The gentleman that was there upon my arrival was absolutely professional, that was Sunday December 2nd, 2018 around 2:30pm. I had a confirmation for a storage unit 10x15x10 which U-Haul didn't have. Due to your data bank not being updated. I've made arraignments with two movers to unload the truck, since there was no unit available I had to pay them regardless. This was one of the worst moving experience we've had with U-Haul. After 30 years of doing business with this Co. we have come to an end and no longer consider U-Haul an option. Thank you!

The men working were doing the best they could but the store was very understaffed and the wait long. The truck we rented was not in prime condition. The drivers door didn't close right and it sounded like the transmission had seen better days. I honestly feared it was going to break down. Made me nervous!

I wasn't told about showing proof of insurance. I would have brought my wallet with the insurance card in it to verify, so I got charge almost $15 for a truck I used for 2.5 hrs and 6 miles of distance put on it. Now, that stinks. I'm using the truck for a food pantry and that cut into my grocery fund.

was nervous becasue the previous time there the staff tried to tack on 80miles to the mileage driven. (The staff had driven the pickup truck "on personal business" and had not updated the mileage correctly; I missed catching that the mileage was incorrect at receipt of vehicle.) But this time i was vigilant and also no shenanigans were attempted. The staff were very helpful and professional - this time. (The previous time was many years back at the same location.)

I was very underwhelmed by my experience with U-Haul (not necessarily just this location). I have a 2017 Rav4 with a U-Haul brand tow hitch and was planning to bring some furniture back from my family in Munster, IN to my home in Florence, KY. I used the U-Haul site to find a tow behind trailer that would be compatible with my vehicle, which was a 4' by 8'. This would cost me roughly $80 for the one-way tow, which I was happy with. When I arrived to the U-Haul in Merrillville to pick up my, my experience with the personnel (I believe his name was Shawntez) was perfectly pleasant. We went through the rental agreement process, and we went to connect the trailer to my Rav4. Once we connected and I pull forward slightly, I got back out of the car for us to check out the connection to make sure it looked okay. Unfortunately the trailer was not level, the connection was at quite an angle and was sitting very low. The U-Haul personnel made a comment that "They didn't feel comfortable having me drive away with the trailer as is." I whole heartedly agreed. With the angle of connection, I'm not sure how the 4x8 trailer can be advertised to be pulled by a Rav4 safely. As a development engineer for Toyota I have some insight into the tow capabilities of our vehicles, and I was rather certain there was a high chance that trailer would come loose after 1 too many bumps on the interstate driving home. Unfortunately, I still needed to get this furniture from Munster, IN to Florence, KY so my only other option was to rent a full 10' U-Haul truck. As a result, my bill went from the$80 I was expecting to over $450. My overall concern was the website did not accurately offer me what my vehicle could handle, I then was given an unexpected price hike to move my furniture. If I would have known, I could have driven my truck up on the trip instead of my Rav4... but I took the website's word for it. Very unhappy with my experience and now I am out a few hundred dollars.

The guys that was there was very friendly and I was surprise that when I walk into the store they already knew who I was and what I was picking up they even took the time to go over everything with the truck with me and made sure I didn't have any questions before leaving the store which was a wonderful thing with me.
