I was booking online and had a question on the RV storage size Large 13' x 33' x 99'. I wanted to know if this area was large enough for my 33 ft bumper pull travel trailer. I called the location and no one ever answered the phone at the location. I used the chat feature on U-haul and your rep had a difficult time getting an answer. The "manager" told your rep that space was large enough. So we hauled our trailer from our hometown of Watford City, ND to Rapid City, SD only to be told that storage spot is not large enough. I rented a cargo van for the day online. I recommend the online method otherwise you will have to wait in line for 30 minutes. I was waiting in line when unsullied called me about my reservation, told them I'm waiting in line. The desk guy must have heard me and he jumped up to help me. My experience with U-Haul was absolutely Terrible. I reserved, pre identified, pre paid and it took 2+ Hours for me to get a dirty U-Haul. My dolly that I ordered wasn't with the trailer and I still got charged. I contacted the local general manager of this store and never got any sort of response. The trailer handled fine and was suitable for my needs but every interaction involving pickup was pretty bad.Kelly C.

There's an area of opportunity at this location in terms of customer service. I understand that with how busy this area has become that the staff is perpetually fielding multiple customers at a time but a simple acknowledgement of a customer walking through the door and saying "Welcome to U-haul, we'll be with you as soon a possible" goes a long way. Perhaps this location needs an additional employee or two for peak days in the week? The facility is clean and taken care and so is the equipment but a little more in the way of communication and a friendly face and attitude would go a long way to make my review "Excellent" versus just average.Austin S.

The employee we worked with was great, super friendly, and helped us save money by letting us know we got the wrong package. The truck, on the other hand, was absolutely garbage and delayed our arrival. The latch had to be forced to close, and I cut myself on it a few times. The visor hook popped off at one point. The starter died and we had to call roadside to fix it. The trailer's chain was too short to hook properly onto the car, and the wiring was so bad one of the lights only worked for braking and turn signal. The move was stressful enough and honestly I'm not so sure if we'd use UHAUL again for a big move like we did.Reiss H.

I pulled up to drop the trailer off and before I could get out of my truck and go in to the store, an employee was out the door to get me unhooked and the trailer checked in. Always a good location to use. Well stocked, great staff, lots of inventory. Highly recommended.Edward B.

Returning the trailer for my car in the evening I arrived was not a great experience. The person working ignored me and was downright rude. I had to track him down and ask him if he was working there even though I was parked next to a vehicle he was cleanining in the parking lot. He said UHaul needed $20 to help me offload my car due to liability. This was even though my pickup location wanted nothing to help me load it. He said it was due to liability even though I had purchased all the liability insurance UHaul offered. Turning the moving truck in a few days later was a breeze. However, none of the workers were wearing a mask at the SD location.. In addition, the price for the rental of the truck and trailer were twice as much as what Penske charcged. Unfortunately Penske trucks have to be returned in Wyomining.JACI W.

I was unaware that U-Haul would not prorate my month of storage. I’ve been quarantined twice and was able to get my last six boxes out five days into the new month, leaving 25 days unused. I was doing the responsible thing and staying in for the safety of your staff and other customers and now I have to pay for 25 days of unused time. This is absolutely the worst costumer service I have ever seen. I am now paying for something I don’t have access to as I’ve given my key back and you will re-rent and get more money for, essentially double dipping. I have moved with you twice this year alone not to mention at least 10 moves in the last 20 years, it is so frustrating to see that my $72 is worth more to you than a long time loyal customer, not to mention doing the right thing during a global pandemic. I needed storage that would not freeze but didn't necessarily need temp controlled. This was wonderful and so much cleaner than most outside storage units that get dusty and dirty. The physical location and staff were convenient and great. Staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. Unfortunately, the outdoor storage option failed to fit the website's description and our needs. Access was limited to store hours only. U-Haul employees locked and unlocked the gate each morning and night. Tenants did not has afterhours access or the extended our similar to indoor storage.. Our 33 feet of space was limited by storage crates placed between the building and the rented lot space. The outdoor storage setup is definitely more ideal for a passenger vehicle over a RV or trailer. The owner does offer a military discount of 10%, which is nice. Overall, above average experience. So my experience was great in terms of customer service. The facilities are clean. However why in the heck is there a support beam in the middle of the hallway blocking my unit? It definitely was a hindrance. I worried about scratching or ruining my larger belongings. Very inconvenient. And despite everything else being great, this really ruined the experience.
