DAVID LI was renter a car hauler that one agent said “had some issues”, and another agent said it was fine. 500 miles into a 1500 mile trip, from Georgetown, TX to Fort Hancock, TX, the trailer axel broke, causing the tire blow and to catch fire and nearly wobbling the car carrier all the while carrying my second car. I am extremely disappointed. I was stranded and then my fiancé and I had to drive both cars nearly 50 miles to Las Cruces to get a new car carrier. All the while having to spend a ton of money and tremendous inconvenience. I need a substantial refund on this rental, if not full refund given the original renting agent said there was an issue with the car carrier and another agent said it was fine. Poor professionalism. Poor customer service and put me and my family at great risk and not to mention other drivers on Rt 10 at great risks.

NEGARVIN G | Overall ExperienceI had reserved a furniture dolly and when I got there I was informed that they didn’t have one and haven’t had any for several days. That is very frustrating because had I known that ahead of time, I would have made other arrangements for it. I also had U-Haul labor setup and didn’t have this piece of equipment for them to use as expected. There should be a process for them to inform the customer ahead of time if they will not have a piece of equipment available or they should get one from another U-Haul location so they can meet their obligation to the customer. I also used U-Haul Go and I would have thought that the truck assigned to me would already have the appliance dolly and pads in the truck. I checked in through the app and luckily checked the back. Nothing else associated with the reservation was there so I had to go into the store and ask for the other items on my reservation. I hope this feedback will help you to see the customer’s perspective a little better.

SERGIO CThe vehicle battery did die on us while moving from one house to the next. Had to jump it. It did take us some time and it was a burden to work though. We did get it started and back safely. Was hoping for some time of credit since it took us some time and money/gas to keep the vehicle running to keep the vehicle running and back safely to the Uhaul location. Let me know if you guys can still offer a credit of some sorts. Super grateful for your time and consideration. Thanks!
Marcos EDoors are programmed so that even if you have checked in you still have to swipe a card every single time you want to go through a door from the outside. A bit of a pain when you're trying to concentrate on getting the move in/out done.

PATRICK MExcellent. Just excellent. The lot was a hot mess with summer returns and trailers scattered everywhere. The team here was on top of it and took care of everyone. Our truck was backyard bbq on a 85 degree day all types of awesome. I love seeing a shiny new floor ready for furniture scuff marks, smells like victory. Keep it up.
JACOB WCheck-in and check-out were a breeze! The only thing I would have changed was not having to back up the 26' truck from around the corner of the building:) but overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend.

She showed me what we needed and explained everything clearly. When we returned the AT, it was a really busy time (being the first of the month), but we were taken care of in a timely manner. :)

JOHN LI thought locating the process of locating your vehicle and then getting the key was a little weird and caused you to walk back and forth around the parking lot a lot and was unnecessary. It would have been a lot easier to get your key and then go to the vehicle. I also thought that having equipment that I didn't ask for in the vehicle just took up unnecessary space in my truck. I guess you're trying to get an upsell, but I rented an appliance dolly and a dozen blankets. Having an additional 2-wheel dolly, 4-wheel dolly, and more blankets in the vehicle just took up space that I could have used for items I was moving. Bad practice in my opinion.

ORIS WOvercharged for blankets that we did not order, we’re in the van, and we did not use. Receipt says an undefined code and a charge of $7. DEFINE THE CODES ON RECEIPT and credit the bogus charge.

April H | Overall ExperienceStorage is supposed to be climate controlled however it was hotter in the storage area than it was outside. There were some items that I was unable to put into the storage because of all the heat that was trapped in the building. The move into the storage ended up taking me 1 extra day because the heat in the location is unbearable. I have reached out to the manager of this location to try and come to a settlement. All he did was send me an email apologizing for the inconvenience but hasn't fully taken ownership of the matter. I would like to be refunded for the extra day that I had the trailer. The weather in Round Rock has been in the triple digits. If the AC was not working at that location I should have at least been notified and rebooked to another Uhaul location that wasn't having that issue.
Ricardo C | Online Move InWe reserved a 10x10 unit, however, when I finalized the reservation at your location I was told we would have two 5x10 units. Having two units was no big deal but I told the woman who processed my reservation that I wasn’t sure if I needed both units. I specifically asked if after I loaded everything I only needed one of the two could I cancel the second unit that wasn’t needed. She told me that it would be no problem to remove the unneeded unit from our account. I loaded my items in the unit and found I did only need one of the 5x10 units. I went back to the office and spoke with the same woman who previously helped me and explained that I only needed the one unit. At this point I was told that I had to keep both units. She told me that if I wanted a single unit she would have to move me to a different location. When I told her I literally just finished and that I didn’t want to move her response was “well you can’t take only one of those and either move or keep both.” When I reminded her that she told me I could keep only one if needed she said “I know I told you , I apologize but you can’t. Do you want to move?” So now I’m paying $150/month for a space that costs less than half of that. Your employee knew that those units couldn’t be split but took advantage of me knowing that it is impractical to move all of my stuff it another unit after spending an hour moving in. I will never do business with your location again and I will be sure to let everyone I know in the Austin area what kind of business you run. I hope the extra money you are making from my second unused space is worth the potential loss of revenue and reputation. I will also be sending a letter to uhaul corporate explaining how I was ripped off and posting my expo on my social media channels. I will be sure to tag your location if you have one so there’s no confusion about where people should avoid doing business

It was time to remove our items and place them in our home. It is great to be retired. I highly recommend it. Your facility and staff are excellent and I highly recommend them. There were several size units to chose from and everything was in excellent condition when we emptied it. We were there for nearly 3 years. Thank you for keeping our furniture and other items safe.

Hugo F | Overall ExperienceThere is a HUGE disconnect between website/call center and physical stores and operations. Trying to get correct and complete written confirmation of activity initiated over phone or online was literally impossible. Website would only let me move out one of two units in reservation and wouldn't let me move out the 2nd unit after completing first one. Nearly every time I called or did something online, it was wrong when I got to the actual location and talked to the folks on the ground. Everything is super nice over the phone but actually execution of stuff later at store was a nightmare (fubard) whether it be renting trucks, hiring movers, renting storage, monthly payments online, and move out online. Nothing went smoothly. Local guys at this location were condescending and sexist, being a women doesn't make me incompetent. The storage lockers were great, truck condition is hit or miss, hiring movers through you was a fiasco, online payments are confusing, website seems intuitive but doesn't do what you expect, says I don't owe when I do, can't move out 2 units, freezes up in check out of mover order and send multiple times to mover for which I was liable to pay, luckily the mover called and warned me. When I call, they say everything is handled, that it will be sent in writing but never correct, still get billed late feesonly, get move out confirmation for one unit not two, never got one for the 2nd unit. I NEVER , no matter how much I try to call and confirm, get the piece of mind in writing that's correct.

I rented my unit but canceled before I moved into the unit.
JERRY V | Overall ExperienceI asked to be charged for 24hr access and was told by two staff members that we could have 24 access for three days and come back and pay the extra fee if we still needed it. I agreed and was grateful for the compromise. We continued our move and the access was denied at the normal hours. I didn’t even get it for one night and had to leave our storage unlocked and opened for the night because we couldn’t get back in. When I tried to explain the situation to the morning worker he said “I am not calling you a liar, but we don’t do anything like that.” He said that I would have to come back to the store and talk to whoever told me it would be available. Pretty crappy customer service.

The profane language is not towards the customer but a word or two may be used in a conversation about a situation they are dealing with, or about life in general. The unit was in front of the window in 104 degree weather with no a/c on. There was a wall light by the window that I did not see. I inadvertently leaned up against the light which was blistering hot and it burned the back of my arm. When I told this manager he said he had no idea what light I was talking about and again ignored me. Very poorly run facility indicative of this managers attitude.

I had reserved a 10 x 15 I was told I could have 3 10 x 5s which is not the same. That’s not the surprise you want when you were going to be moving in a week. I think U-Haul could do a better job with the reservations. I tried to complete my reservation online and it would not let me so I had to go into the office location. It all worked out though I was able to get the 10 x 15 but it was not until I was checking out did the attendant notice that there was one 10 x 15 available.

It’s fine if you’ve rented a large truck but the smaller trucks and trailers need to use the narrow ramp to get into the building.

Joel R | Overall ExperienceThere was some confusion about the dimensions of the unit. It was tall when I assumed it was long. The staff was helpful in changing me to a different size that better met our needs. Unfortunately, moving a large piece of furniture into the unit was difficult based on the hallway size and needing to turn several corners. My husband and I were able to manage it, but it was more complicated than imagined. The handcarts would have been very helpful if we had been able to to turn corners with them and the furniture. Again, our issue, but something for others to consider when accepting a unit. We utilized a shoulder dolly system (one we own, but are available for sale in the check-out area) and that was far more helpful.

Having to put up with very long hold time with the call center is a very negative experience and is what I will also tell anyone who asks. All staff needs is for a person to have a portable phone with them. This would enhance the customer experience. I suggest you call your local facility and time how long it takes to speak with someone at that location.
