For a brand new truck it sucks on fuel mileage even if you keep the bar above the line . These american trucks should have the option to switch from miles to kms. Hard to maintain speed without cruise control. And what ever have to the 100-200 km free ? For $519 I could have rented a trailer and did 3 trips and pay on 100 for 3 days. Not overall happy with cost or the vehicle. I will check other vendors next time. As a final note the kids running the place have no customer service experience and the management is a young adult as well were very slow and the wait time was 15min or more with a lineup out the door and only 2 open kiosks

Found whole experience frustrating. I wanted to modify my reservation of a trailer to 1-way and got confusing explanations of how I wouldn’t be able to use the same trailer. I asked about changing size of trailer, and again was advised not to because the system wouldn’t let them do stuff like that. Asked to speak with a manager, and that person was no more helpful. Overall it seemed to me like the reservation system Uhaul uses is so restrictive that it voids all logic from the people’s brains that work at your store.

The limited space to park was a problem. There should be a designated area for customers to park their cars for the 10 minutes it takes to access customer service. Returning the truck was also difficult as there was no space to park until another vehicle left.

The equipment was well maintained as far as brakes, engine, etc. it ran well. It did have previous damage and the inside was dirty from previous user. Overall i recommend this location, I have used it many times with excellent service and vehicles have always been good. Parking onsite would be nice.

The gentleman who helped us with pick up was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. We really appreciated him and his advice. Upon return it was really busy but you had a team outside ready and waiting to help with the quick things so people weren't waiting in long lines to return the vehicles. It was very well done. Extremely busy location with University students and all. At first the young attendant could not find my garanteed, booked car hauler and this caused me a one and a half hour delay. He even wanted me to drive to Brockville to get a car hauler. Thank Gid for the manager, who found my rental in 1o minutes, helped me hook it up and got me on my way, Extremely professional and helpful youn man,

I have rented a truck several times from the Princess Street location in Kingston and it has always been a good experience. The people at the desk are friendly and very helpful with deciding the right size vehicle for your specific needs. The hours of operation are excellent: early morning to evening. They have many vehicles available of various sizes so it's easy to rent a truck, van or trailer for your needs. UHaul has the best prices of all truck/equipment rental. UHaul is the place to go!

I visited the location at shell pump in kingston, I had reservation at 1:30 pm but when I reached there, the guy said “oh there is no truck”. According to the guy he also did not know when the truck will be available also then I called support luckily they picked up in 5-6 minutes then I had to go to other location wasted my almost an hour

The light tongue weight on 5x8 cargo trailer makes empty transport very noisy and somewhat unnerving. Other than that, everything was great.

I was charged $18.42 for fuel which is absolutely a scam and dishonest practice from this location. I picked up with 9/16ths and when I returned it was 9/16ths. I have a picture on my phone to provide as proof. I even offered to show the attendant the pic and he refused to look and was more interested in getting rid of me. This is the stuff that kills the reputation of UHaul and the entire industry. I deserve a full refund of that amount and someone needs to take a look at who is running this facility.

The staff at this location are extremely helpful. The only hitch was that there was nothing available to assist one of our party who was having getting into the cab of the truck, as the runner step is quite high. Perhaps a note could be made on the website so that clients are aware of this and can come prepared. Otherwise, a really good experience.

Guy at call center is American said no military discount? The guy in kingston said they do but need to tell call center. Charged me 300 dollars for 1night( saturday to sunday at 10 am. So I kept it till Monday. On top of that truck waz barely road worthy so they gave me a 30 dollar discount and it was still 300. Truck was not ready with not enough fuel to get to my destination I had to stop at a gas station to fill up. Made tge move day more stressful.

I reserved a trailer in Barrie Ontario sunday morning I get a text that says pick up is in Collingwood an hour away which puts 2 extra hours on my trip Spent over an jour on phone getting transfered around ,then computersays goodbye and hangs up on me If there was another company thst rented the trailer I needed I'd never rent from uhaul ever again

First off, I'm unsure if the "No Onsite Parking" disclaimer when choosing this location is new, or if I missed it when renting, but needing to find somewhere to leave my vehicle without it getting towed with absolutely no help from the staff wasn't a great start to the rental. But again, that might have been on me. That said, from the moment I walked in, the four staff members that were present seemed like they would rather be anywhere else in the world. Any question seemed like it inconvenienced them, and the one woman who was sitting behind the counter legitimately seemed like she hated every interaction, including those with her coworkers. Once I got to the vehicle, the windows had been left open, so there were beetles/insects everywhere in the cabin. The sun shade was still in the window (not sure if this is standard practice) so I needed to store it while I was driving, which took up space that it didn't need to. There was also coffee spilled on the dash/cup holders, and onto the floor. Overall, while I'll likely use U-Haul again in the future due to better experiences in other cities, I'll definitely be looking for a site other than this one in Kingston.

Pretty much all good. Vehicle was fine. Gas estimate was a little generous on U-Haul's part. Mileage was off by 2. Yes, that's only $2 but it was checked by an employee who said it was "all good". It only got corrected because I went back in and reported it. I was then sent link to update this. If I hadn't completed it, the mileage, as checked incorrectly by employee, would have stood.

The "Truck Share" online checkout process was absolutely horrible. It took me more than 30 minutes to finally get my truck out of the lot. Waiting for a verification call to a contact I supplied is absolutely unacceptable. We waited and waited and waited and then there was no call. Just a lot of wasted time on my part and my contact's part. I will never, ever use that ridiculous system to get a truck again. You need to either simplify that process or just get rid of it. It's a hot steaming pile of garbage!!!!!!!

The reason that I posted a poor comment is that we received the wrong rental agreement information. We needed the trailer for two days. The sales person said to rent it for 4 days and if we returned it before that we would receive a credit for the unused days. This is not the fact! When I called the company to dispute, they would not budge, stating that “ you received the wrong information. Be aware and only rent it for the exact time needed. You could always add an additional day.

From check in to return, Michelle's team made everything painless and simple! We were swiftly met outside upon return by a gentleman that kinda resembled Matt Murdock, then the second handsomest man on Michelle's team (behind the Assistant Manager) made sure that we were out quickly and painlessly! Would definitely recommend this location to anyone in need of trucks, trailers, trailer hitches, climate controlled or portable storage containers or even just a friend :). Will be back again.

The broken truck was not picked up for over and hour by the U-Haul contractor and Kingston Police had to end up towing a 26' truck out of an intersection. Not that good at Roadside Assistance at all. My broken down truck was stuck in an intersection for far too long. The wait time to talk to someone is unreasonable for Roadside Assistance.

Easy Peasy. Onsite attendants on May 2, 2026 were very helpful, informative and accommodating. When I arrived at the storage facility, it was very very busy with many vehicles parked in the lot. One of the lot attendants moved a rental trailer so that I could park my mini van close to the entranceway. This made the process of moving big, heavy things out of storage very easy and timely for me. A small yet very generous and courteous gesture like this goes a long way to build brand loyalty. I was surprised how early the cut off was for getting access to the storage facility when I first moved things into it. Other than that, the experience was very good. Staff were extremely helpful. Some staff were argumentative and it was a struggle to try and retrieve items from our unit because the doors were blocked more often than not and when bring items in our out, we would consistently be told not to leave the doors open.

The staff at check and and check out were great. We went two evenings last week to pick up stuf from locker after work. The app said access to locker was 0500-2200 so we were there just before 1700. 2 nights in a row there was a heavier set lady working and she was outside and all she kept saying was is your access 24 hrs? She did not actually come up and have a proper conversation with us. Just basically speaking loudly out in yard. I was unsure of 24hr access but was going by app. She wanted name and locker number making us feel like we were causing disruption to something we knew nothing about. Not professional in sorting anything out or taking time to properly discuss. Locker location and acess and use of carts and the in/out using our code was otherwise just fine.

My storage locker was robbed twice. I lost around 2k worth of stuff (a bike, and some electronics). I have insurance on my Peterborough locker, so I thought I had insurance on this one because I didn't sign an agreement here until after I was robbed- so I assumed it was under the same agreement. Since I don't have insurance here, I'm just out of luck, and I lost all those possessions. No follow up from the manager, no credits given, they wouldn't even show me the video. The staff was nice, but largely ineffective, and didn't take any ownership over the problem. Honestly, the Peterborough U-Haul compared to Kingston is night and day in terms of quality.

I found one girl very rude and ignorant has no clues on customer care especially when we leave money into your paychecks, I was told I'd give that one extra day to remove a bed out of my storage facility they went and put a lock on it and I had to pay an extra month where I lost my keys on 16th had to get a locksmith then that my van broke down cost me $600 to remove my bed that includes the extra $100 fee for an extra month I did not need I went the next day to remove my bed out of the storage locker and there was a lock on the door and the gentleman would not remove it I told the girl never to speak to me again in the phone she speaks with I find some stuff including the manager extremely rude to the people who put a paycheck pockets the manager should have gave me the extra day to remove the bed then the locker would have became available to rent to others, I'm not impressed with the conduct of one girl and one or two staff members there they need to improve their customer relations8

Didi not have a larger unit available as per rep mentioned the morning I visited. I would have appreciated a call to confirm it was the smaller unit and try to find two together. As I booked a truck I received one month free rental but that only applied to one unit not the second that was needed. I feel due to the amount of money I have spent with U-Haul, the second unit fee could have been waived for the month as well.

I paid for the storage unit, added items into the unit locked it and left. The next afternoon I return to the unit and find a lock from uhaul on the door that says I haven't paid my fee. So I proceed to front counter and show my receipt for it being paid and was let into my storage unit. This was very inconvenient to say the least. I do not see how paying 216.00 is worth being locked out of my unit the next day, this needs to be remedied or I will leave the facility and find somewhere else to use for storage. Is anyone going to make this better ?

when working/sorting things in our storage unit 1813, the hallway light often went off and made it pretty dark in there. wish the sensor lights stayed on a bit longer. I also found it a bit challenging accessing the entrance for unloading/loading. Access cards would be so much handier than walking-in the main office when staff are often so busy or not available.

But for three months they were charging me extra money and the manager instead of fixing the issue was insulting me that they did not charge me extra money until I called Uhaul customer service and they open a case for me and fixed the issue. When I was at the location everything was amazing. Wonderful staff and very clean place. I had trouble contacting the office. I live 7 hours away so needed to speak to someone at the facility. I called at least 40 times at different times and no one ever answers the phone. It goes to the call center. The wait time can be an hour to speak to someone and then they are unable to answer the question because they are not at the facility. I even tried speaking to my local uhaul to see if they could get through. The answer was no. Even though it is a pandemic, I think the local phone should be answered. Thanks

Got instigated about smoking the vehicle when explained I wasn’t smoking in It, a young guy looked at me and said are you sure you weren’t smoking darts. Not impressed at all.

Since there is a 200 character limit all I can say is that after my experiences I will never recommend u-haul to anyone nor will I use it ever again. It’s prettu clear no one knows how to do their job

Used location twice over the last 13 yrs.Moved out & was indicated that I would get a partial refund (by Mgr) for pretty much a month's rent.No contact from U-haul despite calling/Email them.Disapp'd.

The truck felt like I wouldnt make it across the street. Dangerous steering column. Poor brakes. The staff are cold too customer and each other. Not one smile or a thank you. I felt sad for them

The uboxs were late and I had a very difficult time trying to talk with a person at the Kingston location. Though I did speak with several people that were helpful this comment box does not have enoug

Staff at the facility seemed overwork and were always in a rush. I was never given a clear path between my u-box and my vehicle. I had to move around obstacles each time.

The Kingston staff are fantastic, and accommodating ... There is only one pragmatic online person ( her husband is in the Navy in San Diego) All the rest Should not be picking up the phone for you.

Overall U-Haul storage facilities are great. Clean, secure and welll maintained. I never got the after hours code so I was not able to access the facility. I only need this once so not an issue.
