Check engine light came on on my way back to U-Haul ended up being way more expensive than originally thought. Everything has a charge to it. Overpriced.Christine S.
I confirmed TWICE during the week that the equipment I requested would be there. When it came time to pick up my equipment, it was not there. It nearly ruined my entire move, which was supposed to be a joyful experience. What was planned to be an hour experience of picking up my truck and trailer turned into a SIX hour experience, as I had to drive to Odessa in rush hour, pick up my trailer (which actually went very well, the employees there were amazing), then head back to midland to put my car up on the vehicle transport (which took another hour). I had to wait in line over an hour to be told that my equipment (which, again, I had confirmed twice that week) was not available. There were FOUR employees there, only one of which was helping guests at the desks. Idk what the other employees were doing, but all of us guests in line (which was like 7) were baffled. The gentleman working the front desk was not to blame, he was fine. It was the fact that my equipment was not there (which I had confirmed TWICE earlier in the week) and also that the rest of the staff was sitting around doing nothing while there were tons of ppl in line waiting to be helped. PLUS, the location for drop off they sent me to was not in fact a drop off at all. It was a storage facility only. So I had to rush to a diff location and at the very last minute was able to turn in my equipment and get help getting my car off the trailer. An experience that also nearly fucked up my entire move. I have moved a few times with uhaul and had a decent experience. This particular experience was a complete disaster. I'm usually not the type to complain about things, but I was on a sharp timeline for this move (job, apartment, movers, etc) and the whole thing was nearly ruined.Jonathan C.

The on-site Staffs in both Amarillo and Midland are awesome. Used three locations in the past year. The help I received from the Corporate level over the phone, not so much. Will be renting a 15 foot truck in August, to complete my move from Amarillo to Midland. Hope it all goes as well. Been using Uhaul for 45 years, loyal customer. Got the uhaul it only had 1/8 gallon of gas. Got a $35 gas credit. That credit only put it to 1/4 tank. The mileage was off by 13. I put total of $80. Which pit it to half tank. Had to go to odessa to get my box. Then the people at the storage locked me in the area. No one has contacted me of the mileage difference. Just got the invoice with the extra mileage on recept. This was a huge inconvenience and I'll never recommend uhaul box. It was supposed to be here on Monday. Then the schedule people had no clue where it was. When I went down to the office on Wednesday that's when I found out it was in odessa. I got no notice that the box was here nor even the inconvenience of having to travel 32 miles round-trip to go get my stuff. When I opened the box it appeared like it went over mountains and a roller-coaster. As of today I still haven't gotten notice of the box arrived. So I think I should have at least 2 days of the $50 per day credited back to me. It sat in Vegas for awhile. The lady picking it up was like you either shut it now or reschedule. I was either 1st or second on pick ups. Which I didn't get everything I needed. Therefore I'm having to mail 7 boxes from Vegas. Very disappointing experienceRebecca P.

Upon arrival our truck was there but the extra equipment was not in the truck. A young man named Justin was rude. We were able to get the truck quickly but he seemed to want to make excuses. ie. (It does not seem to be paid for) but quickly corrected that when I showed him that I had the receipt. Then when we got the equipment, we were told that the truck we rented did not need a lock. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very friendly especially the young spanish lady that checked me in, she was super nice and attentive as soon as I walked in and had a smile on her face. When returning the truck she still remembered who I was and it took no time at all to pick up and return . Very pleasantly pleased with this location. Store Manager was very rude as disrespectful about the customers. Constantly complaining about them while on 2-way radio. Location had no air condition and was well over 90Â° inside. Manager was no help while connecting to trailer and made fun on connections. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT USE AGAIN.Ross W.

It was not until drop off that I was told of the simple fix to the lighting problem I had with trailer. They helped by informing me of the common problem which may occur when hooking up equipment. ( I now have what is needed for my next rental with you company). The person Road Side Assistance sent out in Virginia, did nothing but made my situation worse by blowing another fuse. He told me that I would have to take my vehicle to dealership to resolve the issue... Said nothing but that it was a defect in my model vehicle... Which was "B. S."Bobbie J.

We already had to go out of our way 45 minutes to pick up the Uhaul, then we get to the original pickup location and they make us wait for an hour while they were trying to find the truck that we had already reserved. So after the hour wait they tell us we have to go another 30 minute drive away to be able to get the rental truck. We drive to the second location and end up waiting another hour because apparently the technician just started and didn't know anything., she gave us the truck with the gas tank between 1/2 and 1/4 and said to return it to the same level. We also ordered 2 furniture dolly's which this technician said would be in the back of the truck. We get the whole way home just to find no dolly's which when moving seven kids makes it a heck of a lot longer. So not only did UHAUL not give extra mileage, but when we go to turn the UHAUL back in they charge us for fuel when we filled it up to the exact spot it was at when we rented it. I am deeply disappointed in the level of mess ups UHAUL has caused my family in this already difficult time. Needless to say we won't be using UHAUL ever again.Phoelena F.

The after hours key drop location was hard to find. I saw the instructional sign on the awning that reminds us to use u-haul.com for after hours drop off, but I had to search for the key drop. Probably not that hard during the day, but not obvious at night.Jay W.

The lonely associate that was there had the where with all to understand the situation that he was dealing with when he walked back into the office. I had just returned my 20' uhaul and he was outside assisting another customer with a tow package. When I walked in there were 2 other customers in line and the phones were ringing off the hook. When he came back in he answered the phones and addressed the first customer in line. He then teaches out to me and asked if I was the one that had just pulled in for a return. I told him yes and that the tank was 1/2 full and all the rental equipment was accounted for. He asked if I would be good if he emailed me.the receipt and I stated yes, which he did within a couple of hours. Its baffling to me that you would run a location with one person on staff at what seems to be a high traffic location. I stood in line for over 20 minutes in a store I could gave robbed blind because there was no one else there to tend to the store!!! 🤔Paul B.
