I waited over 45 minutes to pick up my truck and leave the Uhaul location! I was asked to use my phone to take pictures and verify the dents and scratches on the truck. The U-Haul app crashed and would not work. I then just used my phone and took pictures. I had made a reservation so I could be processed quickly in the morning. There was only one person working the counter when I arrived and waited almost 25 minutes before someone else came to the front to assist.Daniel D.

I got charged 55 dollars for gas when my gas was the same as I got it and I turned in the truck overnight didn't know where to park it and called their number during the day to ask what to do about returning it at night and was on hold for more than 1 hour each time and never got an answer but then they charged me a 20 fee for parking it in the wrong spot. Using U-Box for my move was one of the single worse decisions I have made regarding moving services. I have made many moves over the years due to my job and this experience with U-Box and in part U-haul in general has been exceeding unpleasant. First off. I had called to schedule these two boxes to be ready for pickup on April 9 in late March. Then I directly call on April 7 to the North Tampa facility to confirm my move on April 9th. They informed me that they can be a little slow at the facility so I elect to schedule the pick up of the boxes at 9:00 AM and received a confirmation text while on the call with the agent. At that call I ask if there would be an issue if my father-in-law picked up the boxes as his truck was equipped with the necessary tow hitch, at this time she informed me that the two boxes would have to be on separate trailers as they do not have any two trailer boxes at that facility so we had to make 2 trips. Less than convenient! Fast forward to the day of the move, we arrive at the North Tampa U-haul facility at 9:00 AM with the attendant on duty stating that they had â€œNo idea, we would be coming to pick up the boxes today.â€ The attendant needed to see if they could move the boxes at all that day. The attendant did take it upon herself to get a forklift and load the trailer which sounds like a great help until she demonstrated she did not know how to drive a forklift and admitted as much to my father-in-law. Finally 3 hours later than expected my father-in-law arrived. The movers we had hired to unload the boxes had graciously elected to stay and unload the box. It then took an addition 3 hrs to get the second box loaded with another forklift adventure. Similarly our movers stayed and unloaded the second box but we were required to pay for the additional time. All told these U-boxes added additional moving expense and hassle I was not expecting. I have always had successful moves using U-haul trucks and services in the past but these U-boxes and the costumer service surrounding them has greatly affected my view of the company. I don't see myself recommending U-haul and definitely not U-boxes to anyone. Thank you for your time.Mark M.

This location only had two employees working and the manager, Beverly was wonderful. She was answering the phones booking people in and out and pulling up the trucks, while the guy was pulling them in and cleaning them. Everyone in the lobby was angry. I waited an hour for my turn. I had to tell all the customers in the lobby to stop being angry with her she was trying her best. I believe she had to stop and cry, Beverly. I can't believe how hard she was working, almost by herself. She was great. I shouldn't have to explain to all of your customers that it is not her fault, it is eighteen her bosses fault or the corporations fault we were al waiting so long. I had to Keep an eye on her and tell YOUR customers to stop being mean to her. A higher mama her than hers need to step up and get to hiring ASAP! I was in the phone with uhual four times yesterday with wrong booking that was not my error and I had a horrible experience with this company yesterday!!!!!! My entire Friday was ruined because of this Uhual company and I had to spend my evening sticking up for YOUR manager, watch the video, I dare you...! The back of the truck to pull down to close was stuck at the top, it took my son 45 minutes to a hour to finally let it down. Although the staff was helpful, the situation was a disaster. I made a reservation on line for the biggest storage unit and when I got there the storage unit I reserved was already occupied. This caused me to have to get a smaller unit which makes my life more hectic than it already is, due to having to pull everything out each time I want something out of the unit. Not only that every time I book something with Uhaul the name that shows up on my reservation which is not my name but it is all my information every time the staff has to go in and fix it so it can reflect my name. I've been using Uhaul for a long time to rent trailers and this has to be the most unorganized location I've been to. What is usually a 10 min (max) process is about 30+ minutes here. While the staff seems nice it doesn't make up for the disorganization. I'm honestly shocked this is a corporate location.Darrian M.

I reserved a pick up truck on Tuesday, March 16th for Saturday, March 20th. When I called the east Tampa location to confirm the truck was there, they informed me that they had extended the current renters time to 7pm, so the pick up truck was not available for my 2 pm rental agreement time. This is where uhaul fails. I have had other occasions where my rental agreement pick up location had to be changed due to not available vehicles because they were not returned yet. Then I am switched to a different pick up location, in this case north tampa,fl, and incur additional mileage charges because some one else cannot plan ahead and adhere to their rental agreement.PAUL R.

As far as I know everything is just fine, although I haven't been to U-Haul storage to look inside my U-Box but I'm sure everything is fine. I have used UHaul for all of my moves. Typically you guys are great & I always recommend you for anyone moving. However this last experience was horrible. I live on a fixed income and due to additional expenses I have been in the rears for months now. So I tried to use the least expensive method possible. I compared renting a truck vs. getting a hitch installed then renting the trailer. I went with the hitch/trailer idea simply bc I was more familiar with that. The costs were approximately the same. However I just recently got a new car (the transmission was going out in my existing car & I was 1000 miles from home. The car wasn't worth the $5 grand to get it fixed. Hence there was one of my unexpected expenses, a down payment on another car. Having a new car I wanted to make extra sure that the car could pull the trailer with no worries. According to the web site it could & suggested the hitch to get. I then called UHaul and spoke with someone there and the confirmed no worries that it could definitely pull it. Then I again reiterated my concern when I got to UHaul. The man at the counter said, yeah no problem. It will pull it. So after 4 hours of installation and $500. I went to pick up my car with the trailer and the man said, â€œMy boss said your car won't pull that trailer.â€ Furious I asked to speak with the manager. I relayed that I asked repeatedly if my car was able to pull the trailer and I was informed that it would. She said that it won't & went to talk to someone. She came back and relayed maybe if I only filled it 1/2 full it â€œmightâ€ be ok. Might?!? 1/2 full!?! What was I supposed to do only take 1/2 my things and be stressed that I hurt the car? Stressed & obviously upset I began to think of what items I could live without. While standing in line waiting to get checked out I about puked from the stress of it damaging my car. When I got to the counter I asked what could happen if I put too much weight in the trailer. She responded with transmission problems which I just experienced with my last car. So scared I asked for the hitch to be removed and I'll have to drive the truck just bc I was so scared and worried. She said she couldn't do that but that she would give a discount on the truck. While I appreciate her attempt to help me I didn't have extra money to waste. I barely make it to my next check, honestly sometimes I don't. I didn't have $500 to just throw away on something I didn't even need. I'm just heartbroken. That was a nightmare. In the future please don't do that to anyone. I was giving the wrong unit twice, both in which I moved in and had to move out within a hour. Then I was told to go to another location. When I tried to leave my gate code didn't work. When I finally got out of the gate and arrived at the next facility, my coffee didn't work to get into the facility. The storage facility was clean and well maintained and easily accessible. But the representative I worked with to check in was a bit rude when I explained that I already had a disk lock and did not need to purchase one. Additionally I was a bit confused with the insurance. I added it on for my first month and asked if I could take it off for the second to save a bit of money since for the second "month" as I will only be in the unit for three additional days. At this point I was told the insurance was mandatory even though it is billed as optional when I selected the unit online. I felt cheated by a unit with steel column taking up approx 4 square feet in almost dead center of my floor and was given a paltry discount which took 3 months to finally be given. And then when I was I think 6 days late moving out they tried to charge me for an entire month. Then Katrina told me to talk to Marcus to settle it , he gave me a price of half a month , a week more than I used , and then they sent me a bill for another half month even after I moved out a week before the half month I paid for .
