That is not taking into consideration that I had called at 7:30 to advise them I was going to be late and they put me on hold 20 minutes. Bad customer service.
MICHEL RI wanted to pay by cash at check in. The attendant had no change; said final payment could made by cash so I gave credit card #. Upon return, new attendant said no I couldn't and too complicated. Refused cash, looked away dismissively. Truck very dirty not even swept out, LCBO receipts on driver's side.

Paul BI rented a Pick-Up truck and an Auto-Hauler trailer. All were ready when I got there. Truck and trailer enabled me to do the job I wanted very easily. The Auto-Hauler is very capable unit. The location was well staffed and I didn't have to wait long. Hint: best to use the equipment mid-week and mid-day if you can.
DONALD HThe enclosed 6x12 trailer was not as advertised; it is not appropriate for motorcycles. It did not have a ramp, despite other enclosed Uhaul 6x12 trailers having them, in my experience. The guy at the desk didn't know anything about Uhaul trailers.

HUMBERTO TI booked my truck 6 weeks in advance to pick up at 10 am at the Innis Road location. I got a call it would be late and pick up would be at 11:15. I got there at 11:15 and there was no truck. They called the emergency uhaul service and the girl told me I would have to drive 1.5 hours one way to get a a 20 foot truck!! I had rented a 15 foot truck. I got upset and she told me that was my only option, with an attitude. I told her I wasn't leaving until they found me a 15 foot truck which they did 15 minites later at the Coventry Road location. They were fabulous at Coventry Road.

Ilias JI would give this location an Above Average or Excellent rating if I didn't have to return in person after each time I rent from U-Haul. This is NOT a problem with this location but with U-Haul's charging system. Every time I rent a vehicle (this is the 3rd time in a row), I have provided my native status card for PST exemption on the charges. The VERY helpful staff verifies and confirms it is in the system. But each time I check my final receipt, I have been charged the full HST of 13%. So I have to return each time after I have completed my rental and the VERY helpful staff have to refund me the overcharge of the portion of HST that I do not pay. Again, this is NOT the staff's problem but U-Haul's charging system. The staff are excellent and very helpful at this location.
JOHANAN FI booked a truck for pickup in Perth and drop off in Smiths Falls. Instead I was told I had to make my way all the way to the city at my own expense of time and gas to pick up a truck. When I was told the kilometres would be covered I didn’t realize that we would be responsible for the additional expense of the gas too. So we had to drive the truck from the city and pay a lot more for the gas (moving is already financially difficult and so I don’t appreciate the extra burden that was placed on us). The kilometres were appreciated. Ultimately, the gas should have been covered too.

ANDREW SThe location was very poorly maintained, although due to inclement weather, the entire lot had not been cleared of snow at pick up at 9am, when returned in the afternoon at 3pm it still had not been cleared and had easily 2feet of snow causing vehicles to be stuck. The rental itself continued to change in price, from the initial payment due of $64 at pickup according to the reservation and app became $116 at pickup. Upon return it was now $118 for total cost due to milage and gas. When making a reservation based on price, I expect that the price holds true based on initial price. The staff were not helpful at all when requesting an explanation of the changes, were dismissive and said I quote, "that's the price, deal with it". I will NEVER be using UHaul again and will instead go with competitor companies for future needs.

Gagan KTypically I look for the smaller outlets since checkout wait times sometimes are huge (over an hour in some cases). This time however the processing went super fast and very friendly. You should update their credit card machines as those are super slow (no tap and bit of an embarrassment).

PAUL GI am requesting a refund - we were given a truck with a dead battery. Our move was delayed by many hours because of this. The truck ended up dying before we were able to move our items. Very dissatisfied that there was no follow up after we told the team about it as we were given the full charge despite this.

RAUF KWhen I arrived, the main system was down. The worker there told me there was nothing I could do, I was slightly annoyed there was no offline options to process the truck. This was frustrating as it seemed really stupid. When I was leaving, i saw the two men beside me were being served. I found out they were using a backup system. Awful customer service from the man who told me I had no options instead of “let’s try the backup system and it may work. Please be patient”. I told him so. He was maybe middle aged, Latin American, with a silver and turquoise ring. This man has very poor customer service skills. The truck itself was effective and clean.

GORDON DVery satisfied overall, especially for the quality of the customer service personnel in the location, quality of the vehicles, and of the price for the rental and supplies. One issue is that upon booking a truck in advance for a certain day and time, U-Haul takes our booking without knowing for sure if the truck size required is available. Only 24 hours ahead of time we were told that the size of truck we needed was not avaible: we had to change the time of our move (from one city to another) and we had to make a second interurban trip because the only truck available (later on moving day) was too small.

It also not an attack on the person who helped me, rather some tips for management on how to ensure that clients are not leaving more stressed, like I was: - Avoid assuming that (returning) clients don't need verbal communication about important terms of use. - Have a standard procedure that every representative has to perform for every client - including returning customers. Could be 3 sentences - reminder to fuel up the vehicle before returning, average mileage rates, and drop off procedures). - Even if there is a time delay due to rush hour or tech issues, encourage representatives to prioritize ensuring that clients know about key costs. People are okay with being a bit late, if it means they can save on costly mistakes.

He then proceeded to tell me that the lock I had purchased (a high security level) was not good and that I needed to purchase his lock. Horrible customer service.

I had settled on a final payment for my unit due to negligence to maintenance of their property my property had been damaged! I lost 3 tvs a bunch of artwork clothes covered in mold and all my tools rusted. I should've just let the unit go and allowed it to be their problem but despite my better judgement I agreed to settle on a price and move my belongings out of my unit and terminate my occupancy. Upon going to pay for my settlement price the "general manager" or at least that's what his shirt said was completely ignorant and basically tried to bully me into paying an outrageous price instead of the discussed settled price by trying to strong arm me, he aggressively approached me stating "you're here to pay your full amount and get out" I replied no I'm here to pay my settled amount and nothing more. I had spoken with. A woman by the name of Melanie and she was such a great help and a breath of fresh air during this disgusting encounter. She had discussed a settlement price with me which I went to go pay in full and start moving out my items. They gave me until the 4th of August to remove my items or they will be declared garbage. I assured her I will be out by that day. I arrived today July 30th to remove whatever items I can fit in my car until I have access to a truck this weekend, later today (July 30th) after doing my loads for the day the "general manager" calls and says "uhh yes why is your lock still on our locker you're supposed to move out today" I replied no I have until the 4th to remove my belongings and unlock the unit. does UHaul not train their management staff members on properly talking to the general public as well as basic knowledge on their job? There is no excuse for me to be greeted in such an aggressive manner, there is no excuse for harassing me and contacting me at my private number when they clearly have the information on their system stating I have the unit until the 4th!! Just curious how he got his job position because he is absolutely useless at his job. Offers zero positive marks for customer service experience during my visit, belittled a worker in front of me because they were going to allow me to make sure my belongings were still in there, attempted to strong arm/bully me into paying an outrageous price, had zero knowledge on the situations going on in his location, and now harassing his clients over problems he could quickly find the answer to in my file with u haul! Terrible experience. I will NEVER use uhaul again. They ruined most of my belongings that I cared enough about to pay for storage on and then bullied me when I asked for a solution. Anyone who asks me will be getting referred to another storage facility because this experience was/is just unacceptable. I can't believe I paid you guys 315$ today just to retrieve belongings that were completely ruined by flood damage due to your negligence of maintenance to your facility and the lack of information I was given when I rented the unit! IF THE UNIT FLOODS LET THE RENTER KNOW AT THE TIME OF SIGNING!! NOT 4 MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD AFTER YOU HAVE ALREADY DESTROYED THEIR BELONGINGS. I WILL BE SENDING THIS EXACT MESSAGE TO HEAD OFFICE.

The story goes, the day I returned my truck, After i moved out of my home, when I left my husband, he called th3 uhaul asked if hus wife was there with my rental gave my name , the woman on the phone from uhaul tells him yes I'm there, in so doing this she violates uhauls privacy policy with giving out a customers information out to a third party . I never gave permission to have my wearabouts or information given to anyone. I have called corporate several times left many messages and have not been given a call back. Very disappointed 😞 and outraged that I have not even been compensated for the damage that was caused because of this. My husband showed up assaulted a friend and the police had to be called. This was a breach of privacy.

They sent me an update by email on the 15th of the month that I rented and I sent them a update on the 31st stating that I had vacated as I promised. I also told the worker who was outside I had vacated. There was no procedure given and as we buy or own locks there is no reason to return to the facility especially since we were communicating by email and they're completely understaffed and poor customer service inside this facility. They state they ignore the emails and again no notification that they ignore the emails and donnot reply. I also called in to the facility as well. This is illegal and predatory as I am a handicap and this facility should be fined and people arrested especially if they are doing this to other disabled and elderly people.

DENIS R | Overall ExperienceAbsolutely awful customer service — and no maintenance of the grounds what so ever. If anything they made it EVEN HARDER to get to the locker. From not snow plowing after major snow falls, parking rental trucks in front of the entrances and making it nearly impossible to enter the locker area. At one point an employee even had THEIR PERSONAL CAR parked at the only exit of the locker area. Because of the way the entrance to the lockers is set up I hit my truck twice on the side wall. When I first signed up for the locker it took them THREE DAYS because the locker “had a lock on it” even though it was supposed to be empty. They never answered the phone to help me with my issue so I had to repeatedly call — while being obviously hung up on — until someone finally decided to answer in an annoyed voice. Absolutely ridiculous set up and staff is so excruciatingly unhelpful and rude. I could not recommend this location any less than I do.

And in the very heavy rains the water went all the way through the facility. I ended up putting all my stuff up on risers and planned to get out as soon as I could. Having said that, the staff were always helpful and contacted us as soon as it happened.

Picked up truck at 6:30pm explained I'm going to furniture store to get sofa and I'm coming back to get my stuff from the storage and I specifically asked if I'm ok to access the storage after 7pm closing time and I was told that's fine. On my big surprise I couldn't access the storage cuz they put a second lock that I didn't have a key for. Had to turn around and leave plus send home friends that came to help. Next morning I asked manager Ben again why is this happening. His answer was there's no access to the storage after 7pm....the evening before he said opposite. So dear u haul you lost me as a customer forever.

I have been told this is not an isolated incident and that this is entrenched in how Uhaul conducts themselves. I am the Director of Communications for a $15 Billion CPG company and will also be reaching out to my national media contacts across Canada to share my story in hopes that I can save someone else from renting through Uhaul and save them from thousands of dollars in damages, too. On top of not properly maintaining the drainage system at the facility, Uhaul does nothing to mitigate vermin and instead just traps the ones they find, does not dispose of their carcasses, and does not care that they run rampant across the storage facility. Just an absolutely horrendous experience from start to finish.
