I found the assistant manager excellent at this location. While we're away in Guelph and Brantford I called your 1-800 # and asked to go one way with the trailer. I guy in scheduling looked into it and said that would be great and there would be no extra charge because they were short trailers in Brantford. When I went to the Variety Store he sent me to they said they don't have a licence to do trailers. Then I went to another, and they tried to take it in but it would have cost me another $80. So I drove it back empty. Not the best thing for the trailer. When I went to drop it off at Innes the $80.00 dollar charge was still on the account. The assistant manager helped me and she was very good, but you main number was terrible. I tried to sort it all out in Brantford but every time I was sent to scheduling and put on hold it hung up. I will use another company next time if I'm able. The only good service I received was at Innis. DerekDerek R.

I would like to take a moment to complement the young fellow working outside at receiving on Saturday, unfortunately I didn't get his name. This is my second time renting a trailer at this location. The first time we experienced a rainstorm of biblical proportion, this young guy, in the massive downpour, hooked up the trailer fast and efficent, remained extremely polite throughout though he was soak to the bones. This time again, upon returning the equipment, he was very helpful, quick to assist, gave me the total and I was done and on my way within minutes. He is an asset to this location.JOSEPHMICHAEL B.
The employees were very helpful but the people responsible for scheduling didn't have enough staff working. There was only one person at the rental desk. We did the checkin online which is supposed to expedite the process. We waited 45minutes in line before getting served. We had to wait again to get the trailer because there was only employee outside. Again it isn't the employees that were the problem; it is the problem of scheduling. We initially wanted to leave the trailer in Halifax so we did not have to drag it around for our entire holiday but the price to do a 1 way trip was a Joke. I could have bought a trailer for the $5000.00 you wanted for a one way trip from Ottawa to Halifax! If your not serious about providing one way service then don't offer it. When I called the number for the 3636 Innes location to make the booking, the call was answered by someone in a different location who indicated that they showed no availability in the system inventory view they had for the cargo van for the days I wanted at 3636 Innes which caused me to panick. They did however see availabilty at a location in the city but further away from my home. They gave me another number to call which would put me in touch with someone who might have a different inventory view. Sure enough they did as they were located in the upstairs offices at the 3636 Innes location and I was able to book the cargo van. I understand that there are certain times when call volumes are high but it would be nice if a potential client calling a specific location's number at least got routed to an overflow center that had the same view of the desired rental location's inventory. This was one the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Due to a problem with my car I couldn't take the trailer I had reserved. I was under a very tight time schedule for a move in. Despite it being one of the busiest days of the year, the Manager (Melanie) stepped in and found me a truck that would get my daughter to her new apartment on time. On pickup: I've never figured out what the point of providing my credit card and check-in info online is. Whenever I get to the store, I always have to provide it again anyway, so I just end up doing it twice. I guess I should just stop bothering with doing it online, since it's pointless? On drop-off: The drop-off lanes were so overwhelmingly full of previously dropped off equipment, that staff had not yet moved out of the way, that it was nearly impossible to navigate the parking lot to drop off the trailer. I ended up having to leave it somewhere other than the drop-off lane, and then make numerous maneuvers to just get out of the parking lot, as one of the exits was gridlocked by equipment. Clearly not enough staff on hand to handle the amount of equipment, or staff not being managed properly to prioritize the issue. On both pickup and dropoff: the staff did very little to help hooking up or unhooking the trailer. On both occasions the staff mostly just watched me and my wife work. I know how to hitch trailers, so it's not a big deal for me to do it, but this isn't the level of service I expect for my money.Harrison R.

The cargo van we used was in great shape. The uhaul location has many services to offer and a large fleet of vehicles. The only small issue I had was that the vehicle was not ready for my reservation time. Once I informed the employee who was cleaning another vehicle, he quickly turned his attention to prepping my vehicle. In the end it only resulted in a 16 minute delay but I was really pleased that with the actions of this employee. I received specific information about my truck rental from the manager in orleans. In her absence, the front workers were very unhelpful and my issue was not solved. I have closed my account with UHaul and have also contacted the manager. Also I was told if I close my unit early there would be a prorated refund. Perhaps I was wrong but this is was disappointing. When we arrived our locker was taken and had to then move to a second level locker which was very inconvenient due to the size and weight of our items. I even called last month to ask why the payment did not go through and why I had no emails, the lady helped me and tried to reprocess the payment and it still did not work. There is a female employee who works only day shifts from what I have noticed.... long dark hair. She never smiles, never a pleasant welcome... does not look happy to be working. We have encountered her three times. In the beginning of my rentals she was to have the manager call me (Paul) as we first booked on line and what we booked was not available (not our fault the website was not reflective of what was available) so I told her that I wanted to have the same price of a unit t that we booked online for. She said she couldn’t authorize that and would have the manager call me. Never received a call. I called 3 times to speak to Paul and talked to the same girl 3 times she said Paul wasn’t in ... so I asked her 3 times to have Paul call me. Never got a call. I was so frustrated that I just gave up on trying... it ended up that I needed and second locker which aggravated me even more because I didn’t want my stuff all over Ottawa. Most of the staff that work there are not welcoming... there is one other girl with long dark hair who is very pleasant and always smiling and the manager Paul is very pleasant Based on my experience with that First Lady ... and other unfriendly workers And feeling very unwelcome as a customer..... Regarding closing the account: I was surprise to find out that their was no pro-rata per day with U-Haul. I should of read the whole contract at the counter in front of your cashier employee before agreeing of taking the storage unit. Unfortunately its impossible to read the find print of your contract when the booking is done over the phone or at the counter. IF I MAY SUGEST, this should be clarify at the time of the booking on the phone or at the counter by your sale team, this would certainly prevent a disappointment, frustration and hard ship when money is tight. One issue was that the map did not match reality and the unit we were originally assigned was a different size and we had to go back to the office to wait in line and get moved to another location. Not a huge deal, but also a bit strange. While we were waiting, the couple in front of use were clearly having the same issue. A bit strange that that if the map is wrong that it would not be corrected or at least that the staff would not know which were which even if there had not been time yet to fix the maps. The indoor storage space was great. The problem I had over and over again, is that I couldn’t get in. I wasted time and money when I was trying to move out, because the code was not working. I called and told them the next day, they said they will reset it,I came back after work and couldn’t get in again! There is no one to call after 7 pm. I had to wait again till the next day. Then there’s the confusing issue of 2 boxes, to punch your number into, and you have to punch in your number to the one on the left first... if you punch it in on the right before the left it will look you out- no one explained that until I got locked out- it makes no sense why it has to be that way- , anyways my number did not work in either boxes.Then I realized there’s a 3rd punch in box. There should be clear instructions. It was a very frustrating experience to go there 3 times, and be looked out all there times after getting reassurances from the staff that my code works and that I should be able to get in.MAGIDA K. | Overall Experience
I willl use only uhaul in the future. The staff were amazing. So helpful and accommodating. I recommend them to everyone. Clean, bright and secure. During my telephone conversation last week, i was quoted 124.95 for a storage space equal or relatively close to the 15ft moving truck I rented. But. on august 29, when i brought my items, I was toll that the price was 269.95 per month with the first month free. That is not what I agreed. My rental trucks air conditioning wasn’t working. It was very hot and uncomfortable. Also the service is very very slow, you need to hire more people. I left the lineup because I couldn’t wait..you can’t have 1 person working, and answering phone calls and 10 people in line.
