Went to pick up uhaul and they had 2 options in the size we reserved- one with no working right tail-light and one with a door that did not close. This is the second time renting (first from a different location) and the first time they also tried to give us a trailer without working brake lights. Frustrated with uhau;. When you have an appointment why cant they have a functioning trailer ready?!

The vehicle gas tank was empty when I picked it up. Causing me to drive in the wrong direction of my work to get gas. I was then late to pick up the my employee and the equipment I rented the truck for., I anticipated the vehicle would have been cleaned due to Covid restrictions but it was filthy. You desk people didn't show any regrets for the delay they were causing me. I promise to give them an appropriate review on line.

Hire more staff and enlarge the waiting area. Some like the link to DIY, I prefer to have the employee come out with me to document the rental themselves.

Customer service was fair at best. There seemed to be confusion with my payment, the person picking up the truck for me was asked to put the payment on his card!! All of my information was confirmed at least twice before pick-up.

Sometimes I had to call several times for updates to be made. Such as drop off/pick up dates. This was due to the unknown of our move. I would call and verify the info days after changing to find it really wasn't updated. We also had a pod that for some reason the extra Uhaul lock was removed and door was broken. Luckily, Our lock was still on and we had no issues with this. Most of the employees I dealt with were very helpful. I think the cost configuration was a little confusing. Was about $1000 more than my quoted amount. I did understand that there were additional fees for pick up/drop off and storage.

There needs to be extra people working the front desk for rentals. I had a reservation for 12pm and because of one customers hold up and only 1 person there I didnt get my rental until 1pm she was kind enough to extend the rental time an extra 45 minutes but that put them at closing time. The morning person was kind and courteous and very helpful she just seemed overwhelmed with everything going on. The person who was there at night was not helpful I was told if I get it there by 7pm then I could pay cash I got there at 650 and when asked to pay cash he told me its kind of too late for that then just checked the truck in and walked away. He seemed very lazy when it comes to customer service. I also watched the person who showed at the door while I was pulling in be denied service because the person working that night had the door locked already.

The truck was getting pretty old and was clean but dingy and some disrepair on the interior. It was out of alignment, the driver door was hard to close, and the oil change needed message was displayed. The location was great with fast service.

It wasn't terrible but our confirmation email stated return time was 5:30. We worked hard to meet that deadline after moving all day etc. and had a commitment to my elderly mother that we needed to get to. When we arrived at Uhaul, we were told that they had closed and we had to go through an online return which included taking and uploading pictures etc. which took time we didn't have. This took place before the 5:30 deadline. Both workers were there and just hanging around but refused to work. In fact we saw the woman (Vicki) leaving AFTER we had finished the entire online fiasco. It seems unnecessary to just sit in your building and wait for closing time (which was clearly later than 5:30 as I saw her leaving) and not help your paying customers.

1. People taking the reservation have to get the information correct. No room for error. The gentleman who took mine made an error in my last name and it was stressful and time consuming to figure it out, correct it, and follow my reservation. The last thing I needed in the middle of a big project and totally unnecessary. 2. Tyler at this location was great. He called me back the morning of the pickup when he saw a missed call from me. At this point I still was not entirely sure that they had a trailer or where it was (no phone call by 6 o'clock as promised but I can't recall a rental from U Haul where someone actually called us), and I did not want to check out of the hotel until that was confirmed which he was able to do. When I arrived for pickup he was pleasant, efficient, accurate in a very busy environment. Emphasize accuracy. Better communication on where the equipment is.

They gave my unit away after I paid for it and never gave me a refund. Then tried to charge me AGAIN. The gentleman helping me was very unprofessional and seemed very unknowledgeable about everything. I have to have family load it due to me already moving across country and this has been nothing but stressful.

This has nothing to do with the current management but my storage unit lock was change and some items came up missing and it was in a shamble. I still have the lock they replace mine with as well as my original key l tried to make a claim and the guy was real rude to me.

The truck was to have a dolly and blankets. It had neither. My contract had included charges for both at my request. Upon my return, I was told that they could not refund the charges. But they did reduce the charge per mile which was a fair response in my opinion. So while I did have some early frustration with the lack of a dolly and blankets which I ordered, it was made up for in the end at least the financial side of it. So I came away reasonably satisfied. Also the truck worked well. I had no problems with it at all. I was pleased with it.

It was a little slow on the return only 2 associates working and several people waiting.

The wait to get the trailer was around an hour, as there was only 1 attendant at the counter to service everyone. The attendant did a good job, they were just overwhelmed by the amount of customers. Could have used another attendant to help with issuing equipment.

Unit I was given had broken glass as well as someone's left over garbage. I assumed these units are checked and cleaned in between rentals but apparently that's either not the case or you're short staffed. There's a fee associated with everything which I understand but if you're going to do business that way, maybe take care of your end. Thanks.

The storage facility staff was excellent. They stayed a little longer to check me into the my storage unit. They explained everything and answered all my questions. They even walked me to my unit to show me where it was. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a storage unit.

There was only one associate working and there were a line of people. The wait time was nearly 20 minutes standing inside a small lobby space with several other waiting customers. The associate was unable to handle the incoming phone calls & customers at the same time. Callers were asked to hold, but the associate was unable to return to the waiting callers due to waiting on the lobby customers.

After returning the uhaul on time, I received a phone call, a text message , and an email saying that I had NOT returned the uhaul and it was late. While calling to straighten the situation out, they blamed it on the fact that I reserved the uhaul online....that should have NO impact on anything .

Problems arose with the addition of the second box to the order. The order was not correctly updated with the movers to help pick up the boxes to deliver (in Texas) and to unload the boxes, and also one box was scheduled at a different day for mover pick up to deliver. Numerous problems were caused when the second box was added on and this seems like a problem with the uhaul system, not correctly communicating with itself and the other departments. I will never use uhaul again if I can help it for anything, and I have always chose uhaul in the past. Also items were broken on arrival.

Our experience using your storage facility for the most part has been great. The staff has been very helpful and friendly. Our only issue over the past 10 years has been trying to regain access after a door repair and a lost key. We n3ded to have our lock cut off. The request was made in Nov 2019 and not completed until July 2020. This task only took 5 minutes to complete. So, we could have been out of our unit sooner. Anyway, that's our only complaint.

Had an indoor storage unit for 1 year with U-Haul Merrillville. It was a nightmare! There was a break in to all units in my hallway. There was no apology from U-Haul and no discount. The communication of the break in was terrible. They were rude and couldn't help me as I was out of state when it happened. In addition to not being safe, the facility is dirty. Found a lot of bugs every time I opened storage unit. Finally, staff was not friendly. Every time I came into the office it would be a 30 min wait to talk to someone. I have taken all my belongings and moved to a much nicer storage facility down the road for the same price. Stay away from this storage!!!

Prices are ridiculous and they up the rent atleast once or twice a year by $5.00. Dont expect it to be plowed until the next day if it snows. Much cheaper better places out there with 24/7 access.

One year ago I reserved a 10 x 10 unit I was told there was no problem reserving a 10 by 10. Which would have cost me $150. when I got there they had a 10 x 15 which cost $184 that's the $34 hike.
