Properties were clean and representatives polite, the individual U-Haul dealers have all been polite and helpful. What can U-Haul do to improve for the next customer? All vehicles should have regular, full maintenance (not just quick checks at local dealers) with a maintenance log that follows each truck and is made available to every U-Haul dealer and costumer to assure safe and uneventful trips for each and every costumer. Regular maintenance, similar to that require by other professional truck companies, would help alleviate issues of the aging fleet of trucks owned by U-Haul. (and according to sources in the company, there are more of them in use that should not be used for cross country trips - so renter beware, ask for the age of the truck you are renting and the last full maintenance that it received) It would also be wise for every area U-Haul center that must respond to breakdowns to be well stocked with all necessary replacement parts so that it isn't necessary for mechanics to pull parts form other vehicles in an emergency, especially at night and on weekends. And one last thing - listen to the mechanics who are on the scene of a breakdown - don't tell them to keep trying. It does no good to try to beat a dead horse (or truck) if they say they can't fix it on scene, believe them and send a tow. The vehicle that we rented broke down and we ended up on the side of the road for 9 hours waiting for 5 hours for a mechanic to show up and another 4 for him to try to fix the problem. - and that is with us telling him what was wrong, no guessing - it wasn't and easy switch the battery. The battery light was blinking on and off because the alternator was going out. It didn't take long for the battery to go out and the truck to lose power once the alternator quit working. We lost a complete day because roadside service would not give us a replacement truck but insisted that it could be fixed in the dark with a part that had to be taken off another vehicle and put on the truck that we had. When the Mechanic arrived (two hours later than the time we were given because he had to pull the part from the other truck) and then worked for 3 and a half hours trying to put things back together I finally insisted that we get a tow, (something that he told headquarters that we needed when a part was not available to begin with and several times when he called and told them that he couldn't fix it under the circumstances). When I spoke to David on the phone, I told him I was done with waiting and that I demanded a tow, a new truck and movers to transfer the load to the new truck, he insisted that there was no need to do that because it would be fixed quickly once the truck was towed in. He told me that a mechanic would be waiting with the extra parts to fix it and we would be on our way within a short period of time.The truck was towed and dropped off but no information from roadside service was given to the manager at the new lo

Difficult to drive coach out of facility. Main entrance often blocked by rental trucks and trailers. Back gate has drop off that caused coach to drag when driving out.

Lower the mileage rates. The pick up truck is $19.95 after insurance and literally going from Lewisville to TWU in Denton then back my total was $70.00. Seems to be some false advertising. That to me personally was expensive but overall great services.

The young gentleman who helped me inside the store was nice and friendly. He was also new, and so the process of fulfilling the pre-reserved truck took longer. Additionally, if the staff would please do more diligence in checking the gas gauge of outgoing trucks. The staff paperwork said my truck had 7/8 of a tank. It didn't. It had 5/8 of a tank when I left out of the parking lot. I called U Haul Customer Svc and reported the discrepancy and ask it be noted. I also took a picture of it immediately. The phone agent simply said "Okay, thank you." Dead silence. I asked, "Is that it? That's 1/4 tank discrepancy, which in a gas tank that size makes a difference." The agent did not indicate taking any action to remedy. So, on that size truck it's about a 28-30 gallon tank, so I'm out $25-30 (7-7.5 gallons at $2.75/gallon) because the gas tank isn't properly read by the location staff. Yes, I brought it back completely full gas tank. Feel free to check with the staff in Greeley, CO where I dropped it off. Bring things back better than they were given to me - that's what I do. Finally, there was difficulty with the drop off location. Night before I picked the truck up, I identified a dropoff location in Loveland, CO I wanted to drop the truck. When I went to UH to pick up the truck, that location didn't pull up in UH system (and it is a UH branded location). We ended up choosing "Pick A Location", which the new clerk told me I could determine a drop off location once I got up to Colorado. That isn't what that means. Next morning I got a text, saying UH had picked a location in Denver for me to drop the truck. No, I don't want to fight horrible Denver traffic after putting my things in storage an hour north of Denver. So, I had to call UH Cust Svc again, y'all through identifying a dropoff location close to Greeley where I stored my belongings. There was a location 10 minutes away, in Greeley. Why didn't that location pull up when (1) I was looking for a dropoff location online, or (2) I was in the store in Lewisville, Tx, making the dropoff arrangements? UH's system of locating sites to drop off is very, very flawed. Broken. Online and in the store. In summary, I'm not pleased at having to eat $25-30 for the 1/4 tank of gas I took the hit for. Aside from that and the still-learning associate, and the dropoff location fiasco, all was fine.

The box was supposed to be delivered to Grapevine, Tx. I called to make sure that will be done but we had to drive to Lewisville several times in order to empty it. We found that very inconvenient.
