Document mileage correctly. When I returned the truck, the man behind the counter took the keys, and asked me if I had an email in file. I did, and he told me I'd receive the receipt through email. Later when I received it, I was shocked to see how many miles they charged me for. I drove approximately 35 miles and I was charged for over 200. I never even left Newburgh. Now I have to go back tomorrow and dispute the charges.Sheree D.

It was impossible to get customer service on the phone. I had to drive 25 minutes two times to get through to someone for pick up and delivery. When I made the reservation, the representative made it sound like I could reserve any day for pick up and delivery but that wasn't the case. It was like a week window for both which made it extremely stressful with two closings on houses happening a week apart. I would never recommend this service to anyoneNAOMI C.
Veda was extremely helpful before my move and the man who checked me back in (started with a J) was also helpful. Unfortunately, the furniture dolly was covered in black grease that got ony furniture and clothes AND the truck had no A/C And bad windshield wiper blades, making driving at night on the rain very difficult. ALL of the staff that I had to deal with at the 9w Newburgh NY location were nothing but RUDE, miserable and clearly did not want to deal with any customers. Verda who helped me the first day was snippy, rude and was giving me such an attitude. Then when I dropped it off I stood in the back parking lot waiting for the guy on the forklift and he wouldn't answer me and again gave off such an attitude. all i can say is i would have gone over to Poughkeepsie or to a different location and will not suggest this uhaul to any of my friendsCAITLINANN S.
This has been the worst experience. The boxes are advertised as being flexible to YOU (aka me). Works with my schedule to deliver them to my new house and make moving easy. I cant get my boxes until mid August... but you will happily charge me more money even though I want them now. I cant them on my own because you dont have a trailer, so you will rent me a truck so i can unlaod, reload, and unload the boxes... but you dont have any trucks either. So you have my stuff hostage and I have to pay money and wait more time to get it. Ridiculous. I will never use these again.Rene F.

Your Newburgh store was no help whatsoever and actually did some shady things. I got a call from Hazel at 5PM on the day my Box was supposed to be picked up, telling me they couldn't pick up my box that day and did not give a reason. I explained that regardless of the pick up, I just needed it in Fort Collins on the guaranteed date I signed up for. She started giving me attitude and said that she would try talking to the scheduling department the next Monday, which was the new pickup date she gave me. I then checked my reservation online after talking to her and noticed she just changed the guaranteed delivery date by two days, thus leaving me with no help to unload my items in Fort Collins. She never called me and so I called the Newburgh store and they said she was unavailable and would give me a call back later. I never received that call and none of the other representatives had much interest in helping me with the issue. After talking to the main Uhaul phone lines and the Colorado scheduling area, they told me Hazel put the reason for the guaranteed delivery date change as my fault for not calling her back, which is completely untrue. I've been very diligent in this move, so shame on her for lying. After talking to the Fort Collins office (Tim has been great and very communicative) he told me the reason was removed and it showed nothing anymore, so not sure what happened there. I had to pay for movers to move my stuff because the help I had could not be here past the 22nd, so I was stuck alone trying to figure out how to move the larger items and furniture. The entire experience with this Newburgh store was unacceptable and I would never recommend anyone use it.Marcos R.

Most of the time when I interacted with staff, the staff member was helpful. When I finally moved all of my belongings out during the week of May 23,2021, I experienced my first and only hiccup! Due to the fact I was paying for 2-different units and I emptied both out within a week of each other, a staff member erroneously confirmed my move-out for my 2nd unit albeit it was not for the correct unit… At the end, I’m grateful I wasn’t charged additional fees and left U-Haul as a satisfied customer. We were given misinformation right from the start! We had to supply the address of our new house and were told that they deliver to the area we were moving to and gave us arrival date. On that date we called to get a time, and found out that our items hadn't even left Newburgh yet.(now 2 weeks later) It seems that the rep who was responsible for putting in the order had not done her job. We had to contact the higher-ups to get the situation handled. At that time we were told that they DO NOT deliver to the area we moved to., but they were helpful in getting special arrangements made to get our items to us once they realized the mistake that had been made. If you are using this company be sure to ask over and over again about the address items are being shipped to and be sure to get verification after every phone call.John R.

I have rented trucks several times and each time the tire pressure guage light is always on. I've been a customer at that location for most of the last ten years. The quality has gone downhill the entire time. Everything about uhaul has gone downhill. I have used trucks and containers at multiple locations and they have all regarded. Moving my belongings out was so that I could go to a competitor. The trucks list inaccurate dimensions regarding volume and when question the people renting you the truck they say they can't do anything. Over a 3-yr rental experience at this location where not one payment was late (auto paid on credit card for 3 years), the cleanliness was ok. Security was not great since doors to storage were open during business hours and anybody can walk in without access card. Individual storage padlock was main security measure. Lighting was ok, not great in corners. Our unit suffered moisture intrusion once and several boxes were damaged. However my biggest complaint and the reason we canceled our contract and moved to a different facility after 3 years, was the contract update process. Started with a $130/month rate. Went up every year, with 60-day notice, but without any regard for long time customers who auto pay. However in December 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic, the rate went up from $150 to $160/month for the same unit. This happened with no written or email written notice. When I called to enquire UHaul corporate office pointed to the Newburgh location saying "they should have notified you" and Newburgh staff pointed to UHaul saying "rate increases are the location's decision." One manager said a notice had been sent, another said it did not matter if any rate increase notification was sent. The spirit of the contract with UHaul - that both parties need to agree to any rate changes in writing - was meaningless. As a customer if I decided not to make complete payments and reduced my payment by 25%, there would be immediate consequences including the auction of my storage contents. The other party to the contract however, increased the rate by 25% with no notice and there were no consequences. This is not how a contract works. Upon arrival the young lady was very nice and helpful. She assign a unit handed me my papers work and off I went to check the space out. When I lift the gate the unit floor was dirty. Although disappointed, I went back to customer service desk but the young lady was already gone. I ask the young man for a broom and a pick up to sweep out the unit space, he was very confused why I would be ask6for a broom so I proceeded to explain my situation in hand. I was a storage customer for way too long. At one point the door of my unit was broken (internal spring) and it was reported and not corrected for a lengthy time. When I brought the complaint forward a 2nd time it was actually corrected within 2-3 days but I had to be on hand with the unit to open it for repairs which was inconvenient but necessary.
