The employees were friendly but the Uhaul was covered in ice and partly blocked in by snow. I had to scrape a big chunk of ice off the windshield. I was given and ice scraper but seems like that should have been done beforehand. Especially since there had been a week since last snowfall.NICHOLASALBERT S.
The truck I rented was in the next parking lot. I had to walk through snow and ice to get my truck. A path could have been shoveled. Or better yet, how about the employees have the truck in front of business ready to go. I'm paying to freeze my ass off trying to maneuver through your app on ice inspecting the vehicle. Clean the vehicle of ice and snow. Make sure it's actually full from the previous customer. Don't charge the customer for returning the van with exactly the same amount of gas as it left with. Bring the van around to the front of the store so we don't have to hike through a snow bank to get to it or properly clear the parking lot I have to pull the van out of so I don't have to gun it with a total of 6 feet of clearance to get out of an unshoveled parking spot.AMY LYNNANNE T.

It was iced up and I slipped getting the truck , really messed up trip. Had to clean 2 trucks iced up because one the engine light was on. Over all I'd suggest going there just be prepared.Denis A.

While I was pleased with the way the staff treated me, I was appalled at the state of the storage unit. The four was left open when I arrived, which I thought was to ease my move in. However, I quickly discovered that the door was off the rails, and bent, making it difficult to close. Additionally, the unit was absolutely littered with trash, especially a ton of broken glass and ceramics. I expected it would have at least been swept and checked before I moved in. Had I known it wouldn't be, I would have brought a broom to clean up before unloading. The broken glass was a safety issue, and the damaged door is at best disappointing, and at worst will make accessing my belongings difficult.DIANNE W. | First Impressions

I would consider this move a great experience ... except when refueling. Picked up the truck in Brooklyn with just over 3/8 tank, facing a 110 mile drive in the rain to northern Dutchess County. Fuel gauge was down to near empty halfway there, so had to refuel in Fishkill to make it home. After guessing fuel consumption at 5 mpg, I put in 20 gals, bringing gauge up over 7/8 full. When I dropped the truck off the next morning, it was 3/4 full. However, I was not pleased at all when informed I was not allowed any break or refund for probably half of that 20 gallons. At the very least, I should have been given a credit for half the $70.21 in fuel I bought.JAMESPATRICK G.

The Ulster uhaul was amazing. They fixed all issues and were extremely wonderful. I wish this rating was just for them and not my overall experience. When I got to the uhaul on rt 32 in kingston, the truck was outside. I had signed up for 24/7 pickup. But when I did the online prompts it told me that they were going to bring my truck to me. But the place was closed. It took an hour for it to get fixed and I ended up with a smaller truck. They sent me to another uhaul that only had smaller truck. I had to find someone with a truck to get the last of my furniture. This is not acceptable. My only form of compensation was a 50$ credit toward my next uhaul. Why would I even go through uhaul again after this experience. I will be calling customer service to one, tell them that the uhaul that actually was open and had a truck was amazing, but also to complain that the 24/7 service did not work for me and actually made my move MORE difficult.MATTHEWA P.

The van I rented had a broken taillight. When I brought it to the clerks attention he gruffly told me "I know, there's a sticker on it" he did not move from behind the counter. After searching for the sticker, I finally found a dime sized clear sticker barely visible. Getting in the van it reeked with cigarette smoke. I did not have the time to wait for a replacement as I was on my way out to empty out my deceased uncle's apartment and did not expect a concerned response from the clerk.Paul P.

Could smell that the 2 workers there in the back were vaping. They were in the employees only area every time we went in and would take a minute to come out and it reeked of the shell behind the door.STEPHENMEHDI H.
I rent a lot from this place and never had a problem before till today tried to check in the van before they were open but was getting no where so a worker and told them that I could get the van to check in and he told me not worry they would do it I told them I didnt want to get charged another rental fee because they had to check it in and said I wouldn't because he could see it was back before it was due and they opened.But when I called I was charged for something and they said it was because I brought the van back with not the right amount of gas and thats not true I brought it back with a full tank of gas now I have to wait for a manager to put the $20 bank on my card for the gas charge.I hope they do it before they bill me for the whole thing because of not they are going to make my checking account short and ill get charged by my bank which is not fair to me its not my mess up its there's and bow I have to worry because they messed up.DANIELLER S.

I was given a truck with the engine light on and told it was fine to drive 2500 miles. Then I took it to my mechanic to look over and I was told no way. I called corporate and explained my situation I was told by them as well that it was unsafe to rent this truck. I was given a new truck (against Allen's desires) it was per corporates decision. Then my next issue was charges on my CC that were not discussed with me before charging so I had no idea what they were. I also called to speak with someone regarding returning the truck and NEVER received a call back from GM Nathan as I was told I would...instead I incurred a charge on my CC. This whole rental experience was horrible and I will not be using Uhaul next month for my final move or ever. I also have no intentions of recommending them to family and friends that are planning moves in the near future. Happy to be done with this horrible experience.MELISSA V.

AS A BUSINESS OWNER AND LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR, I HAVE USED UHAUL POUGHKEEPSIE AND Newburgh and had horrific experiences, have spent THOUSANDS with UHAUL (I have a business account) both Amanda and Alan were phenomenal- there's NO PLACE like home (because of THEM I decided to stay with UHAUL) I was headed to Self Storage. Thank you UHAUL OF KINGSTON! For all of my UBOX AND CAR HAULER NEEDS! Also looking to purchase car hauler used and retired for $995 out of VA HQ but UHAUL CORPORATE HASNT GOT BSCK TO ME.
