I don't understand why the staff could not check me in when I was there. Instead, I was forced to go through the 8-step mobile check-in process. It's nice to have the mobile option, but not to be forced to do it when it seems like the live staff could do it more quickly.

I had a reservation for 8am and the trailer I rented was not available. They suggested I drive to another location 20 minutes away. We had plans and we were already running behind schedule. We ended up renting a small motorcycle trailer to avoid wasting more time. This was such a huge inconvenience to make a reservation only to find out it's not available.

Everything was great. The only thing I was worried about was there was a clunking sound when I shifted from park to drive and drive to park. Didn't effect me at all though. Overall everything was great.

The online check-in didn't work, even the associate couldn't make it work! They gave me wrong papers/truck at first, had to wait so they change it. Picked up the truck with slightly less than 1/2 tank full, returned it after getting fuel with the gage showing 1/2. They tried to charge me extra for the fuel, after talking to the manager, he agreed not to charge.

I booked and confirmed a truck . Somehow there was a mix-up and i was informed, that there was no truck available at the location i needed, after all. I was moving the next and i was livid. This WONDERFUL woman Wanda listened to me rant without ever interupting me. Afterwards she apologized for the mix-up and told me that she would try to find a truck for me , with my specifications. She said that she would call me back in about ten minutes. Anyhow, without going into every detail, if Wanda was a baseball player, her overall mannerism and efffiiciency were a GRAND SLAM. THANK YOU SO MUCH WANDA.

Well I booked my reservation for the location at this location 2490 Lafayette St Santa Clara, CA 95050 On their website it said they had two options the 9ft cargo van and the 17ft truck so I went ahead and confirm my reservation when I got my confirmation they send me to a different location and when I called to asked why their answer was that they don't have a 17 ft they only have a 15ft So I yhink they need to work on their website it's no the first time it happens to me Last time it happens 3 years ago at that time I took my business somewhere else But if you guys can fix that bug I think I will be easier for both of us the customer and the poor people dealing with angry customers. On the positive my pick up and return was smooth guys behind the counter made it really easy location is huge and clean A+

The wait time to rent equipment was a bit long. There were 4 customers in line ahead of me, and took about 20 min to see a rep. To be fair, the reps were taking time with each customer that had lots of questions, and more reps came to help out. IMHO, I felt like you guys did a good job, but I heard a couple of customers complain about the long wait.

The 26' U-Haul truck was clean and appeared to be well maintained. However, there were a couple issues. A broken spring in the cup holder resulted in a spilled drink, and a terrible vibration ( I suspect a wheel balance issue) made our 400 mile drive uncomfortable. Customer service both on the phone and in person was pleasant and efficient.

Easy location to rent from. Staff was helpful. Laurelwood exit off Montague is a challenge when returning a trailer due to traffic layout.

Uhaul's trucks, location and rates are great. Your reservation and pick up process have room for improvement. I booked a 26' truck, prepaid, did the pre-check a day in advance - to no avail. En route to the pick up, Uhaul texts and calls to say they gave me a 20' at a different location. While they explain why they can't get me a 26', can't discount the 20' or comp me the added miles to pick it up, I'm at the location where there should have been a 26' waiting for me. I call back, have them get me a 15' at the original pick up site. I check my updated reservation on my phone, find the truck that I've been assigned, it's in the pick up area, keys in the door; and climb in. Uhaul employee comes out yelling "Stop! You upgraded your reservation. You have to do ____" My reservation was downgraded, not upgraded. I did not do this. Uhaul did it. Get it straight. The pre-check process was a waste of time. I spent another thirty minutes waiting in line, walking through the mobile app with a cashier, and jumping through hoops that I shouldn't have had to. Recommendation: 1. Get check in kiosks in your rental locations, similar to check in kiosks at the airport. This allows your customers to completed the full process swiftly, in front of your cashiers - no missing steps because they weren't visible on the mobile app unless you knew to scroll down three pages and to the right. 2. Manage your inventory. If you don't have it, don't allow people to reserve it online. Notify customers ASAP if equipment is not available. Do not wait until they are en route to the pick up, have committed their $$$ to Uhaul. I would have gone with Ryder's 16' truck if I'd known Uhaul didn't have any 26'. 3. If you have to do a bait and switch, give customers smaller trucks at other locations, make it up to them. Give them a discount on the truck. Comp them the miles round trip from the original pick up location to the new location. Do not make the customer pay for your mismanagement of resources. 4. Be polite. Yelling at the customer when we're doing what we've been led to expect for the process is bad customer service. There were three other groups in line ahead of me saying the same thing: What the hell is the sense of offering a pre-check system when you still have to go through the same process to pick up the truck? 5. This is not rocket science. Budget's Fastbreak gives the customers the ability to provide all the documentation needed ahead of time, skip the lines, pick up a pre-assigned car or truck which matches what was reserved, have an employee check the drivers license against the rental document, and leave. I've done this repeatedly with Budget and Ryder in less than 5 minutes, yet Uhaul take 30, 40, 90 minutes to get a truck, and it's not what you paid for.
