Truck was very dirty inside the back license plates fell off while driving on the road .My husband was driving it and I was behind the truck ... I saw when plates fell off it could have caused an accident when I had to stop and put my emergency flash lights to pick up the plates... These plates are not screwed in it only clicks with plastic should be screwed in.... Please check these on all trucks... so they won’t fall off... And the miles on the truck was not updated in the system someone is not doing their job..I told them before driving it that the mileage was less than it appeared in the system.

Easiest rental ever. Cleanest location and truck ever. Friendly staff. Only rented for a couple hours, wish there was a price break on miles charged, especially when the same truck can be rented again on the same day.

I give the Melrose Park location a great review. However, this was the THIRD location Uhaul made me go through in order to get my truck. My experience from Uhaul and the previous locations that gave away my trucks was unacceptable.

I had already reserved online and supposively It was in and out and I actually waited a good ten minutes to actually get going it felt like I was getting the van at the time and felt like I had to wait as a Walk in

We had a difficult time locating our keys this morning and reaching customer service during our time of need. Specifically, our keys were not located in the correct lock box indicated during the time of check-in. We had to call customer service since it was before office hours and were not able to get through to customer service for a while. Once we finally got through, we had to stand outside in the cold and open each lock box to search for our keys. While it’s an honest mistake, it was extremely cold and to stand outside and search for our keys was extremely difficult and it cost us time for our move, resulting in us having to pay extra time for our movers to move our items this morning since we were delayed.

My original plan and drop off location was 665 North Hallstead St. ZIP Code 60654, once I arrived at this place the man in the guard shed said he would not except a trailer at this location, which is the location I had picked and planned all along, he was very unfriendly not very accommodating and I also saw trailers in the lot, I had to spend roughly an hour of my own time locating another drop off point in the Chicago area thank God that location took the trailer, I just want to let you know the Halsted Street location was a horrible experience,So my point is if they did not except trailer is at the location why was I able to pick that as a drop off spot

The drop-off was very quick and painless. the store was open when I returned and I was able to deal with a human and in-person. Kudos! The pickup on the other hand was a nightmare. After making the reservation I downloaded the app as instructed. The app never worked the entire time because it could not find my reservation. waste of my time. Strike one! I spent about an hour setting up my account with my license and everyting the day before my pick up so that everything would go smoothly for pick up. I arrived at 7:00am for my 7:00 reservation. I spent several minutes checking in on line. it didn't work. I then received a call from one of your representatives she told me that I had taken the lincense pictures out of order and that I had to redo them. this meant I had to start over. she was not able to swap them on her end. Strike two. she also told me that she needed to call someone for verification. I'm still not sure what she was trying to verify. I asked why that couldn't have happened the day before when I set up my account? (Strike three!) she didn't know. after checking in for the second time a different person called me to say she needed to call someone for verification. waste of my time because I had already told the first woman a person to call. Strike four! I finally was able to leave with the truck at 8:00am. ONE HOUR TO CHECK OUT! Strike five! I then get a text that tells me that my 10 hour rental period started at the time of my reservation (7) and not at the time I actually left the lot (8) Strike six! I ordered a furniture dolly and 12 moving blankets. I got a truck with a two wheel hand truck and five pads. I figured that the hand truck was what you called a furniture dolly and I didn 't know that the blankets I got were not the 12 I was supposed to get. Strike Seven! After my return, I get a call from the store looking for the 12 blankets and furniture dolly that I never got. So, not only did I not get something I paid for you did not have any record of me not getting them. instead your records errantly showed that I did get them. and then tried to call me on it. Strike Eight! after telling the guy on the phone that I didn't get what I ordered he made no effort to try to credit me for the mistake. Strike Nine! So, to follow my Baseball analogy, that is nine strikes. Congratulations you managed the strike out three batters. Your system sucks!!! I wasted two hours of my time AFTER I received reservation confirmation. I bill my time at $170/hr. that is $340 gone. plus getting charged for something I did not receive. YOU SUCK!!

Trucks interior and cargo lights did not work, which made working in the back rather difficult. I would say please check to make sure all lights (interior and exterrior) are working when doing maintenance.

Open trailers should be free of snow before the customer picks up the equipment unless it’s snowing the same day. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Over all I used this location for rentals 3 times this month.

Great staff at the Melrose Park U-Haul store. Resolved my issue with pod and had unit ready for me the morning of my loading. Fast and efficiently had my rental cargo van ready for me the same morning.

It took a really long time to get my van. There were only two people working the desk (both so nice) but just having two people staffed cut into my time which set me back about 30/ 40 minutes. When I asked if I could extend, they said I couldn't bc of another reservation which I understood. The staff that was there was great! Also, the location of my pick-up got changed at 7 pm the evening before which was further away and inconvenient for me.

Oneg came out and I assisted him on how to correctly hook up the trailer and hitch. I am in the trucking industry but my experience is with class 8 trucks not smaller ball and hitch units. Oneg was super cool and extremely helpful from start to finish. I would have no problem at all Referring anyone to the Melrose Park, ILLINOIS location.

Make sure that your employees know where the location of the drop off for the truck is and that there must be an attendant present to make it easier for the customer I ended up in a location and Warehouse where there was nobody the truck was lost no one knew where it was I was getting constant phone calls why I didn't return the truck it was a nightmare.

I made a reservation at your Forest Park Location as it was closest to my location, checked in online and went at my prescribed pickup time and they did not have a truck for me and said my reservation was transferred to Melrose Park, being less than happy I traveled to Melrose Park U-haul where I entered the store and waited 20 minutes before any employee even showed up. I was then told they did not have a truck for me, and my reservation was transferred to Downers Grove! (Which is another 30 min away, and would have been easier to get to from the Forest Park Store). Rather than waste more time running around I agreed to take a smaller truck and drive it round trip vs one way. Unfortunately the truck ended up being too small for my load and now I need to take the additional time and expense to rent another truck tomorrow to finish moving! In Addition I rented moving pads and equipment I did not use as the additional items could not fit on my truck that they were needed for. U-Haul has ruined my move! They do not honor their reservations!

This location is fine. The new app and over night drop off is a complete nightmare. Then on top of that they want to screw your with a $20 convenience fee if you don’t use their app which didn’t work in Safari...scam!

This drop off location was actually fine. My low rating comes from the overall experience. I will just copy me review for the first place here again : "App had issues. Was stuck on waiting for approval for 45 mins. I tried calling. Was on hold for 30 mins before giving up. Truck had damage to it that was not noted in pictures. Luckily I took pictures of everything before I left."

I visited this location twice. Once to return a truck and a second time for storage. The staffs were nice, facilities look new and this place seems well-organized. Both times there were no lines.
