The lady was very short with us when we were standing there waiting on her to answer our questions while she checked the truck back in, basically told us we owed extra money for mileage and as soon as the payment went through told us we were done but never answered our questions. So, basically took my money and dismissed me. My rental was not ready at 6am like requested. They don't take $50 off for the â€œguaranteed rentalâ€ the lock on the back of the truck was the wrong lock. Thankfully a U-Haul represtative got to work early and quickly got us another truck. Took an hour and had to pay my helper for the wasted time. Hidden fees on the insurance, they will charge you $14 more if you go over the miles that there system generates. So if you have to make two trip your pay an extra $14 plus .040 a mile. Driver was unable to deliver ubox due to illness. No back up driver. I had to scramble to find a truck and go pick up ubox, quickly load, and drive it back so it could get shipped. On delivery the moving company which was selected by uhaul went out of business, no one told me until day of so I had to scramble the figure this all out. Had to cancel and reselect movers. I was renting a trailer to haul some brush. Your agent didn't know the difference between a utility trailer and an enclosed trailer. Then he said he didn't have the size I wanted and was looking for another size, then he realized he had the size that was out front. Didn't receive the 26 foot truck I reserved. Had to get a 15 foot instead. Due to lack of availability through 24/7 pick up. Spent over an hr and a half in the parking lot with customer service trying to pick up my truck. Then had to make two trips with a smaller truck doubling my miles in town. Which if I had gotten the truck I originally reserved this would have never happened. Was still charged full price for everything with zero compensation. The young man here was excellent. However he was all alone with no other staff. My service as a moving help affiliate was unable to be completed as ordered due to lack of staff. Jacob is a goddamn rockstar and is hands down the best person I have EVER dealt with, went way over and above, all with a smile, despite being clearly, blatantly understaffed. Whoever at corporate needs to hear this, this is your quarterback right here, give him the team he needs to succeed. Both times I was in this location, Jacob was the only person working, handling multiple clients at the same time. If there were another person on staff, the customers wouldn't be waiting and thus growing frustrated. What a nightmare. Back and forth on what trucks were available, pricing quotes changed four times. Waited a week (a day before my scheduled pick up date) and still no one ever called to verify what location or truck I would be picking up. I had to call an hour before close just to be called back by someone else - quoted a fourth different price and had wrong information listed on my reservation and be told the truck I needed wasn't available. Showed up to pick up and was given a price OVER DOUBLE what I had been quoted (with the correct truck now at least). Told the guy, he swears and then just knocks $100 off. Brought the truck back the next day as stipulated just to run into a system issue online where the truck couldn't be checked in properly. Ugh, as if moving wasn't hard enough. Take the time to do the pre-registration for equipment needed. Takes a lot less time to pickup your trailer etc. The young man said as soon as he saw I filled out application, this will take no time.
