we i rented the van i ask the lady an explaination why i got charge for more than $70 for a $19.95 van with estimated 20 miles of use. got no answer from her. she always says just click accept many times when in fact i was still reading the machine why i got charge that much! thanks to the guy who work there sunday when i returned the van. he helped me and explain what happened.

Just so you are aware, I have only ever rented a storage unit once and it was at the Inkster Avenue location. I can't believe the unbelievably great service that I received on a number of visits thru out the time I was renting. I rented trucks on two occasions and had three storage units. Every time the service was impeccable. Won't go anywhere else, ever!!

I am a years-long customer - perhaps 30 days per year of rentals. What I am unable to understand is the procedure when you check back in. The U-Haul experience is nothing similar to what I experience with car-rental agencies at air-ports when I travel around the world. I bring the car back unwashed and unvacummed. I'm checked out, with a receipt in under 3 minutes!. In the past I have been fined $25.00 by U-haul because they found a single corn-cob in the bed of the truck. Now I wash the truck and scrub it down before I return it. The inspection you do is incredible. It takes about 7-l0 minutes - the employee walks all around the truck, (seemingly with a magnifying glass), looking for the smallest 1/2" scratch, or a minor door-ding. They even check the under-carriage, climb up to check the roof, and cast a critical eye on the box. Then there is another 5-6 minutes to complete the paper-work for the check-out and your locations are almost always understaffed. I'm always afraid that there will be an argument about gas or some insignificant or "invisible to the naked eye" damage. Your trucks are never filled up with a full tank so it is hard to bring it back with the exact amount without overpaying to avoid another fine. In that regard, I would rate the experience as "Very Poor" . I don't know why a company as large as U-Haul cannot develop a program and policy similar to that enjoyed by Airport travellers everywhere in the world. Thanks, Peter Mackid .

the girl i delt with when picking up the truck did not make things easy or normal. the guy that delt with me when dropping off i give 5/5 stars he was what i expected the truck floor was dirty made my bed all dirty on one side. and the amount of time i asked for when renting was not given to me which made the whole day very stressful. Next time i dont think i will use uhaul as the price i paid i did not get the service i have come to expect as i have had many times in the past which is why i went uhaul this time. I would recommend to have more spare trucks on the busiest time of the year when people are moving between places. I didn't received my truck on time and moved in 3 hour window due to truck failure and findings of replacement on August 31st, that's caused me a major headache of rebooking 3 appointments that day and loosing a lot of time. Although I've received the compensation that made the financial hit for that day to decrease for me.

Our reservations were from 8 to 4 they were changed from 7 to 3. The truck that we were suppose to have wasnt returned so we ended up with a smaller truck. Suppose to have a 20 ft truck ended up with a 15ft truck. The lady working gave us a hard time because the truck was not right on the 1/4 tank line and was just below but was still at a 1/4 tank she tried to charge me late fees and I said no and no your not charging me for gas. The truck cost us 55.00 in gas plus we had to make 3 extra trips with our friends truck which is unexcusable when we could have had it done in one with the truck we were suppose to have. Ryan was amazing but the lady working was not. I wouldn't recommend this location bc of her and her attitude.

I had booked for 24 hours and had it confirmed and then had it changed and I went in person to get it reinstated as booked and had all cleared up and agreed only to again have a problem when picking up vehicle with the time of the return. Seems to be poor record keeping and information sharing when something is done out of the box and it caused me multiple frustrations with this booking as I kept getting it sorted and confirmed only to run into a problem with the confirmation on multiple occasions

Informed the toll free line that my dolly i rented was broken, was told no problem had to move without it which I needed. went to the store for drop off, employee (ryan) was really busy but told me to leave the stuff there and he would credit, I got my bill via email and was CHARGED THE DOLLY!!

I booked a 15-foot online but then was emailed and told I couldn't have a 15-foot but would have to take a 20-foot. Then last minute U-Haul called and said they only had a 26-foot. I did not appreciate that!

Have more staff working during busy times. People were lined up waiting for service, with only one person working the front counter, plus doing check ins! I have experienced this before at U-Haul locations...simply poor service. I was late getting the trailer back, however when I was called to ask when trailer will be returned I advised of turn signal problem. When I did return the trailer I again made mention of the turn signal not working, I was told they didn’t have time to get it fixed as the trailer was booked to go to Toronto...??? Technically the trailer was not safe to travel until turn signal fully working. The problem is simply passed off to the next customer, I am sure they too will be told it must be a problem with their vehicle. I think this is a trained response so people are forced to fix U-Haul maintenance issues!

Simplify after hours return so that client does not have to use a smart phone at the actual U-Haul location to avoid the $20 fee; set up other options for after hours return to avoid this unnecessary fee. Tried to use smart phone at coffee shop afterwards to finalize the after hours return of U-Haul van but U-Haul web site would not accept.

Improve communication and customer relations skills. The Manager was extremely rude when I arrived to pick up the vehicle. I had received a quote two days prior in the store location, then a different amount (lower) when I spoke to the call centre representative, and finally a much higher quote from the manager. When I mentioned this to her, she became aggressive and argumentative, and stated "they were wrong, you don't have to take the vehicle." As I had people waiting on me and arrangements made I had no choice but to take the vehicle.

Fantastic staff, attentive and willing to help. The great installer helped and explained how things worked. When booking the gentleman suggested many different options when booking storage and other rental equipment. Overall a great improvement from the last time I used this place. My only suggestion is checking tires for inflation as one of the trailer wheels was low and I had to top up the air. Otherwise, a flawless transaction, thank you.
