The staff at this facility were really friendly and helpful. Free carts were provided to help with moving items to the storage facility. The only downside was that the fourth floor was extremely hot, which made moving in a little strenuous. The manager at the uhaul lotcation in Newark 370 orange st. She is very unprofessional no smile on her face or anything she makes you feel uncomfortable and don’t want to do business at that location, the other staff members there are great! They are helpful! They talk to you with respect and etc! But the Storage unit are very clean , the bathroom was very clean! It’s just very hot in there during the summer time. Make locker versus storage identification more visible on website. I got a locker while I needed a storage and they were all out of the storage lockers in the size I required. There was a problem beyond the responsibility of the people who worked at East Orange, my regular destination, and at Orange St. The problem was handled very professionally at Orange st. although I got on my way later than I expected. Make sure the tie down straps for the trailers are all there and are long enough to reach the ractchet. Had to either bring it all the way back from home with the car 1/2 loaded on it or just go to Autozone to buy a ratchet on my own dime. The guy working there, honestly could care less about his job. I would not recommend U-haul to anyone. I feel taken advantage of by the rates charged. I was charged for 4 days and 691 miles but only had the truck for less than 1 day and only 566 miles. The cost was outrageous for the product I received. The people were very friendly, and the service was excellent, but the rates were completely unacceptable.Tom C.

I have to say. My experience at the Newark U-haul was fantastic. Please give your team kudos for the outstanding work that they do. I never rented an auto trailer before, never trailered a vehicle before and have never been to the Newark facility. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and was calmly and pleasantly introduced to the auto trailer and how to work with it. I do not remember the name of the gentlemen who hooked it up to my vehicle and answered all of my questions but he was fantastic. Even when I returned the trailer, the return was seem less, quick and very comfortable. You have a wonderful system in place and a great team. Perhaps you ca. offer your team a free lunch or something to thank them for their outstanding and dedicated work supporting U-haul. Btw, I drove from Newark, NJ to Baltimore, MD, loaded a car i purchased off of Craigslist, dropped the new car off at my house in Essex County and returned the trailer all in the same day. The storage room hours are not convenient for people who work 9-5 Jobs, Monday-Friday, given traffic time. I always have to wait until an early Saturday mooring to retrieve my items. You have a really awesome employee by the name of Rasheed, I believe I got the name right. He is worthy of a raise and trust me, I am not being paid to write this. He helped me every single time I moved my items, in/out of the storage room, if he was available to do so. My storage room was very dark on the inside and I found droppings on my boxes when I was moving out, so I know there were rodents roaming around my belongings Also, someone had some oil that dripped from their storage space into my space which could be the cause of that problem. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and accommodating. My only problem was that I called an hour before my arrival to be sure that the unit was ready (late afternoon 2:30pm) I was assured that it was ready. When I arrived the unit wasn’t ready yet. The assoc stated that he had to clean it out. He gave me my key and asked me to wait. I walked to the unit with a piece of furniture, the unit door was open, & the unit was lined with glue traps along all four walls and a live mouse on the trap. This was completely unacceptable. This should have been addressed before my arrival and before handing me my unit card. The assoc was there alone with a line of people. I would certainly not recommend U-Haul for anyone. I left all my furniture and personal belongings on their storage. There was a flood in my unit. U-haul did not report what was the damage and put me in contact with another company, west rep. West rep informed that no damages was caused to my unit. When I opened my storage there were a lot of items missing (bed, table, bag, boxes), and west rep did not helped me at all. U-haul was always saying that did not have any responsibility.
