The service was great. I initially wanted to rent for a half day service, but was later told that it was not possible. I had the truck and trailer for approximately 3 hours. The truck cost $20 and the trailer cost $25. Before I was done, it cost me $106 and that is without insurance. I also added about $46. in gas, more than I used by far. So, spending $160 would make future short term rentals financially not feasible.PHILIP M.

This location is much quicker than other locations in Ottawa. Some things that could be improved: 1) I had to search for someone in the yard to help me hook up the trailer and drop it off. 2) even though I did the check-in online, I still spent 10 minutes at the counter to get my trailer. But overall this location is a hundred times better from an efficiency standpoint than the Coventry location.JARED H.

While waiting in line in the morning you could see everyone was in a bad mood. Well organized clean well staffed. Equipment is in sections , very well maintained . Large stock of everything Uhaul . Very easy to get to as Innes road is a main arterial road in the Orleans area of Ottawa. If this is your drop location for equipment, there are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby to fuel you people or fill your pantriesTodd G.

T1414 20' Truck was issued to us and a free use of a 6' X 12' covered trailer. The equipment was clean but the 20' truck had a ceiling leak on the passenger side at the front near the mom's attic. While I was loading it the rain poured down and water was leaking into the truck soaking a mattress and cardboard boxes near the leak.Gregory B.

Following is a email sent to the Orlean manager We are still waiting for some sort of compensation. The price listed on the reservation was 400$. When I asked why the price I had to pay had tripled, the guy (we've learned later) lied to our face telling me the price I saw was a daily fee that was the beginningof our nightmare.... Good evening, Our experience with uhaul as been nothing less than a nightmare: - My on-line reservation for a 26' was from July 30 to August 2. Pick-up in Gatineau and drop off in Mtl. What we've got from uhaul: You now have to drive 45 mins (instead of 15 to Orlean for pick up. After filling everything, paying and a changed drop off location (trois-riviere which is only 45 mins from our new home) walking in the parking lot to pick up the truck. Oups no truck available. You either wait tomorrow (moving day) and see what is available if anything; or you take a smaller truck (not suitable for our needs); or you take this 26' but you have to bring it back to Ottawa. (10 hours drive and expenses for a certified driver). We felt we had a gun our head so we accepted. I'm omitting so many details, problems, conflicting info we received with the folks we've talked to. Calls are recorded so shouldn't be a problem to retrieve info from Marjorie, Kloey vs what you told us. We are beyond being stressed, frustrated and irritated with the poor service we received and the fact that my wife and our designated driver have to drive back to Ottawa and pay for transportation for both back to QuÃ©bec. You can imagine our reaction when we received your email which is yet another mistake on your part. We were clear from the get go ( our online reservation, the first contract we signed for dropping in 3 RiviÃ¨re) that we needed the truck from the 30th until August 2nd. An official complaint was already filled and being proceeded. This additional fumble will also be shared with that department. My wife and the designated driver will make the 7 hour drive with the truck tomorrow and I hope they will get a better treatment than our first visit. Inesines A.

Had appointment for 9am, showed up at 9 and the line was long. I waited over 2 hours to pick up my uhaul. When i got to the counter they had already canceled my truck because it been over an hour since my appointment they said(i was waiting in line) . They didnt have a truck for me at first because they had given it to someone else. Then told me to go outside to find the lot guy and ask if he had the keys for a 20ft. He didnt have the keys. So we went back in and they gave us a diffrent truck and told me that they would take care of my contract. I wasnt able to proceed in the pick up checklist because the truck didnt match my contract.( finally at 12 i was able to leave uhaul. Waited 3hours for i truck i reserved ) I dropped the truck off that night, and put the keys in the drop box. Also couldnt perform the drop off checklist because i didnt have the right contract. The next day i get a phone call claiming i didnt drop the truck off and they didnt have my truck on their lot. I explained to them what happened and they said they would take care of itâ€¦. The next day i get another call aggressively telling me i havnt dropped the truck off and im 2 days late (truck has been in their lot since Saturday night) i re explain again what happend and he said hed look into it. Finally they seem to have figured put what went wrong. Ive never had this hard of a time renting a uhaul. This location seemed severely under staffed which could be the cause too this issue.Matt G.

Agents were a little abrupt and not very polite. Also initially the fuel level was wrongly noted on the contract and was indicated more than what showed on the gauge, upon showing the gauge picture and the agent said he has fixed the level to 1/2 tank which was the right, amount. However upon return the agent at return location showed me that in Uhaul system it was showing that I had full tank which was incorrect and dishonest on the renting location's agent part. Instead of correcting the fuel level from more than half which was incorrect to changing it to half which was correct level he changed it to full. As a result the return location was going to charge additional $80 plus tax. However that was avoided when I objected and showed the picture that I had with the odometer reading at start of rental, Not a pleasant and positive experience at all. However when returned the vehicle the fuel level was more than 3/4 so I ended up returning it with more fuel than I had to start will. Based on this I should be provided with a refund for that amount.Mayank R.

The representative that served us at this location was extremely rude and condescending. We were told by a customer service rep over the phone that the truck was at this location and that the rental tools (Dolly's) were there as well. When we arrived the man gave us nothing but attitude and insulted the companies customer service rep that we had spoken to. Provide guide on mileage. You drive 100km buy 12 L. I filled the tank. Drove 71 km and paid $51 for gas. Because I was moving furniture out of storage I did not wear my hearing aides when submitting keys person said thank you for doing that but that is why we say to the level it started at. My truck overheated and broke down. U haul Orleans told me I had to call roadside assistance. It took 30 minutes to get ahold of roadside assistance. Another 30 minutes for them to arrange a tow truck. Uhaul said sending me a new truck was not an option. The tow truck was suppose to be there within 60 minutes. It was not. I broke down at 3 pm in Ottawa (Right behind the Costco on Innes). At 9pm I left the truck and cabbed home. Worst rental experience of my lifeChristopher S.

Staff are not knowledgeable about the services provided at all. Every service that I purchased I had trouble with. I was told I could access my UBox anytime up to the time it shipped - never was it mentioned that I would need to book a reservation time to pack it. I then received an email later in the evening, the day I first had access to the pod, telling me that they had prepared the box for shipping. So much for the 2-3 day window I was told of and quoted in my contract. It was extremely stressful to receive when in the middle of moving at 10pm in the evening when there isn't anyone easily accessible to talk to. The van that I rented was absolutely disgusting inside, clearly not cleaned - I understand that we are not in the peak of the pandemic any more, but had marks on my clothes from just sitting down on the driver's seat driving the van from the facility to my home. I was told that the moving help I paid for would be able to deliver the pod and return it back to the facility in my destination city, this is not the case. I am now in the middle of trying to sort this out after being told incorrect information.Kelsi F.

The trailer was not that clean - I had to sweep it out prior to using it. I also had to point out that two of the four marker/clearance lights were not working, and the license plate light was also not working. It wasn't a problem for me, as I was not planning on towing the trailer when it was dark. Overall the trailer performed well. The young man who helped me check the trailer out was helpful. The young man who checked the trailer in was busy on his phone, seemed annoyed that I was interrupting his cell phone viewing, directed me to back into a space but wasn't spotting properly, and had a blue tooth speaker pumping out, "Big Balls" by AC/DC.Mike S.

I reserved a specific size and left my credit card on file to guarantee the space I needed. When I got there, they told me they didn't have my size. I ended up having to get two spaces that cost me $150 plus taxes more than what I had reserved. When I went to the manager and told him what had happened. He told me I should have come in and reserved right away. I told him that the person that I spoke to on the phone never told me that. He told me that it was too bad and there was nothing he could do. When I finally had to take the two smaller units, there was mouse feces all over the ground. The facility is poorly maintained. I’ve been using U-Haul for over 2 years and so far my experience are pleasant. The Manager is very understanding and helpful, (I believe his name was Steven), who helped me previously. Jason, the gentleman that assisted me yesterday July 1st was very accommodating, super patient and helpful. All the staff are approachable and friendly. The customer service is awesome. Although, the wait time on the phone is way too long being on hold. The mobile check In and out is super convenient. The website could be improved. The storage units are clean and well maintained. *The only request I can ask is that for the units that are on 2nd level could really use a mechanical lift to help elevate and lift the furniture/appliance, household items, because just like me with back injuries could help not contribute to more injury and prolonged the back pains when moving the stuff into the storage(s). There was rodent droppings in the unit. I couldn’t quickly locate a broom to sweep out the unit, so I had to use my shoe to try and remove as much as possible before storing my items. Additionally, the heat is still on in the loading dock and made it uncomfortable for unloading things unless we kept opening the garage door. These things aside, the experience was great - staff were friendly and attentive. The manager and staff at uhaul were always very professional and answered all my questions patiently, they deal with a great deal of customer driven stress but always keep their cool. The security set up with keypad sign in and out is the best in the industry, far better than the competition. - the trucks were not parked in order: when we picked up our truck, it took 4 times before getting a truck that was actually accessible. The first one was stuck between two other trucks, then, the 2nd one, one door was not closing, the 3rd one was also stuck between two trucks... We had to look at a truck available (i.e. in front of truck line) and run back to the staff inside to tell them which one was in the front.
