This particular UBox delivery was 6 days delayed. I have yet to see any reimbursement, as promised by Uhaul, for this inconvenience.

Maybe u-haul was under construction. Service was very poor and front desk very unorganized and not sure what was going on. I had requested for self service to pick up my key and skip the line, however I ended up waiting for an agent as I didn’t not have my supplies available to me and I still needed to get my key from a front desk agent. My pick up time was 9:15am and I ended up finishing by 10:15am when I needed to have everything situated before 10am. I come to the laurelwood location because it is near my storage and very convenient, but moving forward I will not be using this location nor referring any of my friends or family or all together use a different company for all my moving needs.

I was not told I needed to give 24 hours notice to access my U-Box. We rented a van anticipating access and wound up wasting that money. Would have been nice to know this in advance. Also, On one occasion my request to access my U-Box got lost. On future requests, I felt I had to call back even after requesting access to make sure they were really going to give me access.

Original Delivery commit was 7/10. Email received said delivery is 7/16-7/17. After I called and indicated that a 8 day delay would require a $400 credit ($50 per day) per contract. The did rep followed up and next day received email with confirmation of delivery on the 10th. Recommend the on line data is updated accurately.

Deliver when you promised. Not 5 days later. Don't make a customer wait around ALL DAY and not show up until AFTER 7PM. I was unable to find out when the pickup was happening or even if it was happening. Communicate better. Make it possible to get status. Tell customers a delivery window. It is impossible to find out what is going on. You arbitrarily have shifted my "guaranteed" delivery by two days later, too. This has been the WORST experience in service I've gotten ever! I will NEVER use UHaul for anything again, and will tell all my friends!

The Gas tank outlet was lose and not well connected to the hose, and I lost all the gas and wasted about 3 hrs waiting for someone to come and fix it. The cars need a decent check before provided to a customer. I wasted time and money for a short trip

I had several issues/challenges with my U-Haul/Moving Help Order. Santa Clara canceled my contract when my box wasn't picked up without notifying me. In part this was because Moving Help company picked up/dropped off a box from from the wrong/different U-Haul location; however, I still should have been notified of the cancellation. Further U-Haul corporate didn't send me an email or call notifying me of the cancel. When I arrived at my destination and checked on my order, I saw that it was cancelled. Uhaul corporate didn't help me track it down. Instead I called the Santa Clara location, where Virginia (Maria) Martinez at Santa Clara was excellent and incredibly helpful. She dropped everything to figure out what had happened and located my Box at a different/wrong UHaul location nearby. Then she coordinated and worked with that location to get the contract back in order and the box shipped out next day. Seriously, I'm so grateful for her - she was great! There were subsequent issues in which UHaul messed up the delivery side of my order. I don't think in hindsight I would recommend Ubox for others in the future unless they are on a budget and willing to be hawks on the process.

California’s Bay Area locations were unable to be reached except through a call service. Very time consuming and inconvenient. It took 3+hours on the phone a couple times to find a hitch and location and schedule for service. Recommend better call system or directly to each center. Very confusing calling from Colorado to schedule. Much easier here locally in Colorado

My experience with uhaul was so disappointing. When I arrived, I had to beg a customer service rep to let me into my storage unit, although it was only 5:30pm and I had not been advised that there were any closures. Next, the ramp of the truck I rented did not work. It would not pull out. This made it much more difficult to load and unload my belongings. Finally, when I returned the truck using the mobile return feature, uhaul said it was going to charge me over $35 thousand dollars for supposedly having driven over 25 thousand miles. I had the truck in my possession for 2.5 hours. It is humanly impossible to drive the truck even close to that distance in that time. I only drove the truck 3 miles to my home and back. Next, when I called customer service to inquire about this error, I was told that the issue would not be resolved until the next day and that someone would call me in the morning. No one called me in the morning. When I called during my lunchtime, I was put on hold for 40 minutes and had to take time out of my workday to then speak to the representative who also told me the problem would not be resolved until the next day. I had to go in person again to the location to finally resolve my issue. I am deeply disappointed with uhaul’s service and will not be using it again, and advising my friends to stay away as well. Disappointing.

Most employees were friendly, but there were one or two that were really rude. She was working in the morning on Friday, and I came in to update my reservation. After she was done, I tried to confirm the change, then she aggressively said "I DID EVERYTHING! ITS ALL DONE" so I couldn't really confirm my changes. Also, I got a call Thursday afternoon regarding the same reservation, (it might be the same person, but I'm not sure), but the person was rather aggressive. She said that I needed to provide my credit card, which was pretty weird because when I made a reservation at the branch, I was asked for my credit card. I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card information over the phone from a number that I didn't recognize, so I asked a few questions as to why she couldn't just use the credit card I had already provided. Then again she started being pretty aggressive. Aside from those two incidents, everyone was very helpful and friendly.

The rental experience was very nice. I would like to give my Thanks to Adrieene Bell on her outstanding customer service. My return reservation location had been changed from Santa Clara to San Francisco without my consent by someone in the corporate office. Adrieene took the time to make the phone calls necessary to be able to check my rental back in at Santa Clara. I am so happy by her service. I would recommend that the change in return destination be looked at, I was not consulted by anyone at all about the change order, nor would I have been able to accommodate such a change.

Several happens in this oder. In the last order (Contract number 91222592), this trip is fine but the price is higher than the market like 50%. Other places charge $1/mile and here charge $1.59. however, this is fine with me because of I need it in short time. I drive from Sacramento to get this car. For this location, besides the price I am happy with everything else. Here is the things I really angry and that’s why I will never recommend U-Haul to my friends I did not make any appointment and finding a truck to move. Eventually, I order it online and find out the at Wallace has truck for rent on U-Haul’s website and I order it. This order number is 23370017 and location is 8279 Camanche Pkwy Wallace, CA 95254. When I order it, it successfully process my order and that’s what I drove to this position spend almost 2 hour. And when I 10 min away from the location, they called me and tell me there is no truck for rent. There is two things. First, you waste my time, if there is no truck to rent why U-Haul process my order and tell me there is one and made me drive 2 hours to pick up the truck. Second, this is the one why I do not recommend to my friend using U-Haul. If your company can check the phone voice record. You will find that the one picks up the phone told me there is no truck to rent is really disrespectful. She said that “and you should not make an appointment like 30 mins ago”. First, your website processed my order and told me to pick up the truck. That’s why I drove to this location. Second, I understand that I made an appointment in hurry. If you do not have the truck, I will just walk away find something else. But is necessary say that to your customer whose drive 2 hours to your location and because of your system’s fraud makes me feel that is all my fault? And that is the U-Haul’s experience I got. Higher price and rude customer service.

The agent who helped me was very efficient. he was helping lot of customers and the line kept moving because of him. The center doesn’t have enough people z( not at least 3) to help with people and one person had to wait close to 15-20 mins!

Using mobile 24/7 truck service was very complicated and truck didn't seem properly prepared, ended up having to go inside to complete my rental.

The empty U-box was dropped off two hours outside the four hour window provided to me by the driver, due to which I had to reschedule the moving helpers to the next morning. I was told that the U-box can only be picked around 9am the next day, so I had to reschedule the box pick up by one more day so that the helpers could load the box in the morning. As I was going to be on a plane later that evening, I spoke with the driver on the morning of pick up (Friday) and the driver agreed to pick my box the first thing after her drop offs. The driver eventually came for pick-up at 5:30pm (but I was on the plane) and somehow couldn't locate the box left at the apartment community loading area!! The driver then left a voicemail me to locate the box (I was still on the plane). After landing I called the driver and left text msgs, but I got no response and followed up on Saturday and Monday without any response. The box was eventually picked up on Tuesday (4 days after the original pick up date), cascading the delays to transportation and delivery date. Lost 4 days for no fault of mine!! I expected the drivers to follow the time they provided both for delivery and pick up of the U-box. Disappointed.

The staff was VERY accommodating from drop off to pickup. I was moving quickly after 40 years in the same house, so things were crazy with lots of emotions. They were able to be flexible on the pickup of my 3 boxes. I had waaay too many pads, but then that was probably because I gave away most of my actual furniture. They called to let me know when they'd arrive for drop off and pickup. They did GREAT!!

The truck I rented was not well maintained, is borderline unsafe, and should be either removed from service or completely overhauled. There was an exhaust leak that fed into the cab of the truck and we had to keep the window open at slow speeds or stopped to vent the cab. This made us nauseous and gave us headaches on our 2 1/2 hour drive each way.

First of all, my ubox arrived 1 day late. When I tried to schedule delivery and unload service, everyone in the office was so confused. Each time I called the location, they would say something new. Eventually I was able to book my delivery and unload service (and I got confirmation). When my movers showed up at the uhaul facility, uhaul had a wrong date for delivery/unload service. For some reason, they charged me for an additional ubox, which I did not request or use. When I called to resolve the issue, no one was able to find the correct transaction details.

To improve the next guest's experience: Do not change the location of their pickup the day before without compensation on a mileage-dependent reservation. Do not issue a beat up trailer with an illegible license plate that won't fit the car (which we informed them we were hauling). Do not force me to rent a pickup truck to tow if I have a vehicle that is perfectly capable of towing.

Needed more help at this location. When I dropped the truck off .. there were 2 employees with customers. There were another 5 people in line after me.

The irritation of the alarms on the truck casts a pall on the otherwise good condition of the truck. The incessant blaring of these alarms can cause a customer to consider renting from another company next time. Consider limiting these alarms to what is normal for cars and trucks.

My rental was reserved three weeks in advance. They called two days before pick-up to tell me I had to drive somewhere else to pick up the truck then drive to the Santa Clara location to pick up the tow dolly. I said NO, and told them to get the truck delivered on time. When I arrived to pick up the truck and tow dolly the contract issues for some reason took half an hour to straighten out and the truck and tow dolly were not drive-away ready even after the half-hour hassle of completing two contracts. Then, broken tail light on the tow dolly that I had to fix temporarily with tape to keep the right blinker working and the dozen moving pads were not inside the truck.

Mike, Your UHaul facility is the best in the US, seriously. I have had an excellent experience the last six months renting a 10x10 storage unit, and trucks on two occasions. The entire team was helpful. Donna keeps the facilities so clean, something that matters so much to me. So for all of the great service by you and your team, Thank You! Moving out of the South Bay is hard. Having you all be our last impression of what great service is, priceless.

The work was excellent, we waited to be called when work was completed est 1 1/2 hours, no one ever called, called 4 times and ended up speaking central customer service, NEVER got through to the actual store. No one knew, so just showed up three hours after the scheduled completion... Making the reservations was also messed up, we were scheduled for installation on Sunday, the store called and said they do no install on Sundays, thankfully before we left the house. The off site customer service does not know what the actual locations are doing. We use U Haul for propane and will continue. Other services we might if we talk to the location in person, over the phone NOT.

The trailer I rented was covered in a whitish green powder on the inside. I had to sweep it out. There was a strong odor of a gasoline spill that happened prior to my use. I would have asked for a replacement but I was in desperate need of this trailer.

I have great experience with uhaul and am amazed how easy the whole process was. The staff were very helpful to provide the information. And what is truly amazing is when I mentioned I opt out the insurance, there was no persuading of buying insurance and staff suggested taking pictures since we didn't buy any coverage. Will definitely recommend this location.

The air conditioner would work for about 30 seconds and then would not work for 5 to10 minutes. I finally turned it off and rolled down the windows. The truck otherwise was the best (power and low miles - 37K) I have ever rented from UHaul.

The Santa Clara UHaul location is under-staffed and slow. It's impossible to reach someone on the phone. My scheduled UBox access was delayed for hours. Staff was courteous but can't get things done.
