to this warning beep/ding , I was able to almost start loading up. I opened the back and it was filthy, covered in dirt and garbage and spiders. So I spent another hour cleaning it out. Finally loaded up. On my way to return the uhaul I noticed a beer can beside/behind the front sent . Nothing was wiped down . I thought It was mandatory precautions for the whole COVID thing but I guess someone's spilt coffee is an added touch to the irritating noise to signal a broken vehicle. When returning it, I started to let them know they might want to remove the beer and dirt from the uhaul, but I was lecture for being a couple hours late. I also had missed a call, and heard about that to. Sorry I don't talk while driving , can't hear anything else anyways other then ding ding ding. If I didn't have a few hours wasted due to their inability to run a business , I probably would not have been late. But hey they still get their money, as I'm charged for a full extra day for being two hours late, didn't even have it for a full day. If I ever move again, I'd rather use a wagon then one of their trucks.Kara M.

There were no lighting inside the individual units and made it difficult to see inside. Secondly when renting a vehicle there were some hidden fuel charges the staff member imposed on the customers after returning the vehicles even though you have topped up the gas. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Was instructed on how to hook up / disconnect Cargo Trailer and ensured it was fully functioning and secure before leaving. The trailer appeared clean when I picked it up but there was dried mud that was tracked inside. Took me 10 min to clean up with a stiff broom so not a big deal and would still rent again. I was originally booked at U haul Space Age in Steinbach, I called at 2:30 to let them know I would be 10 mins late. Chris informed they didn't have a trailer for me as it was stolen of the yard the night before. I informed him that U-haul told me it was to be delivered at 9:30am the same day of pick up. He said the customer dropped it the night before and it was stolen. I asked what am I supposed to now, I need a trailer. He said it's not like we wanted it stolen. He said he called u-haul and was disconnected. I asked why no one called me in the morning to let me know the trailer was gone. He didn't have an answer for me. He was rude and did not want to help me at all. He said he would try to call again and call me back. Chris never returned my call. I called u-haul and the person I talked to was great he found a trailer for me right away. Inkster was great and helpful. I will never deal with the Steinbach branch again. The truck had Tim Hortons cups left in it stuffed behind the seat. The truck front smelled heavily of curry and when I started the vehicle the radio was absolutely blasting. The fuel stated on the form was very much off and I took a picture before I used the truck. I let them know this in my return process and they charged me $30 anyways even though I left it with more fuel than I started (I had sent them a picture of the ending fuel also to compare). Even though I did a return over the Internet on my phone, I was also still charged the $20 next day inspection fee. I'm not sure how they could make the experience worse.NESS V.

I usually think the trucks are clean. We rent a lot and have found three other times for it to not have been cleaned with there being garbage in it. But after being charged 50$ to resweep out the back of the U-Haul a few times I wanted to also let you know your staff isn't always cleaning inside top to bottom. Last rental which was last week we found a can that someone left behind which showed that they were drinking while using the U-Haul vehicle and we have a picture of it. It was called spritzer. Thanks the facility itself was ok I wanted a 10x10 storage unit The girl wouldn’t allow me to have it Had a huge argument with the manager bc when I rented the truck we had issues and were late returning but was called and threatened with they would call the police on me if I didn’t return it NOW. They could have just charged me extra which I stated was fine and they had my credit card number so really don’t understand the threat Storage unit was too small had to store stuff outside my home which someone came and stoled stuff so I lost items that couldn’t fit in my unit bc I didn’t get the size I needed The facility is clean and bright which I liked thanksKathleen M. | Overall Experience

This is my first time renting a storage unit on Inkster Blvd because I need a storage space to place my stuff since I don’t have a ton of space in my basement. It was easy to navigate to get to especially they have free carts available inside the Bay Area near the entrance door for you to use if you have heavy things that you can’t take it all the way down to your storage. Overall this place is clean and each storage units have individually alarm system so that you wouldn’t have to worry losing your belongings for 24 hours and 7 days a week at anytime! We returned the equipment on time. My husband spoke to a person when we dropped the equipment off. One month later, someone called and said we needed to return the equipment. My husband received a call the same day and said we returned it on a Sunday (he was wrong we returned on the due date, which was a Saturday). So, later in the day, there was a charge for â€œthe extra dayâ€. A better system should be in place for returns. The store was very clean and so was the equipment.TRACEY C.

Our original booking was at the Dufferin location. When we arrived there, they were grossly understaffed with only one person present, who was outside with a client. After a lengthy wait, the employee returned and started dealing with customers. When we finally made it to the counter, we were informed that our reserved 15" truck was not there, and that there was no substitute to offer. The employee called in to HQ and found us a pickup and trailer at the Inkster location. A drive later, we made it to the Inkster location and got set up with the pickup, which had cardboard in the truck bed, and gravel in the trailer. The lengthy delays and mismanagement caused significant changes in our moving plans, which are stressful and tight enough in the first place. I was also now tasked with maneuvering a trailer through a tight spot to load, and parallel parking it on a small street to unload. Due to the extra length of the trailer truck combo, we couldn't park near to our new building as there wasn't ever enough street parking. Good thing it didn't rain, because then we'd have experienced significant property damage thanks to the negligent scheduling. All in, a piss-poor experience, and the only redeeming factor was the friendly staff at the Inkster location.BENJAMIN-F B.

The trailer wasn't cleaned. Lots of dirt debris in it. We needed to use it for mattresses so we took it hole and cleaned it before our use. When we dropped it off on the 29th the woman closing said she would close it al out and send as an email of verification. We didn't get this so I ended up coming there at 7am to get it and get them to close it out. The guy in morning who I delay with was awesome and you could tell he looked his job. Between home renos, unexpectedly moving an elderly parent and Covid life in general, things were getting pretty hectic. I booked a storage unit transfer on February 22 2021 to a smaller unit via telephone. I requested a unit close to the one I was in as I had noticed quite a few empty units available in my requested size of a 5 x 10. I also noted when I made the reservation that I could not move until March 1st in the am. When I arrived I was told I was being charged $215.00 for the 10 x 10 because I WAS LATE paying the storage fee!!!! He told me I needed to "PAY ON TIME" and that was why I was being charged the 10 x 10 unit fee!!!! This was very upsetting considering I had made these arrangements prior and was not able to move on the 28th. I was then placed in a unit CLEAR ACROSS THE BUILDING rather than closer to my present unit. I did this move alone and with bad hips. There were many empty units available that were much closer to unit 600 ( 10 x10) that I was in. I went back to the office and asked why I wasnt given a unit closer and I was told they were all booked!! I'm very disappointed in the service and my experience wasnt helpful or pleasant. I called uhaul yesterday to inquire on my unit fees for April 2021. I was told I have a credit of 80$ and my fee would be an additional 80$!!! 5 x10 is 129.00 a month! It doesnt add up. Customer service is excellent and I found this place with more advantages for me than the last storage I had. The price is one of the best for the service I am getting. I do love that the facility has automatic doors to park the car when I visit my storage. Also, I like the facility interior colours, almost all white, everything looks clean and welcoming. I have used several other storage facilities in the City before. U-Haul storage is by far the best. Other places have been dirty, had mice and water problems.
