When we picked up the staff wasn't the friendliest. When I dropped off there was one girl and lots of customers. At pickup I was very unhappy to find that I was paying for a full day but had to return it by 6pm because she said someone else had rented the truck and was picking up after 6. Your employees at the Mechanicsville location were excellent. From the woman who took my reservation the week prior, to the women who gave me the truck and checked it out at the end of the day, they were all very affable and professional. I got the truck that I wanted when I wanted it. That is a critical factor for coming back to this location. Website and pre-check in were also excellent, easy to navigate and sped up the whole process.Mark L.
Although the parking area is small, I never encountered a problem with having a parking space available. The representative is always professional and efficient. I'm usually in and out in leads than 15 mins. I go to this location whenever I need to rent a van. Very knowledgeable. When I need to extend my time, I just call and I'm all set.Arlene B.
The rep. Natasha was pleasant and reached out to confirm my rental after I missed the time requested ; changing the date and time was so easy with her and I was very surprised. Her tone was always nice and displayed she was there to help you and make it easy to do business. While this location did an amazing job of fixing my problem, I had originally reserved my truck at the U-Haul Neighborhood Dealer located at 300 W Williamsburg Rd, Sandston, VA 23150, and when I showed up, the business was closed. After 40 minutes on hold with "customer service" I was hung up on. The only way I was able to fix the situation was to call a different location (the Elm Dr. one) and rent a new truck. I am apalled at how bad your customer service line is and how difficult it was for me to rectify a mistake made on your end, especially during something as stressful as moving day. The Mechanicsville spot was great which is why I am giving it 4 stars, because they are not at fault, but I'd give zero stars to your customer service and the w williamsburg road location.Sean C.
There is a sign for equipment return that tells the customer to stop and stay in the equipment until someone comes to do the check in. I had a dirty, oily rag in the truck that smelled like a garage and the front window was so dirty and smudged that I had to stop and clean it myself in order to be safe. Otherwise the rental/return process was simple and efficient and the truck performed as needed.Curtis M.

At the time I rented the storage unit, I was assured that the first month was free and thereafter all additional payments would be automatically billed to the credit card on file. Then about the time the storage fee is due, I start getting all these phone calls stating that my payment is overdue. I go in to make the payment and I get charged a $15-20 late payment fee. That’s when I am informed that autopay was never set up! Not a happy customer at this point. Is there anyone who’s willing to remedy this? In addition, they said they sent me a receipt for my payment on storage facility. Never arrives in my email. Have to call back, stay on hold for 15 minutes, they email me a receipt but nothing to show what was billed to the card. Now, have to call back and request receipt again. I never got into my unit without having to wait. The access was ALWAYS blocked with trucks being returned, being clean out after return or just sitting in the driveway. I received a free 30 day storage unit. The owner/employee manually opened the gate for me and I enter the facility to unload/load my items into my newly acquired unit. Upon completion of unloading I proceeded to exit the storage. Prior to leaving I put my code (which was created & provided by the owner/employee) into the gate access kiosk & it opened. I returned the next evening around 8:18pm and my code was denied. Same code, same location. The only difference is it was the entry kiosk. The evening prior I used my code in the exit kiosk. I was continually denied access. I was told by the owner & it’s also on their website, that access hours are 5am-10pm. I’ve been waiting almost an hour & have been on hold with corporate for over 30 minutes & counting. I had no problems from the facility... But when doors were replaced and locks were changed.. many issues afterwards all stemming from the poor quality of locks that were provided by uhaul... No management in place at facility to help.. still charged fully even though I couldn't access my belongings over a 3 month period. I requested a manager to call me, never received one...
