The "Free" storage unit was not necessarily free, due to the fact that the lock I had from my previous storage unit was not able to be used. Customers must to purchase a specific lock for the storage facility. The sales person wasn't able to explain exactly why my lock was not sufficient, but he was courteous. Aparently, this is the protocol for the use of storage units but I'm unsure if its location specific or franchisewide. For convenience, I paid for a lock to unload the rental and turn-in the vehicle as soon as possible. To say that "the larger a corporation grows, the weaker customer service and quality control" is an understatement. Some ppl take pride in their representation of a company and operate in the interest of both customer and the business by the level of customer service. Although my personal experience OVER-ALL was horrific, I can say there are some cool people working for this company that value customers and assisting them as much as possible, and THAT is greatly appreciated. When corporate wouldn't listen and noted my dissatisfaction with a process as an individual incident stemming from a specific location I was disappointed and frustrated even more. I was cut off frequently, I was told the military has money to spend so trying to monitor the amount spent on transport is pointless because he submitted a plan to save the Air Force money and it was ignored. The manager was helpful and empathetic. I am glad she called because from my experience with this location ( after the storage guy left and the replacement shift took over) &customer service @1800GOUHAUL I didn't think UHAUL was concerned about the people that use their services and that their goal is how much they can get away with, without someone asking questions or without explanation. The manager validated my issue, acknowledged I'm not the only customer who had an experience involving misinformation, apologized ( Although I told her it was okay), apologized for the dismissive posture and behavior of the drop-off location, apologized for the customer service representative, informed me of the equipment checks that should have been made on the Auto transport to ensure customer safety and informed me she would try to find some compensation for my experience which I don't need and will not use, nor do I want a refund, but I felt like a valued customer. I was: -sent email with wrong location -notified by another location of the location associated with my reservation -pick-up location at two separate locations -Tread on tire blown two hours into travel (tires looked okay but noone checked pressure or the trailer I used the email from the lady in the office that didn't know she had the trailer in the lot) - 2hours in the heat waiting for roadside assistance in an area with no signal to use a website posted all over the truck! -being dismissed by drop-off personnel and customer service!Edwin L. | First Impressions

Dealt with two sets of people. First set upon arrival to verify return location were nice. 2nd set, after unloading truck and returning moments later from gas station were dismissive and short. Not of any real assistance. Customer service at corporate were even more frustrating and lightweight rude, wouldn't listen, and ultimately useless. I would NOT recommend UHAUL for ANY MILITARY PCS DITTY move at all! My overall experience with this company ruined the rest of my moving day.EDWIN L.

We accidentally locked our keys in the cab. I'm amazed the location did not have a spare key. I was 3 miles away from the uhaul location and I had to call an expensive locksmith. Things like that happen, it would be better service to simply have a spare key available for these incidents.CATHERINE C.

My only concern is whether the space we rented was really the 8 X 10 X 10 that I am paying for. The queen size mattress and box spring are very tight when laid on their side from front to back. This caused the door to rip the plastic cover and sheet on the mattress. Otherwise, The access was a little confusing due to our inexperience with the facility, however the staff at the U-Haul store were very helpful and explained everything to our satisfaction. The move-in experience was confusing. The facility map sent via text didn't work, so we didn't know where our unit was until we got. There we didnt know which bay to park in or the process to use them right away. I also didnt have a knife or scissors with me to cut the tag off my unit when I got there. However, the facility is very nice, clean, and I feel it is secure. I am very happy with my rental, I just had hoped for more detailed instructions for my first visit.Jama C. | Online Move In

The battery died and we had to wait for over 2 hrs for someone to come fix it. The manager would not call anyone higher up and kept telling us we had to pay for the mileage. He did take the charge of the truck off but we had to pay the mileage. We will NOT be using this location again.Dustin R.

EXCEPT that the Air Conditioning did not work We started in Illinois where it was cold, so A/C wasn't important. But since we finished in Florida, where it was quite warm, A/C became important. So, not having working A/C was irritating.robert D.
I would never use or recommend UHaul. One of my boxes could not open, so I ended up paying overtime for the guys ( who do this on a regular basis, so knew what they were doing) - waiting for UHaul to come get the box open. You rarely can reach anyone via phone call without waiting for close to an hour. Customer service is poor, employees need more training. My boxes have been in storage since I arrive, but recently had them delivered to my new home. That in itself was another fiasco with UHaul here. Mistakes were made. I am trying to figure out how to notify that I have a busted antique rocking chair. Never again would I use UHaul and definitely would not recommend to anyone else. I had been advised to NOT use UHaul and I should have listened. Hard lesson learned.Vanessa T.

Well my biggest issue was the gas gauge on the truck I rented didn't work as needed which. Caused me to fill the truck to full and only required a half tank. Ended up taken it back with a full tank. The lovely customer service supervisor said no refunds where made for that since the gas station got the money for it. Way I see it. Y'all got free gas from me no matter what in a truck I'll never rent again and since that occurred I will no longer use this company and will not recommend anyone to themm bad customer servicedavid S.

Uhaul mistakenly charged me $250 when I went to the store to ask about it Caleb Williams was very rude to me. He told me I was poor. That he has no boss. He refused to help me. Fix your website so people can't double book your trucks. I had to drive 30 minutes out of my way to get the size of truck I needed because the location I made my reservation at didn't have any. Second time using uhaul and it wasn’t any better then the last. They don’t seem very organized. Turned in my card because I was done with the storage unit. And I got a call a week later asking if I was done with the unit. What? Yes! So apparently the person I turned the card into didn’t do their job? Another thing is that things need to be explained more when you guys are renting out this units, trucks or whatever it is. I turned in my truck after hrs and had no clue on how it was suppose to be done. I was just told to drop my keys off in the drop box. Didn’t know I was suppose to go online and take pictures of the truck and everything. I feel that explaining your policies is part of Good customer service. It happened to me the last time I rented I was never told I had a specific time to turn in my truck so I ended up turning it in late. Meaning I had it longer then I should have. Not sure if it’s just the employees not doing their jobs and being lazy or what. Just a little bit of constructive criticism. Also wasn’t a very good look that there was mice poop and a mouse trap in my unit. Luckily none of my stuff was damaged by the mice. The staff was professional but they lacked a great sense of customer service. We tried to ask questions about the potential products of interest or future payments or even tried to start a conversation, the GM seemed so distressed & disturbed.
