Michael GI will no longer recommend U-Haul. Your 12'x6' trailer caused an accident due to uncontrollable swaying. Not one word of warning about this from anyone at multiple locations, past and present. My car was totalled and my family suffered injuries.
Ramon MThere were almost no customers around in the lot when I showed up. There were no staff in the office. I had to go outside to find someone and flag them down. The gentleman that did saunter over claimed that "everyone is busy doing things around the lot" and was somewhat frustrated. He checked me in and eventually led me to my trailer. Upon returning at about 2 PM, I waited in the drop off area. There were no other customers dropping off their trucks/trailers. After waiting 3 minutes, I decided to do the self checkout with the app. I had to take pictures of all sides of the trailer and upload them with the app. This probably took another 5 minutes. During that time, not one single employee came to the drop off area. This is pretty pathetic. I fill everything out online ahead of time, yet no one is there to check me in or out after a rental. Do better, UHaul. Your prices are cheap, but your customer service is far cheaper.
Kevin CWas charged for 4 days for a moving truck but only used it for 2. When I asked the gentleman what I needed to do he just said I can’t help ya you will have to call corporate.
Keith CWe were driving to Iowa city from Waukee, Iowa to move my daughter to Wisconsin. We ran into traffic and were around 55 minutes late. They said because we were late, they gave our truck away. Unbelievable!!!! So disappointed in this that we will never rent from here again.

colleen BThe online process is still just as bugged as the last time I used it several years ago. Only it was at least a manageable annoying bug, instead of a game breaking bug like it used to be all the time. Plainly, I use the website because I refuse to use an app for a one time rental here and there, and last I knew it was also very bugged anyways so I just never went back to it. The website I had some difficulty navigating to my rental for an after-hours return because the button was covered up almost entirely by another button. Afterwards it went smoothly until the photos screen. It made me redo all of the phots with no explanation whatsoever and I was trying to get out of there to get to work. The GPS also didn't work initially either for some reason. Other than some online/software issues that are of no fault to this location at all, I had what I'd call a perfect experience. And thank you to the employee that hooked up my trailer. You're amazing!

Martin BUpon returning the vehicle in Iowa City, we pulled up to the return equipment lane where the signs said to wait in your vehicle, and someone would come out. we waited several minutes and ended up having to go inside to get someone to help us. We let him know the AC was out and he said he would note that

Brian DSigned up on u haul website and didn’t seem to matter when getting to the counter had to make all my selections over again and collect additional information. The additional information wasn’t communicated ahead of time and the employee entered it all wrong anyways so emergency contact information for someone at a different address is useless to u haul and won’t let me change it. Was a large language understanding barrier of what was trying to be communicated both ways and important information wasn’t communicated to make check in smooth and provide the service that was expected.
Michael M | First ImpressionsSince this facility was brand new in the last year everything is in top shape. All the workers have been very heplpful. Checkin of the truck was easy. The checkin of the storage unit and access to the unit was very good.
Mike FThe person helping me with my reservation could have cared less to be working that day. Very unfriendly and matter of fact. Was surprised that I had to come up with a drop off location address even though I had selected one when making reservation. Attendant was no help in finding the physical address of drop off - I had to get on my phone and find drop off location. Finally the attendant became a little more friendly when helping my hook up my trailer. He did move an older trailer out of the way to get me one that looked newer and I thanked him for that - and he finally cracked a smile. That trailer was clean, good tires, it did have some dents and previous damage that made me nervous - but he showed my the X stickers marking the previous damage - which helped a little. Loved the large lot and room to move at the facility.
Jeffrey BI do not like the fact that the trucks are not provided with a full tank of gas at time of rental. It seems to be a deceptive practice and does not feel like good customer service.

Donna H | Online Move InThe equipment was available and appeared in good working order. When I arrived to pick up the truck I reserved, the system was down which delayed things considerably, putting me behind schedule. I was disappointed that the staff didn't come out to show me where the vehicle was, just pointed in the direction it was parked, or make sure my lights worked. Thankfully the lights did work, although I only drove in the day time. I received the same poor customer service when I came back to return the truck. The guy didn't say anything, just stood there waiting for me to get out of the truck and go home. I stepped into the office thinking I would get an updated copy of my receipt, but there wasn't anyone inside. I guess maybe it all should be done without employees if this is what they think good customer service is. I will just do an after hour pickup from now on.

Devin BI had to reschedule my appointment after arriving to the location because the installer wasn’t working that day. Fast forward to today’s install and I got home and looked at the hitch and they didn’t give me the ball, the pin and clip or the ball mount and it clearly stated on my contract that I had paid for those. So, I had to go back to the facility to get those things.
Michelle FEmployees were very nice and knowledgeable about the rentals when I had a few questions.
Scott NTrailer dropoff instructions from representative were not clear (where to go). Also just sent me off without a receipt or taking pictures so unclear if transaction was handled and documented properly. (For example at Hertz you get a paper or electronic receipt/ email verification at the time of return). The only thing I received was a thumbs up. I got an email receipt later in the day

Sarah WOnly issue is poor signage and location of the alarm pad. Very confusing as there are numerous key pads for access and alarm. Almost every time we went to the unit someone was setting off the alarm.

Plus, a free month of rent was very helpful when you’re renting three units! This location was really, really busy at the beginning of August, but they are organized. The staff has been friendly and helpful throughout the last four months!

When I first signed up for the unit, I was not given the right instructions on how to access the unit and would often set off the alarm when trying to access my space. I called the front desk and they then explained how to use the access card to arm and disarm the unit. There was also no explanation of the type of lock I would need. I bought my own lock, then was called to say that it was not acceptable and I needed to come and change it. I was out of town. When I came back to my unit, there was a new lock, and I was not notified of this change and I had to wait in line to get a new key. The office is not always properly staffed such that wait times are long. It was inconvenient. All of this could have been avoided if I was told ahead of time that I needed a specific type of lock for the unit.

My unit was never put down as a move out on 8/1/25. Spoke with Trey from Hwy 1 location and he was able to process my move out over the phone. Other than that, that was the only issue.

After an hour of being hung up on, found out delivery wouldn't be for 7 more days. Panic. Went to local location. General manager saw my panic and helped me. Saved my day. In many ways saved my life. Even though truck's were all booked, got me one. Plus got me a storage unit. I needed this help. She's awesome. Truly

DESIREE C | First ImpressionsFacility is very nice, clean, unit was totally spotless. Reserving online was so easy and very clear check in instructions were emailed the day before. It was not busy when we arrived so we could park and find our unit and unload our first load quickly with no issue. When we returned with the second load, people were parked right in front of the large siding door (which I don’t believe is a parking space) but it made it very difficult to move large items out of our truck and through the sliding door. By the third trip early afternoon it was very busy - people were again parked in front of the sliding door & elevator was backed up so it look us an extra hour just waiting on the elevator because people were holding it on the upper floors. One elevator during busy times was a bit inconvenient. Overall a nice facility and seems to have great management.

I had a 10AM reservation, showed up at 1130AM and after waiting in line for over 30 minutes I was told sorry, we gave your truck away cuz you weren’t here on time. Are you kidding me? I rent a car or have a hotel reservation and if I don’t show up at the exact minute you give my room away? What a joke. So, after regrouping and then spending 40 minutes in line I was finally able to get another truck due to an early drop coming in. The staff was the slowest and most inefficient group I have ever seen - I couldn’t believe how slow things were working here. The storage facility was great and I had no issues once I could finally get my keys to get in, which they also said, sorry, you can’t get in until you get your truck contract.

When I arrived it took them forever to even find my reservation, and when they did they told me I couldn’t get the unit i RESERVED on the 2nd floor because there was construction on the second floor. It then took like an extra 10 minutes for the person to find a new one for me. After that they were confirming the name and address on my reservation and said I couldn’t “have the same address twice” and I was confused and let them know I only live at one address so I don’t have another one to give. We went back and forth a couple times (friendly) and he then said “it’s for emergency contact”. After all that was figured out and said I had to purchase a lock- so I did. He gave me a keycard and explained how it works, by just swiping it to get it. I’m still very confused on the keycard because I don’t know how it works and the doors just open when I walk in. Is it an after hours access card? I dont know. I got up to my storage unit and opened it- there’s already a new lock in it. Sitting right on the floor waiting for me. I had two locks now. I went to return one but the line was viciously long (like 10+) people, service was slow. So I turned around and left.
