BILLY PI feel betrayed by U-Haul. I was given a trailer that the brakes did not probably work on. Not only did the brakes not probably work on the trailer but the shackles/strap bindings and not secure the car on to the trailer properly. It was not until I drove from Dallas Texas back to Tulsa Oklahoma approximately 250 mi that I discovered the straps came off of the tires on the car and that that car could have come off the trailer at any time. The only thing holding the car onto the trailer was two very thin chains. I reattached the tire straps and drove the car another 5 mi over to the repair shop and again one of the straps had to completely off the tire and the other strap was loosened. I'm not a stupid person that I don't know how to put those straps on the tires and buckle them down I have used these trailers multiple times in the past. When I return the trailer in Tulsa Oklahoma I reported the operation of those drop shackles and how they were not latching and holding the tires snug. They inspected them and agreed that they were faulty. I also told the manager about the brakes on the trailer she had me pull my truck just a couple feet forward and slowly apply the brakes that has I did with the trailer empty The trailer jammed up into the back of my truck because the trailer breaks locked up. This behavior with this trailer went on for over 250 mi

DANIEL DRemove the dolly and pads for the inside of the truck. I smart rented pads and had the dollies that I needed. That was in the way of usable space. The employees at the location said we could not remove them. Strongly recommend changing that policy.

MALCOLM M | First ImpressionsThis U Haul is in my neighborhood. I've used it for everything from boxes to local trucks to one-way with kid furniture. Never had a problem, never had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for anything. This is just a user experience note. Y'all's phone app for exit photos and people-less pickup is a piece of crap. At least on iPhones. I'm not an idot but that app will make me feel like one.
PHILIP Heither U-Haul, or perhaps this location in particular HAS to figure your return after hours process out. Or blame it on the app. whatever the case, it is a disaster. The app wouldn't accept the pictures I was taking...and to be honest I'm not even sure I left the keys as I was supposed to (locked in the back, as I found then when I picked the truck up). Using app to pick vehicle up was easy enough. Return was a disaster. I was there at same time as another gentleman and he too was very frustrated trying to use app for drop off.

EDWARD TI have nop problems with the location ot equipment. However, I had a terrible experience with your Android application. After taking a picture of the equipment, I should be taken right back to the screen for more photos or to continue. It did not. I had to hit the back button multiple times before returning to the screen where I could continue after I had taken the requisite photo.

DAVID LCharged me an extra day for 14 minutes over 48 hours.
WELDON WAfter the staff hooked up the trailer to my new truck he went to the back of the trailer and had me cycles through all the light checks. He said all the lights worked. I then started to pull away and my truck alerted me to numerous trailer lights not working. I yelled for him to come back and then put on my hazard light and met him at the rear of the trailer to see what was not working. All the rear trailer lights were inoperative except the lower right light which only glowed dimly. (Obviously the previous lights check was not good and I suspect they only wanted this trailer off their lot to be someone else's problem.) I asked him if they had another same sized trailer and was told no. So I told him I needed to transport my items to Florida and said I was ok taking the trailer the way it was. I knew it was not particularly safe but was willing to take the chance no-one would run into the back of me especially considering the trip was going to be made mostly during daylight hours. In hindsight, the staff should have never let me leave with an illegal trailer light situation. Of course I should not have taken it but felt very pressured to do so in that I had a commitment to get my cargo to Florida and was leaving the next morning very early.

Had to leave my storage truck without unloading and find additional help the next day and drive 1hour each way to drop off help and to turnaround and do it over. General manager Zane only gave me 1additional day on truck rental. No discount on truck for the rep not providing this crucial info about fee for access that lead to all my inconvenience. Therefore if Matthew is a General Manager he failed the corporate office by taking advantage of an emergency situation when he knew about my mother being raped inside of Medical City of Plano. I walked in on them discussing IT early one morning when I dropped off in a 2008 White Cadillac license plates MRR 5500. I was charged $150 plus $39 to get my items out of the storage when the situation could HAVE BEEN RESOLVED when Ashley was there. She even told me that they was in there stealing money from the register as they was using my "personal" money out of my bank account by using Google/Apple Pay. I deposited my retirement funds in a Frost Account with Joe Lemon when I was a contractor with BearCom. Ian was also aware just as well as Mike Guthrie from Ray Huffines. From what I understand, those are their kids when Guthrie rode with me to go to Service King in July.

Last but not least, upon leaving I had to place my lock on my storage. It was a older Hispanic gentleman that works there he was walking around outside. He saw that I was having a hard time with placing my lock in for first time he even came over and helped! 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend this location.

William R | First ImpressionsThey didn't give me my first month free initially. And overcharged my credit card. When I discovered it at the point of sale they said they would refund my credit card. I haven't gotten the money yet. In the meantime they charge the $15 late fee and reinstated the original first month monthly charge. I tried to give a little bit of leeway because the guy who checked me on was being trained. But it is hard when it affects my finances and credit rating. The next thing I know they're going to repossess my furniture. I tried to call them and I had to go on hold for an hour and they said I was in the wrong department and I would have to go on hold for another hour. I don't know how U-Haul can get away with this but I do know that I will never ever use them again and I will also tell everyone I know and post everywhere that I know online about the shoddy service that I received. There was a few other details like they tried to put me into a double decker unit. The unit I actually got I didn't complain about even though the door was half size and it created more effort and moving in. Today nobody seems to care about the customer. I get the impression that their job is just a hobby and the customers just a nuisance. One more thing. The truck that I rented was under a quarter tank of fuel. I don't know why they can't fill it up so I don't have to go to a gas station out of my way rather than one on the way to my destination.

I paid movers to put my items in storage unit 1973. After getting to the unit with a truck load of iitems. The worst thing ever, NO ONE REMOVED THE UHAUL COMPANY LOCK. SO, I WAS LOCKED OUT OF USING UNIT 1973 FOR WHICH IT WAS PAID IN FULL WITH THE EXTRA 10.00 FEE TO HAVE ACCESS TO THE UNIT FOR 24 HOURS A DAY. I HAD TO PAY MY MOVERS FOR AN INCOMPLETE JOB BECAUSE THE UNIT 1973 WAS NEVER AVAILABLE TO ME AFTER IT WAS PAID FOR.

Since I was out of town, and not able to move the contents, UHaul employees moved the contents. Unfortunately, the contents were moved to a second story building with no elevator. At the time I was 79 and preparing for hip surgery. I was not advised that this would be the new location. Further, when I returned, the lock had been changed and I was unable to get into my unit. Eventually, the key was found. In addition, the building has no interior signage indicating the location of the second floor units and there is not access from upstairs hallways to other hallways on the second story. Really a sad situation. While the front desk employees were sympathetic, no one offered any help or any apology for what was a major screw up.

Pat D | First ImpressionsI could be mistaken but I believe the GM name was Jordan. He was very helpful, happy and super funny! On 3/6/20 him and the other employee made my moving day bearable and a thousand times better. Also a customer came in about the brakes on the truck, claiming your company was trying to give her a truck with brakes not working. She was OVER THE TOP rude and Jordan still smiled at her and never once became unprofessional with her. I normally don’t leave comments but as an Area Manager in the restaurant industry, I know praise should be recognized when excellence service is given.
