The floorboards of the van I rented were very very slick.. I lost my footing on multiple occasions. I appreciate the van was detail cleaned but whatever is used on the floor is unsafe. And upon returning the equipment there wasn't any indication of what to do. I parked the van, and I sign says to wait for someone, I waited 10 minutes and no one came by. I went inside and there was still no clear indication of what to do. After I finally had someone take the key I sat in my personal vehicle for a few minutes to verify my email where I was then yelled at by an employee to "move your car, that's not a parking spot, I gotta park the truck". There were no markings or signs to establish this and motioned to the other vehicle sitting beside me before leaving...DANIEL H.

covid made for a very impersonal experience and i received the wrong equipment once i got home - plus they never answered their phone the entire day 3/29/2021Jacquelyn H.
I was on hold for over 1 hour before anyone even answered the phone but the reason I called in the first place was cause they charged me for another rental day even tho I got a call the day before and they confirmed that I returned the trailer before it was due. I rented a 6x12 enclosed trailer from the Delphi, IN location online where it stated it was $50 guaranteed to be there. When I showed up the trailer was in another town. The Lafayette location was contacted and had one available but to drop off closer to my home was going to be about $40 more. I asked both locations about the $50 guarantee and no one knew how to do it without calling multiple people. Due to time restraints and not wanting to drive an hour out of my way each way to return I had to pay the full amount. I understand that situations arise when people drop stuff off at the wrong location but when people just say sorry you have to do this it is a terrible image. Plus how can they charge an outrageous amount more for you to drop off at another location? Sounds like the company just wants to make as much money as they can when people are trying to move. This is the second time I have reserved online and driven out of my way to pick up equipment because of the online service being inaccurate. I believe I will be taking my business elsewhere because the headache of trying to get the right equipment at the right time at the right place is not worth it.KYLE P.

Accused of taking blanket in back of truck, no one in my crew touched it, cause it wasn't there! No one inspected truck with me before leaving, I did not look, but got charged for blanket! When I made my reservation I was told I could drop the u-haul off @ a different location then where I rented the u-haul. Then when we went to pick it up was told we had to take the u-haul back to the same location after already being told we could drop it off closer to where we moved. The lady then said if we didn't bring it back out would be a $100 more.Debra N.
The truck I rented had no windshield washer fluid in it and it was bad winter weather out, so it was necessary that it should have had some. The website to return equipment after hours is difficult to get to, this is the second time I tried to do it and couldn't do it so I had to pay the extra $20 fee for that. Other than that the truck was in good shape and clean and the equipment operated well.GREGG F.
All Uhaul staff seemed very confused by the ubox shipping process. As a customer, there was a disconnect between what was posted on the website and how the transaction actually went in person. Additionally much of the tracking infrastructure on the uhaul website was either nonfunctional or flat out incorrect and contributed significantly to confusion.Cole P.
This was the worst experience I've ever had.... I opted to use the 24 hour service... The location forgot to leave my key in the box.... I had to wait until the next day.. The truck was difficult to find initially as it was not where the counter associate said it was. Aside from that, it was a pleasant experience with all associates being friendly and helpful. Of the equipment, I will say that the speedometer was reporting high. I keep a gps speedometer on my phone and use it rather that the dash speedometer but do compare the two. Also, the shift points, especially from second to third gear seemed labored. You might consider a transmission inspection.DAVID W.

Local u haul mgr stated i have a $160 balance bc I wasn't moved out before the 13th. U haul at no time can force renew. I chose not to renew and I should have no balance. If u haul deems a late fee of $15 is necessary, I will pay it, but I do not owe $160. Mgr was rude, and she issued a no trespass order on myself when she was the one in the wrong. I left because I could save $71 a month on a same-size unit. So I moved my things to Affordable Family Storage, right next door. Also, the ceiling above my unit dumped lots of little dirt and what looked like plaster chips on top of my furniture. The facility outside of my unit was clean, but the ceiling above my unit was not in good repair and left debris on my things. It wasn't so much that I'd move, but it was annoying. Yet when I learned I could have a better roof and save big $$$ each month, I bolted. Finally, I was told at the beginning of my stay with U-Haul, that we pay a month ahead, so imagine how disappointed I was at the end to learn you would not refund me my unused days after just paying rent through October 27th. I call that theft. As long as I live in Lafayette, I cannot recommend your facility to anyone. I am fully aware that eventually the rates will go up at my new unit. But until that time, I am saving $852 a year over what you charged. Since I am on a fixed income, THAT is a LOT of money!Pamela G. | Overall Experience

On our way cleaning out the storage I was approached in a rude manner by a woman who worked there. However, Kathi has been a joy! I’ve stored there for the last 3 years and Kathi has been attentive. Caring and thorough. If there was a problem Kathi would quickly address is and rectify it with the best customer service possible. It outweighs the actions of others there.
