I rent a truck and trailer to travel to Tallahassee for a roundtrip with a fast turnaround. In travel, the travel wheel flew off the trailer and I was out of commission for almost 4 hours until the roadside assistance. The travel was 4 hours behind and I didn't get home until midnight. This is the 3rd time I have rented from this location and the 3rd time the trucks are filthy, again and equipment is broken which delayed our trip by 3 hours. This location interrogated us like criminals with no explanation as to why. This location will not address complaints and poor service. Extremely poor management at this location. We needed a 20' truck and were told that there weren't any 20' trucks available. The only option was a 26' truck. So we rented that for more money of course. There was too much space so we had to maneuver everything and strap it in so it wouldn't fall during transport. It was also much more difficult for me to drive. When we returned the truck a little less than 24 hours laterâ€¦ Those very same 7-10 20' trucks were still available. There's no reason why one of those would not have been available. I don’t imagine storage facilities varying much so it’s really the customer service that determines quite a lot of the opinions customers have. I just felt like whenever I would go inside I had to wait to be acknowledge or for a simple question I wouldn’t get answers. This whole experience has been a nightmare. First, The Olean NY rep that gave me a moving quote "apparently" did not realize how Palmbay FL works. He quoted me door to door. Palm Bay then said it would cost me another $200+ to get to my door because "they don't do it like that" . Your reps were rude and condesending ; I will never use U-Haul again. Truck did not have enough gas to make it the required 61 miles - tank mileage was set at 54 miles, which meant there was an extra stop for gas. Additionally, my preferred location was changed last minute, which resulted in an extra 13 miles. I was charged for an extra 8 miles, which I did not appreciate. The truck also did not have an appliance dolly in the truck, and I had to waste time going back and forth to the customer center to get it. If I had picked up the truck after business hours, I wouldn't have had it.Michael S.

His name was Kenneth Bruce, or Bruce Kenneth. I liked the fact that the shop floor was clean and the technician used seat covers, floor mat covers and steering wheel covers. They charged me for more gas than they used they said it was full and it was only half full and I took pictures of it And they said I went like a 100 miles and I didn't and they charged me from cause because all II didn't do that much mileage because I only had to put $10 worth a gas in it and they're saying I went to a 100 miles and charge me like I don't know how to look at the paper like 400 And something dollars And the other overcharged thing was like 200 you're it in something mean how could they overcharge you this much and not know it and not getting con I did get no email bill or anything of how much it was 1st time I ever had problems with you hall now I want to use them again and we'll call tomorrow and talk to somebody that's in charge and see if I can get my money right away It's too much money to have to wait that long to get I'm very unhappySharon H.

Waited in line for 40 minutes to pick up the truck with a reservation. Had a small rain storm and in the right front all my stuff got wet cause there was a leak. One of the back up lights was not working. When you rent a truck for moving you expect your stuff inside the truck to be safe from weather. I had to repack a few things when I got to storage.JO AN A.

This was not my original and reserved pick up location. When I arrived at my original pickup location the truck I had reserved had not been delivered so I had to go to this location and they opened a whole new order.Katherine J.
The location needs more workstation and employees to assist customers on checkout. I have rented two trailers this month from this location and the wait time is auful. I had a customer in line behind me ask the manager if she could help. See didn't hear the person or just ignored the request and keep on counting supplies. Understaffed and management that has not been trained in customer assistance. I have returned to this location several times and observed the same issues. I realized without staff and proper management training, this large location has no chance for improvement.Terry E.

A few nights I came to get a few small loads out of storage and a few different homeless people hung out next to the doors. One actually helped me load a heavy box, never asked for money, the other simply wanted to wait for the doors to open so he could go in and grab blankets that were left in the area where people can donate moving stuff to other movers. It took 4 transactions in 2 days to get my storage unit correctly. 1st one was privately locked and no on knew why. 2nd one- ended with 2 smaller units- 1 I filled then 2nd one was locked and sold. They had no record of my transaction from previous day. Including unit I was in at that time. 3rd- i asked the lady to check unit before giving it to me. She proceeded to give me unit that was locked from previous day. It showed her that paperwork and her coworker told her that I was correct. 4th- she went back and checked it to make sure this time it was correct. 1 moved everything from smaller unit to the new bigger unit. 5th- went back to double check everything and tell them unit was changed over. Turned out code was same as someone else and causing problems. Changed code with 4th agent. End result- I was given 1 free month for all of my troubles. That is appreciated. Part this could have been prevented by a simple walk back to check Unit. I even heard the supervisor ask why they didn't check on 1st day. The U-Box service seemed like something they are not trained well enough in and was very disorganized. Upon picking them up although I had pre-paid I was charged again and had to wait many days for a refund to correct the mistake, my containers were sent over 100 miles away for storage when I thought they would be stored at that location. It took over 24 hours for them to arrive after requesting access to them for pick-up. One of the boxes was damaged at the doorway and if it were not for the orange covering the things would have spilled out and in two of the boxes the things on the inside had water damage from what looked like rain had gotten inside and stuff in my cardboard box was mold ridden and we had to throw away. I don't think I would recommend this service especially at that location.Robin F.

My mattress was rained on the ceiling leaked all over my mattress, I should have realized this when the receptionist said we have to clean out the unit & remove the tarp, indicating that there's a roof leak. When I notified the front desk about the damage yo my mattress I was told abruptly to file a claim...no apology, I will not recommend your facility, I feel you have structural problems at your facility and they're not fixed, you take the $ and keep the public in the dark. I first reserved a storage unit via the Uhaul website at BP Moving & Storage in Palm Bay, Florida. I received confirmation of my reservation via email - all good. I then called BP about a week in advance to ask if everything was set. The person replied that it was set - great! Then, as I'm moving from Minnesota and stopping late at night, I reviewed my emails and noticed my storage unit had been cancelled! WHAT ????#$(@* I am in route with a 20 foot Uhaul truck and my unit is now cancelled? I called the 1-800 UHAUL number and explained the situation. They told me I had rented from an "affiliate" location and there was nothing they could do about that cancellation (remember, I had reserved ON the UHAUL WEBSITE). So, now I"m really annoyed, but the nice customer service person found me another unit in Palm Bay at a different facility. Great. Then, as I'm moving in a day later, I get a call from BP Moving and Storage, all upset and angry that I am not showing up at their location! Now, I'm not very happy about this at all and told the gentleman that the problem is with the UHaul organization or whomever generated the email cancelling my unit! He was not very nice. I can understand why he is upset. Buyer beware - I'd recommend staying away from the affiliate locations because the communication is very poor. Both the video provided to assist in moving in, and the contract emailed to me specified that a lock would be provided. Video stated to break the seal, open the door and the lock would be inside the unit. There was no lock, and I was told at the store that I would have to purchase their lock. I also had a hard time locating the unit. The layout is confusing, and it is quite a way from the entrance. It is unclear how and when to enter the access codes, especially on a Sunday when it was considered after hours. I finally figured it out. I reserved a 10x15 online 1 week prior to going in. Upon arrival I was told the unit I reserved was already sold and they did not have another one. I had to settle for a 10x10. After completing paper work I went to my new unit only to find it already had a lock on it and a notice saying it had been evicted due to non payment. I then went back and told the associate, who then had me walk back to the unit to confirm what I had told her. Upon arriving back at the check out area I was told they didn't have another unit and they could offer me a 10x8. I reluctantly accepted it because I needed a unit and wanted one at this location since it was convient for me. After going to the unit I realized I would not be able to fit all of my furniture in such a small unit. I notice another unit with a green tag that looked to be the size of a 10x10. So upon arriving back at the check out for a 3rd time I asked for a refund and acquired about the other unit I had seen. The women looked it up and found out that even though the last person had cleared all of thier things out uhal never actually took them off of the unit. That's why it wasn't showing as available. She called the previous customer to confirm they had closed out account and after talking to th gentleman told me they could offer me that unit. I had to settle for a smaller unit but was happy that I had one. After arriving home and a couple hours later I received a call from uhal. I was told that when they kept switching the units from a 10x10 to a 10x8 then again to a 10x10 they refunded me back to much money and needed me to return to the location to give them back the 31 dollars they had given me. I understand mistakes happen but after all I had been through to then ask me to drive back to the location was unprofessional. It was there mess up and they should have owned up to it and taken the loss. Especially after making me wait in line 4 times and having to basically tell them about a storage unit that was available. If it wasn't for the fact that the facility is well lit clean and convientet and the fact that I am also getting a truck from this location, I would have had no issue getting my money back and going to another storage company.
