I was given my contract/gas sheet before taking my rental and the gas was highlighted at 3/4, and I was told to return it at 3/4. I returned the truck at 7/8, almost completely full. And I was charged for 15 gallons of gas because they told me I did not fill it up before I returned it.NICOLE W.
Equipment was clean but not well-maintained. Tires exhibited a lot of treadwear and turned out to be a bit shy of recommended pressure. We blew a tire on the Alaska Highway. I had ordered an appliance dolly and they gave me a utility dolly. I had to drive all the way back to the location, adding mileage on to the truck, show them my actual order to receive my dolly. Be aware of the hours you can access to the storage. They closed at 7pm even the website stated we have access until 10pm. We found out while we were loading the truck at 7pm. The staff came to lock the door. If we knew it before, we would have gotten 24hr access.MAKOTO M. | Overall Experience
Worst experience ever. Back of truck smelled like dead fish. Had spots of fish slime and blood and the floor of box. Never got a call back from the Uhaul location after talking to the 800 # 3 times. I had many issues with the facility. Staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be, but they were overwhelmed. Way too many customers for way too little staff. I almost always had to wait. When I signed up for a unit, I was asked to sign an agreement, but was not given time to read it or given any paperwork. There was also a lock on my unit when I went to use it and I had to walk all the way back to ask staff to remove the lock (and wait for them to stop assisting other customers). When I arrived to move my belongings in, carts were being horded by other customers. These customers were not actively using the carts to transport items, but spent 30 minutes going through the belongings in their unit. I asked respectfully to use a cart and was declined. I then asked the staff for assistance. They did nothing to stop the cart hording. Also, while moving in my belongings, I was told on one occasion that I could not access the floor with my unit for an hour, because they were waxing the floor. I told them I needed to move everything out of my apartment that day and disregarded them and moved my belongings in anyway. In a month, I visited my unit about 14 days to move things in (and subsequently move things out). A number of times, alarms were going off. I have stored at other facilities and have never heard a single alarm. So something appeared to be going wrong with the alarm system. I had issues with getting my access card to work. I went and spoke to staff about it (Again, after waiting). They gave me an access number. I then realized that my alarm did NOT work at all. I even tested this out by not logging in and opening my unit - no alarm. I notified staff about this and asked them to have a manager call me about prorating my unit's rent. (I wanted to move out immediately and feel that UHaul is in breach of contract for not honoring the alarms they promised me). I waited a day. The manager never called me. I decided to move my belongings to another storage facility, but to wait until my month expired, because it was clear I was not going to be treated with respect or dignity. Customer service is important to me. If a facility will have this many things wrong with it and not own up to the issues and fix them, then that is a huge disservice to the community at large and to me.john s. | Overall Experience

My items were stolen as we were moving out. I called and management didn’t do anything, he never even took my name down but said he’d call me back, which he never did. The woman who stole the items had been there for days rummaging through peoples’ items as well as the free pile. It looked like she was trying to stay in the facility after everyone left, possibly staying in a unit. I have yet to receive a call back about my stolen items. I was transferred to multiple departments that ultimately left in a deadend with no one to answer me or the ability to leave a voicemail. The items stolen were over $400 in total, over twice the amount of my rent for a month. I would like a call back, or an email. The trailer lights were broken so I had to rewire them myself on the highway . I rented the trailer at 12 butts was unable to take the trailer off the lot tell 4:30 in the afternoon because one of my friends storage lockers had an extra padlock on it that the staff could not explain or unlock for us when. I went to return the trailer at 4 and they charge me for a full extra day because I was a few hours late even though I did not take the trailer off the lot until 430. Then I told the staff if I was going to get charged for an extra day I might as well keep the trailer for an extra day and they sign me in real quick and said if I wanted the trailer for an extra day that it would be an extra $50 totaling 150 I totally felt like I was being ripped off the trailer is in bad condition the brake lights didn't work and the customer service was poor waiting on the phone for hours I will not rent from you guys in the future and I will tell everyone that I know about this terrible experienceTRAVIS P.

It wasn't the locations fault it was such as fluster cluck acquiring our rental it was "big" U-haul that dropped the ball. The boundary location did an awesome job at helping where they could. Location was short staffed. Had to hook up trailer by myself. Had to move a trailer in front of it to get to it. No one to check to see if light's were working. We checked light's ourself. Trailer was dirty. Previous renters did not clean it. Upon return, store was closed because of internet not working. No one working at store during open business hours. Had to unhook trailer by myself. Good store. Good location. Very poor service because of staff shortage. Took 50 over 50 minutes on hold to speak to a representative to make sure they had checked in trailer today. The did, and charges were correct. That's why I recommend this location. Poorly kept area where the employees expect some customers to return and unhook the equipment themselves. The area is full of ice and on a slope. The tongue of the trailer slid off toward the car after I unhooked it , trapping my hand and damaging the back of my wife's vehicle. Through either mistakes, incompetence, or criminal behavior all the items in my storage unit were disposed of FIVE days after I started to put them into the unit, using the access code I had been assigned. In addition I am being charged late fees for a unit (1027) that was not my unit. An insurance claim has been opened to recover a portion of the value of the items that have been lost. I am still in shock that, as an aritist, I have lost the majority of my artwork and that of others that I collected. I have also lost family heirlooms going back over 100 years. Also my jewelry and my passport. This is an active case. I have refrained from going public with my experience at this time as we work through claim process. A police report was filed. This is a review for accessing my ubox at the storage location after pick up. The manager Eric over the phone spoke to me as if he had no interest in helping me see how much they weighed and to access them to put more things in and take things out. He said a few hours then got more frustrated and said next day. He weighed them within the hour and I went in as soon as possible so they could re-store them. When I got there I asked where the uboxes were and he said over there. He was so irritated he wouldn't say anything else to direct his clerk. His clerk was helpful and respectful. He had to go back and ask him where it was. Afterwards of loading I couldn't close the box. It was a old box they said and significantly shorter than the rest. I let him know I appreciated his help and I had a lot going on , I'm renovating my home, to sell, taking 6 classes, working and taking care of my kids as a single parent fir 18 yrs. He said â€œmy life is like yoursâ€ he then said he was taking 9 classes. He also said â€œwell you got that single parent stuff down thenâ€ with a large laugh. I said not really, the Army helped and I could finally be with them more. His demeanor was as if I was bothering him by asking him for access and weight of my uboxes as well as why they aren't in my online profile. They are as closed reservations though but not easily viewable from current reservations. The first part of my reservation with the drop off and pick up was excellent. Give a spare tire to anyone traveling through Alaska or Canada. The trailer I was given had no spare. I attempted to find one to no avail. I chanced it, based on the fact that I was told Uhaul did not give spares. Tire blew out in British Columbia Canada with no cell service for 2 hours. Had a spare been included, I could have changed it and continued. I was lucky in that I found a lodge who was able to help me. Simply put, to not include a spare tire is ridiculous on the company's part. If I have to make this drive again, I will not rent from your company unless a spare tire is provided. The customer deserves peace of mind when traveling. On the other side of things, the customer service was phenomenal when I had my issues. There was a lot of confusing and moving units at first because of damage to locking mechanism on the first one, then told to go to another, then another, and finally got one that wasn’t being used. Staff at front seemed to be busy and not focused on the details but it was resolved. Still not sure if I will be charged for the right unit and if my prepayment will go through properly. I ran into a lot of trouble with your mobile app/check-in service. The app wouldn't load without connecting to your store's wi-fi. When I received a texted link to do the assessment, your website would not let me upload a photo of my gas gauge and odometer. I ended up getting waived through the process by one of your staff (a very helpful young man), but found that because the gas gauge didn't reflect what had been on the paperwork, I was charged $16 for using a very small amount of fuel that was well-within the range on the check-in/check-out instructions. I made my reservation online and spoke with some a person on the phone the morning before I got there; the truck had not been pulled out; it had not been warmed up; the problem with not being warm is I am on a time limit and 15 to 20 minutes warming the truck was in the brick of time I was paying for. Luckily I got back in time. The app on the phone did not work when I arrived. It said I was at the wrong location and said I needed to be at then gave the address for the location I was at, Your app sucks and dont work. the truck checkout list before leaving the lot did not come through on my phone until I was at my loading destination. The only gal that was super sweet was the older cleaning lady that came the the storage building. She was always so friendly and helpful. I always felt bad for her because she had to clean up some really nasty stuff left by people at the entrance. She should get some kind of compensation. The storage unit was like working in an oven or sauna. Unnecessary hot. After hours the sliding door did not work with my access code making it impossible to move things in and out after I got off work. On most occasions there where no carts available, and people parked right in front of the door, making it difficult to load my truck. There were a lot of homeless people hanging around, and weird people riding around on the carts inside the building. I shouldnt have to pay extra to access my belongings after hours. i work 72 hours a week and accessing my unit before 7pm could be difficult to do. All the staff was great, but them not having a good telephone system or intra messaging system that working properly caused me stress trying to reach someone in the store. I kept getting reservations which they couldn't help me.
