Very nice service at the orleans location. However, I mentioned that the call centre person I spoke with (a guy called Parry something like that) was insisting too much in getting credit card info. When I say too much, it was too much and he was also lying that there's no more van if I don't provide with credit card info.ABDELKADER B.
Make sure vehicles are cleared of snow. We were told to back it in a spot to have someone else clean the snow. Took so long to take the snow off that we were super rushed to use the equipment. I have rented the 4 x 8 trailer 4 times in last 6 months - from Coventry road, Ottawa - with zero problems. I acknowledge that yesterday, at Innes road location, it was very cold outside about -10 CV. Yesterday at Innes Road, Ottawa, the outdoor tech guy told me he could not install the chains on my car hooks for the 4 x 8 trailer I had rented. I advised I towed a Jayco 806 trailer for 10 years and always hooked up the chains and Coventry did so 4 x in last 6 months for a 4 x 8 trailer. He reluctantly tried again and finally got the chains hooked on to my Honda frame. Then he told me that the lights did not work on my 2012 Jeep for the 2nd trailer (5 x 8) we rented. While the top of the line Jeep Rubicon Wrangler is a 2012, we have maintained it in top condition - there was zero problem with the lights. ZERO problems As a consequence, what should have taken 5 minutes took over 45 minutes - which is a huge waste of my time. I will not return to Innes U Haul location next time. I will ensure I use Coventry Road location as the workers there are very can-do - and not looking for reasons why the trailer cannot be hooked up.IANR L.

Not recommended at all; not only that person should not be a manager but he should not be allowed to speak with customers. There is a female employee who works only day shifts from what I have noticed.... long dark hair. She never smiles, never a pleasant welcome... does not look happy to be working. We have encountered her three times. In the beginning of my rentals she was to have the manager call me (Paul) as we first booked on line and what we booked was not available (not our fault the website was not reflective of what was available) so I told her that I wanted to have the same price of a unit t that we booked online for. She said she couldn’t authorize that and would have the manager call me. Never received a call. I called 3 times to speak to Paul and talked to the same girl 3 times she said Paul wasn’t in ... so I asked her 3 times to have Paul call me. Never got a call. I was so frustrated that I just gave up on trying... it ended up that I needed and second locker which aggravated me even more because I didn’t want my stuff all over Ottawa. Most of the staff that work there are not welcoming... there is one other girl with long dark hair who is very pleasant and always smiling and the manager Paul is very pleasant Based on my experience with that First Lady ... and other unfriendly workers And feeling very unwelcome as a customer..... I originally had to pick up my trailer at the Gatineau location, the manager there by the name of Tania was absolutely the rudest person I have ever met. She berated customers in front of each other often yelling at them if they were late or did not understand .,she has no customer service skills . On the other hand Paul at the Innes road location was very professional and accommodating. I think he should shadow and coach Tania on how to serve the public . Moving is very stressful and she adds to the stress by her poor attitude and demeaning behaviour.DENISW M.

The truck did not look like it had been wiped down since it was last used in the cab interior. There was coffee and other stains and sticky around the console. I'm sure the truck gets used multiple times a week, but during these times, it would be nice to feel like you're getting into a clean truck. Other than that, the storage bed area was very clean. Regarding closing the account: I was surprise to find out that their was no pro-rata per day with U-Haul. I should of read the whole contract at the counter in front of your cashier employee before agreeing of taking the storage unit. Unfortunately its impossible to read the find print of your contract when the booking is done over the phone or at the counter. IF I MAY SUGEST, this should be clarify at the time of the booking on the phone or at the counter by your sale team, this would certainly prevent a disappointment, frustration and hard ship when money is tight. I made a reservation for a 20 foot truck on October 9th for October 31st and received a confirmation email. When I showed up on the 31st at noon as stated in my email the staff said there was a mixup and they do not have any trucks available. They said they only figured it was a problem that morning but nobody called me to advise or make alternate plans. Luckily a 26 foot truck just pulled in for a return and they were able to give that one to me. I made a reservation over 2 weeks ago, and nobody called me when there was a problem the day of or offered to fix it for me. I was just told "sorry, we don't have anything right now." The day of the trailer pick-up I asked to purchase a hitch and a trailer lock and a padlock for the trailer door for our trips - I was directed to the wall of locks. I picked a hitch lock and a trailer lock and a padlock - I asked if this would work with the trailer and hitch I had (installed at u-haul the previous week) - I was told yes. The hitch lock worked well and the padlock also but the trailer lock obviously did not as later I found out by doing some web searches - why the person at the counter would tell me that the trailer lock would work when it didn't is incredible. Now I have a brand new trailer lock that is nothing better than a paper weight. Also the person who attached the trailer to the car left the chains too long and they were dragging on the road, I found out after a day of driving. I wrapped the chains with tape to prevent the chains from dragging.Joseph M.

The reservation was was not set. I went in three weeks ago to reserve and it wasn't recorded. The truck was a cargo van It was the only truck available though I needed the bigger box truck. I had to do several trips and did damage to one of pieces of my outdoor furniture. The Storage unit is a 5x10 but has a big roof support In it so I couldn't put what I needed in it. PLUS you add more on for taxes... we did not drive the truck across town- we moved 2 loads 6 KM each way.... 24 km between the 2 properties plus the distance from your location and back (6.8km each way). Forget recommending "this location", I would never recommend U-Haul as a whole. Almost completely ruined my moving day. Changed my reservation with no warning and offered me a $50 discount (which I did not receive). Showed up on my moving day to the new location (they also changed my rental from a 15ft to a 20ft), and they did not have this "new truck" available. I had to use a 10ft truck, and go back to my old apartment the next day to finish my move (with my car) as I couldn't fit everything in this truck. One issue was that the map did not match reality and the unit we were originally assigned was a different size and we had to go back to the office to wait in line and get moved to another location. Not a huge deal, but also a bit strange. While we were waiting, the couple in front of use were clearly having the same issue. A bit strange that that if the map is wrong that it would not be corrected or at least that the staff would not know which were which even if there had not been time yet to fix the maps. The indoor storage space was great. The problem I had over and over again, is that I couldn’t get in. I wasted time and money when I was trying to move out, because the code was not working. I called and told them the next day, they said they will reset it,I came back after work and couldn’t get in again! There is no one to call after 7 pm. I had to wait again till the next day. Then there’s the confusing issue of 2 boxes, to punch your number into, and you have to punch in your number to the one on the left first... if you punch it in on the right before the left it will look you out- no one explained that until I got locked out- it makes no sense why it has to be that way- , anyways my number did not work in either boxes.Then I realized there’s a 3rd punch in box. There should be clear instructions. Some improvements in the website when signing up is a little difficult and when you check there are items that in there that you did not selected. Signing in is hidden at the bottom in Manage you account. Also reservation is hard when I select storage to reserve and checking out I received an error, double check everything but still error.
