kilsy mThe age and lack of quality of equipment is the biggest negative here. Vns are old. Some smell of smoke. Trailer was old, dirty, and damaged. Really worn out. The service representative was kind, helpful, and went through the process very quickly. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. The online process is lengthy, but thorough, and speeds up the process with little wait in the store.

RESTY RWhen I returned the trailer I knocked on the side door and window but neither attendant would answer the door or a knowledge I was there. I could have simply left the trailer and left. Instead I had to go around to the front. Guess this is the new generation, not impressed. There were no other customers in the store.

That should have been done prior to renting the truck. In addition, costumer service booked my pickup at the wrong location and the wrong time. 1:00 am really! How can I rent a truck at that time, if the store doesn't open 🤔 until 7:00am? Moving is stressful enough, I didn't need the added aggravation.

Dora SI rented a U-Haul and the truck broke down and made me wait 7 hours which wasted my entire Sunday. I arrived home at 11 at night. meter. and the next morning U-Haul called me to tell me that he would not return the truck and that they would call the police if he did not return it. I instantly arrive at the U-Haul warehouse in Plainfield, New Jersey, where I tell them that the truck is outside and that I returned that same Sunday. They didn't realize the truck was in their own parking lot and they never checked their own mailbox where the keys are supposed to be left. I told the manger what happened and she didn't even pay attention to my situation. I lost an entire day of work due to this incident.

Rick MI have filled in more gas than what has been mentioned in the file. I should get a refund and I don't see anything related to it mentioned anywhere.
Ram VThe truck had 1/8th of a tank of gas. I was told that if I return it with 1/4 thank or more I would get a $50 credit. The location of this facility is not very friendly when maneuvering a 20ft truck and there are few gas stations in the vicinity. Finally found a gas station that had the room to get to a pump without blocking everybody. Frustrating for a non-professional driver and I never did get the credit for returning it with more than a quarter tank.

ophiel bThe employee on shift when I picked up my tow dolly was very helpful. This was my first time renting a trailer and he took the time to help me put the hitch on, brought out another hitch to check the size in case mine was wrong, and hooked up the trailer for me. I was very appreciative.
Tarun MIt was good and staff was helpful and friendly. The only problem was the U-Hailt app freezed when I was doing the return myself before it was off hours. U-Haul's IT or software developer needs to do a better job. I saw the same app issues on other reviews.
FRED CJoanne was amazing, she was very knowledgeable and patience with providing information. She made my experience welcoming. You need more people like her. I look forward to booking with Uhaul in the future if needed and would surely pass on redeeming this location because of herz
Shannon BLock for back of truck was broken. Had to call roadside to remove it. Took roadside almost 2 hours for someone to show up. Still waiting to see if I will get any money back for the time spent waiting for truck to be opened.

FRANCIS AWhile dropping off, please ensure that the trucks are pulled up all the way in. I could not enter the facility completely and my truck was blocking the side walk. I had to get out and alert the employee to pull up the other trucks in the front to make space.

PAM BI do not advertise commercial establishments for free, which is why I will not publicly recommend this location to friends. You should talk to the City of Plainfield about its broken glass problem, as it caused a blowout of one of my hand truck tires, delaying my move-out by several days. Also, I lost a caster wheel to a track in one of Plainnfield’s sidewalks. Fortunately, I was able to borrow my ex-wife’s Subaru to complete the move-out.

Eliot MThe truck I rented had a warning that the front right tire's pressure was low. I told the staff about it and they said that they had just filled the tire up and that the warning should disappear in a few minutes. The warning never went out, and driving a truck on highways for 80 miles was very worrying. The sun visors on the truck were also pretty beat up and would not stay locked in place.

Emilio FThe mobile app is complete garbage. If you click out of the process a live operator needs to send a link to get back to where you left off. It’s just terrible. Also, if you don’t show up within 30 minutes to your appointment, you need can no longer check out your truck without re-scheduling. Again, terrible. This should be made clear.
DAVID RRepresentative did not want to receive equipment. Representative wanted me to return equipment to originally scheduled drop off location which was a 50 minute drive away. Representative did not have a phone number for me to call to arrange drop off location modification.

DWAYNE GLocation says it was supposed to be open until 7. They were closed at 6:40 when I arrived to drop off. Additionally, the return process through the app was atrocious.

OMOBOLA OHi! I was charged wrongly for the miles I used (50 miles more). I called to customer service, sent the picture for the attendant, waited for 72 hours and no response… bad service and I feel deceived.
Eliza SStaff stares instead of speaking out loud to even acknowledge guests. Front doors locked unnecessarily with multiple, conflicting explanations provided to me and corporate. Zero follow-up from management to resolve issues. Dead roaches and rats in hallway and bathroom, rat feces in storage areas. Listed office hours are not kept, staff freely admits they close early and have verbally reported earlier close times than those listed on the door.

His coworker Fryer was no help at all and was extremely rude and unprofessional to every single customer he came into contact with in the store and outside in the parking lot. It was if he was looking to get fired or fight. I've never witnessed anything like it. My reservation was changed without my knowledge, consent, nor authorization. The location locked doors and refused to answer the phone at 6:20 despite closing time listed at 7pm. I've filed a formal complaint and hopefully will get some of my money back from this terrible experience. Never using uhaul again after removing my belongings from storage.

He was slamming doors at customers and coworker, yelling at his coworker who was quietly cleaning and moving the trucks, sighing and making passive aggressive marks at customers, and telling them to “hurry up because he wanted to go home at 5.” He also got mad and walked away from me when I said I had to back out of renting a space because they had no elevator and that would make moving in and storing my furniture impossible. This was such an unpleasant experience that I also cancelled my truck rental from this location because I did not want to deal with him again.
