The other employee also had great customer service skills. Both are Excellent Representatives of U-Haul, and how customer service should be. Truck was extremely dirty, windshield was so dirty you could hardly see out and washer fluid was empty, box was not swept out, had some kind of oil or fluid leak that was dripping on exhaust and smoking.

When l reserved a truck. 4 days in advance. And when l called to see if l could pick it up a half hour early. I was told l was unable to get it. Because they over booked. And had to get a smaller truck. I wasnt happy. So maybe next time not over book.

I think it's always understaffed. There was a rather lengthy queue with just one person manning the front desk turning a 15 minute transaction into an hour long event.

This place is always understaffed. Long lines. Did the mobile checkout, and my truck was not ready and was pinned in behind another truck. I asked the employee if he could move the truck in front, and he replied with me needing to fill out a new contract. Thankfully, I fought for him to move the truck, because the person at the end of the line told me they'd already been waiting for 45 mins to get help, even though they already had a reservation. Also, I ordered a dolly. It wasn't in the truck, so had to ask to get a refund on that. Not sure if that'll even happens. It's just one more thing I'll have to keep tabs on in the coming days. We'll definitely avoiid this location at all costs. We are always waiting around every time we've rented from here. Not worth it

Mirror on the passenger side door kept swiveling. I couldn't see to make lane changes or back up. Employee's solution was to wrap electrical tape around it, which made it slightly usable.

I have yet to hear from the manager regarding $50 for not having my reservation. The store upgraded at no charge however it was still inconvenient to drive a bigger truck. They tried to tell me they barely found out the truck (that was suppose to be mine) had a dead battery.. do you guys not check your vehicles prior to a reservation time? My out of pocket was about $45 which is great but if your going to say we'll have your reservation or give you $50.. and then instead just trade up to make it "better" still doesn't hold up the advertised $50 I'm entitled, no?

After completing everything online ahead of time I still had to wait in line 30 mins. When they finally gave me a truck it reeked of urine. When I told them they knew about it and said someone rented it and sat in a pee pad. Absolutely disgusting! Why would they rent this vehicle out with that stench? The only truck they had left had a steering problem. They said it was an issue with the power steering and they needed to be repaired but they still rented it to me. I drove it and felt I'd be ok and had people waiting at my house to move so I couldn't wait for them to find another 15' truck somewhere else. They shouldn't be letting customers drive off with trucks that need repair.

I had called a couple of times for quotes on different ways to move our belongings in order to find the cheapest way. Spoke to owner and he let me know his staff made 8 different reservations under my name (any time i called or made a change to a reservation, they created a completely new one). Up until the day before we were supposed to leave, the uhaul staff was still under the impression that I was driving across the country (because I called for a QUOTE which someone turned into an actual reservation), instead of shipping a ubox. We were told by the owner that we could load up our U-Box 3 days earlier than we originally intended to (due to leaving earlier than expected) and he kept the reservation date the same because he didn't trust his own staff to not mess anything up. Therefore, my ubox sat in the same location for 3 extra days, and no one bothered to call and get it picked up. It wouldn't have been a big deal if it would have at least been picked up on the original reservation date... but instead it was picked up other 2 days after that! A total of 5 days late... when they had 3 extra days to call scheduling. I was told over the phone that it would be here by Dec 12. Now, my ubox is supposedly going to be here on the 15th. Prior to it FINALLY shipping, I spent a total of 60-70 minutes on HOLD throughout the day trying to figure out where my ubox was, and if it had even been picked up. I was transferred to Ubox, who told me that it was Lemon Groves responsibility to let them know they had a Box that needed to be shipped (which they failed to do for 5 days). I then was told by the customer service rep (whom I was forwarded to due to long hold times) who gave me a checklist of people to call just to make sure everyone else at uhaul was doing their job (scheduling department, ubox, lemon grove location) For $1800, I should not have to make ANY phone calls and babysit this company in order to receive my belongings. If your employees cannot do their job, and the owner himself does not trust them to not get confused or mess something up by changing my reservation date, fire them or give me some kind of compensation because I never got paid to do their job for them. It is already arriving 3 days later than what I would told on the phone. I am not the only person having this problem, specifically with a Ubox at this location, judging by all the negative reviews and similar stories as mine. I could not even get a straight answer by the staff in regards to how I am supposed to pay for the ubox, as if it was their first time ever having a customer ship their items. The only person in the entire store who was helpful was the owner (Rich). I am extremely disappointed in the lack of organization, lack of knowledge, lack of listening skills, lack of... doing their job.

This is by far the best location. I had a really rocky start with an online reservation and worked with customer service to cancel my first order and just go to the Massachusetts location that I always knew provided excellent service, and I'm so glad that I switched to just going to my tried-and-true Massachusetts location. Rios is absolutely AMAZING. He had such a personable attitude and has you leaving with a smile on your face even if you entered a bit tense and stressed out (like I did). Rios has such an upbeat attitude and is so great at what he does. Rios and Latrese work so well together. When we dropped off the truck, Latrese was so professional and helpful. These two are rockstars and juggle everything with such ease. Customers arriving, phones ringing, adding last minute items to an order—everything. I am beyond impressed.

Gina, the marketing manager, and Daniel Rios, the general manager, we both service-oriented and compassionate. Kelli, the assistant manager, however, was not. She did not look for solutions and has rigid and uncompromising decision making tendencies, which is not helpful to customers, especially during an unprecedented pandemic. Gina was amazing through. She acknowledged my concerns and apologized, which is everything to a customer, and she followed up to ensure resolution was reached. In doing so, she'll have a repeat customer and referrals from me.

I made a reservation for 0830. I was in the location at 0823. I was standing in line for 6 minutes before manager Rios finally spoke to the woman BEHIND me. He finally asked if i had a reservation which I did. Im not sure if he is just not a morning person or if he was having a bad day or what, but he was absolutely rude. Took forever called secondary on speaker but didnt tell me. Told me to complete walk around but didnt give further instructions. I called him over for help with a cracked bumper and he seemed irritated to help. He then reluctantly added damage stickers and sent me on my way. I will NEVER visit this location again. I have visited so many uhauls in the past and this is by far the WORST location ive ever visited until I returned my vehicle to Martinez. He was amazing and very sweet. Very attentive and explained the charges that would return to my card and asked if I had any questions. Manager Rios on the otherhand needs some customer service training to be completed again. locking mechanism on trailer door was rusty and hard to use. Staff was slow and unenthusiastic. checked in ahead of time on phone, but staff made me do everything all over. also called secondary number which no other location has ever done.

I feel for the employees at this location. All employees were pleasant but working under terrible circumstances. Equipment was vandalized making it difficult to meet customers needs. Manager did the best he could but I'm surprised he was able to maintain his composure. All in all I will not return to that location and I am unsure if I will ever use U-Haul again. If anyone in upper U-Haul management cares to call I can explain the issue I encountered with fuel as well. Thank you, Gene Harrel

Worst experience !!! Never again ! Had to change 4 different reservations with confirmations. CORP customer service (the worst) had us running around San Diego to differ locations because they didn't have the size we reserved!!!!! Total rat race ! Ended up spending 500 more due to the lack of communication and no UHAULS IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!! Don't take reservations if you can't fulfill the reservation!!!! That simple!!!! Others in line were also experiencing same issues. Put us 2 days late on moving. Didn't seem to really care. Never again. The gentleman that helped us at lemon grove was the best at getting us set up. All of this had nothing to do with him. It was the corporate side! All the employees at Lemon grove were awesome helpful and professional !!!!! It's all the customer service corporate side and website allowing you to reserve a trailer/truck that they don't have!!!!

I ordered online for reservations for a truck. I specifically choose no extra insurance offered by U-Haul to save some money and only being 3 blocks away to new home. But was charged $14. Unable to refund for insurance once returned truck. That is not right to charge for something not asked for.

Great service , at this location !! U-Haul needs to be a little more picky about their agent franchisees. Stop giving them out to just anyone with a pulse. I went to two other "Agents" , one was the liquor counter of a local supermarket , and English wasn't even their 2nd language. The experience was so bad I took my ID and credit card back and left . The second was a not any better . Try vetting them for a change . It's YOUR COMPANY they are poorly representing . Just a thot .

On Friday July 31st, everything was excellent great customer service dispit the traumatic experience everyone dealt with, the online had a mess of things but Levi helped us and accommodating me in my time of need. On Sunday the 8/2/20 I had a different experience I did not receive the care like on Friday, I was not pleased with how the day turned out due to not having all information. On 8/4/20 my storage had a flood and Levi again went above and beyond helping me get my unit in order, Daniel the manager went above and beyond as well. I’m happy they helped me.

So unorganized. Every single step of the way there were problems. Staff needs to be trained. Very poor customer service. You kept incorrectly billing me and I would call to fix it. Thinking it was resolved I then would receive emails saying I still owed. This happened multiple times. I then went in person and they would look up my account and say everything was fine. I then would receive another email so back in person I went- 4 different times. I spent so much time on the phone and going into the facility to resolve your mistakes. Then you sent my emergency contact a bill-this was my father and it got him very upset thinking I wasn't paying my bills. My dad had a heart attack and stroke a year ago and upsetting him was extremely upsetting to me. Final straw, I moved out and went to the office to inform you all that I was moving. I was assured I was moving out on time and would not be billed. I was billed and told I was late and there would be a lean on my property which is a joke since I emptied out the storage unit. You guys have your heads up you know where. Never doing business with uhaul again.

Management permits homeless to live in units. They pretend they don't allow it but they don't do anything to stop it. I moved out of the unit with belongings filled with roaches. Just terrible!

They were under staffed and had no functioning forklift. My U-Boxes had to come on 3 separate trailers, taking up way too much space and making the unloading process much more difficult.

You all don't seem competent in what you do. The fact that I had to talk to the manager to point me to the right unit and that we had to get another manager to remove the extra charge is ridiculous.

Drop off requirements don’t match the dates in contract i.e. when contract says final day is 5/5 you must return vehicle or keycard by 5pm on 5/4 which pushes customers time frame.
