The person that made the drop off experience a great one is MELINDA CABRERA. Contacting U-haul 800 number was very frustrating because of loooonng hold/wait on the phone. Melinda eased the frustration. My son was to return the trailer in Manteca, a town he is not familiar with, and couldn't get a hold of anyone. I made the call to U-haul 800# - waited for a long time - until Melinda took my call. Melinda stayed with me on the phone, helped me (I'm in AZ) and my son until matters were resolved. They never explained on a in town rental I had to pay miles . I asked why it cost 100) more than it should they said that was a deposit. When I took it back they said it was the charge fir miles. Although the staff was friendly, there was also a lot of miscommunication. From the time my Uboxes were delivered to my former home in CA on 10/19/21 to the time they were delivered here in TX on 11/17/21, it was complete frustration on my part. The customer service was not good on both ends. The last reason I was given as to why my Uboxes were not returned to the local office was there was no one available because your one driver was off. I don't begrudge anyone taking some time off but maybe next time only book as many as you can handle. The boxes sat in my driveway for a week and a half allowing me only to half my driveway. Well, lets start with the original â€œguaranteedâ€ reservation pickup Lodi, Ca 11/26/21. Then I get a call, sorry it will be pickup in Stockton at this address and â€œ guaranteedâ€ oh, you will get a $50. Refund. Again, so no it is pick up at this location in Stockton â€œguaranteedâ€. We arrive at the second address in Stockton and what do you know, but you have to pick it up in Manteca â€œ guaranteedâ€ oh and 40 miles extra. They sent me a text at 8:13 am, I do not read texts while I drive and also pick up was 8 am. I will never recommend the company.SAUNDRA H.

1ST and LAST time we will ever use Uhaul and UBOX again. Most stressful move I've ever had because of Uhaul and the BS they put my family and I through. They changed my pickup dates, charged me for a 4th box, even when boxes weighed less than 2,000 lbs and were already pickuped from my house and dropped off at the Manteca location. Customer service needs much improvement. Customer should not have to look for the truck they have keys to. I had a reservation and I'm disabled. Also digital mileage cheats the customer, I drove out of the parking lot to the signal (lights) mileage changed adding a mile to my charges. Upon returning the truck no one around to be seen. Waited at least 5 minutes and still no one. Went inside and waited for a few more minutes until a girl came out of the office and I had to ask her where are the employees to check in the truck. Very unprofessional customer service. And they are now $1.09 a mile instead of 0.79 cents. And truck rental fees have increased.BRIGETTE T.

Vicky was awesome booking a reservation after a particular location's manager/owner ripped up my contract after claiming I was racist. I had let the staff at the store location where my reservation was made know that the rate quote was over $80 more than what they were wanting to charge me. This had nothing to do with race. I accepted the charge and the owner became irate stating i was racist for denying my interest in requiring an explanation. Ultimately this wasted about 5 hours of my day due to now having to track down and reserve equipment at another location. I now cannot recommend the California street Stockton location to anyone amd feel sorry for the nice lady who was assisting me before the owner began his tirade. He later threatened to kick my ass outside the store. Complete disappointment. Uhaul should ask the lady in the store about thia weekends incedent. They would be shocked. Uhaul messed up our reservation by trying to say we had put in our reservation a day later than we had. Then they transferred our reservation to a location that was already closed (and significantly further away, resulting in higher mileage costs), so we couldn't get our truck in time. The app user interface is absolute trash and is basically nonfunctional. Renting from uhaul made every single step of our moving experience 10 times harder than it needed to be.Joseph M.

The rental facility was nice but the experience was horrible. To start, my reservation was shortened to 24 hours without notice. I needed a vehicle for longer so I had to make another reservation for the next day but couldn't find one at the same location. I was late picking up the 2nd truck because we had to return the 1st one at one location then drive to another for the pick up. Because I was late, UHaul automatically canceled my reservation. Fortunately, there was a truck available nearby. I was able to drive a few miles away to pick up this vehicle. All in all, the reservation process was horrendous and there was little regard , if any for the trouble this caused for me or the other people with reservations longer than 24 hours. If it wasn't for a need to rent one of these vehicles, I would much rather go through another company next timeMARK N.

After renting a U-Haul van, I asked the young lady inside if any small 5x5 storage units were available for rent. She indicated that there were not, and took my contact information to be put onto a waiting list. A day or two later, I went to the uhaul.com website on a whim and checked for 5x5 availability, and it seemed there were 5x5 units available the whole time, so I went ahead and rented one online. After hours access works fine, but there really should be a note posted adjacent to the door stating that, after the access code is entered, the renter has to pull *hard* to open the door.
