The Paterson location handled our reservation well. My issue is with the online process and the Totowa location. We selected the PCT location in Pompton Plains. A day later, I was called from the Totowa location and we confirmed the change in location. The following morning I received a text message that it was moved to this location which was significantly further and added to the stress of a move. When I called the Totowa branch that morning, I asked the service representative if there was anything he could do and he replied in a very sarcastic way "that a rental is waiting for me at the Paterson location".Michael F.

The truck was dirty, the miles that they told me was 2 miles more than on the paper, the gas was under what he said abs then to make things better they told me to be back before 12am and I would not get charged a second day. I came back before 11 like I told him I would and still got charged for 2 days. Total rip off. I would like for someone to call me please 2018735258WAYNE B.

Horrible Experience ! Will never use again ! We made reservations and n advance but still had to drive 50 miles each way to pick up a truck. I was charged the mileage at full cost. Two hundred dollars and three hour trip just to pick up the truck.,Rafael G.

Place was fine, staff was fine...trailer was fine...but misleading. A 6x12 trailer was rented to move a load that required 5 foot 6 inches. Unfortunately, uhaul trailers can only load 5 foot wide at the rear. Shame on me for not checking, but why they hell would you do that? Made the entirely rental useless and I returned the next day. Won't be back since a 6 foot wide trailer that only fits 5 foot wide at the rear is useless for my purposes.PAUL T.

Would like to thank both David & Bruce! Both these men went out of their way to make sure i was in and out of the facility with no time disruption. I would like to acknowledge the man that checked me out in the AM. He went over the trailer in very good detail, Found the leak in the tire was plugged and was not safe so he had the tire changed. He took the time to do the job right. He seemed to the person in charge, but either way he was polite, cared about he job and took the time to ensure I had a safe and functional trailer. Having rented from uhaul before, I can tell you that this man should be recognized for taking the extra steps required for the customer and the company.James W.

This place will steal money from you. They will charge you for supplies you didn't use, then tell you they will refund you, then they will stop responding entirely. What a poorly run location. I have already left bad google reviews and will make sure to contact corporate when I have time. Shame!Steven F.

First of all, the first location (on grand avenue) claimed they gave away our truck despite our reservation, making for a chaotic rush to secure another moving vehicle. We walked into the facility at 9:45 and our reservation was for 9:30. There had not been told that our truck would be given away within 15 minutes of the scheduled pick up time, nor did we even receive any notification that our reservation had then been cancelled because we were â€œlateâ€. The location we were then sent to (market street) luckily had a truck available, but was horrible. My business has used u-haul exclusively for our storage and moving needs, but today will be the last time we give u-haul our business.GERI R.

rental on a Wed. put boxes in the UHaul next AM opened the door the entire inside was drenched with water. Called service they explained the truck was in an accident never repaired, they caulked it had to wait 2-3 hours before filling. Filled, next AM wet again shooting through the light. Had to exchange truck for another, did not have the size. Two days of not packing pushed trip off 2 days, had to fill and in-fill, repack due to the water, fill. Had to get second truck at a different location. Two times of being inconvenienced for the pick up and in the middle of what should have been me leaving, not picking up a truck. So the repairs were faulty x several attempts obviously which lead to a very BIG inconvenience to me and I had to rearrange the entire trip schedule. Not cool.donna O.

The location was fine, but the corporate folks were the problem. They said that I could go to the location with my car that I was planning on trailering and the folks there could help me get the car on the trailer, no problem. However when I arrived the folks here said they don't do that and didn't have anybody there to help even if they did. This caused a big problem for me and was easily avoidable with proper information.justin F.

Make sure your equipments are properly cleaned and in working conditions. The side mirror from the passenger side could not be adjusted which made it difficult for me to safely handle the truck and turns. The inside of the windshield looked like it hasn't been cleaned in weeksFreddy F.
i picked up the truck on the 20th of september. The spanish girl was very helpful. The only problem I had was when i went back to get the transport hooked up the truck. I traveled from paterson nj to woodbridge nj which is not far. I noticed that the ropes that hold the front wheels of my pickup truck to the transport were completely off. someone could of got killed because the ropes were not installed right by the uhaul guy who did it. I had to call road assistance and after an hour, they decided to send someone out to fix it. I almost got charged for this even though i had purchased, safe trip and insurance on the truck and transport which is ridiculous. The lady at road assistance was very helpful in making sure my concerns was addressed to the manager that day. The tech came out and told me that the uhaul tech had placed the ropes wrong. If u place the ropes correctly, they are impossible to come off. He was right because I made it to tn which is about 800 miles and the ropes were still on tight. I am grateful to the lady in road assistance for sending me the right person to fix the problem. Other than that incident, everything went well. The 20ft truck did its job on hauling and towing by vehicle and it was great on gas which was nice.JESUS T.

After I returned the trailer some one made 2 unauthorized charges to my debit card at DOORDASH. It seems like a mighty big coincidence in which I had to put a hold on my card and dispute the charges.JOHN D.

This process was a nightmare from start to finish. They changed my location 3 times, I lost a full day, and the next scheduled day they didnt have the truck i reserved. I had to wait for them to get it. Ill never use UHaul again nor will i recomend them.Gislaine M.

Pick up to was at 12:30pm. Once arrived to pick up truck I was told that I had to wait until they got a new extension for the tow, was given an ETA of 10minute. I checked in again at 1:06pm and ask the front desk guy, he told me I had to just wait and he has no answer for me when I asked him where the other guy was with the extension. After telling him that it's cutting into my time frame with the truck, I told me there was nothing he can do. As a customer, we are given a time to be somewhere to pick up a truck, if we have to wait over an hour after the given time; the company should be held accountable for not having their equipment ready. Once I received the truck with the tow, the wheels strap on the R/S was ripped (not safe). Not happy with the experience nor the customer service I was given.JHOSUE L.

The agent that checked me in was rude when I first arrived and on a personal phone call trying to calm someone down. I was not acknowledged when I arrive by either of the 2 guys that were there before the female agent that pulled the male agent was assisting me a way in the middle of my picking up my truck took her personal call on her personal cell phone and had me waiting. The young lady that was helping me was very nasty she was not helpful at all I had to go online and make my reservation because when I got there she told me that they had no trucks or vans available but that was a lie she just didn't want to do her job. They young man. On the other had was more polite and very helpful when I returned the van. The customers behind me was telling me how nasty she was with the when they was there recently.
