Furniture pads may not have placed in the cargo area of the truck (see next item). Doors on truck was not not closed properly: *Passenger door rattled so much that I realized it had not been properly closed, and pull over to re-close it less than a mile away. *Back cargo door, which was closed when I left the center, was open when I got home.

Very easy pick up & return with very friendly service both times. The vehicle was almost brand new and was exactly what we needed at a very reasonable price. I would recommend both U-Haul and this facility to anyone who needs either a vehicle or storage as they have reasonable prices on both considering that it is located in the Bay Area.

Rented van on 6/9, returned on 6/11. Billed for 4 days! Customer service representative agreed I'd been overcharged. Going through dispute right now. Will take 3-5 business days to figure out 6/9 to 6/11 is not 4 days. This location is NOT directly accessible by phone. Not good business practice!

The truck was just plain dirty and they made no effort to clean it. Fir 800 mike trip it should be spotless. They also had to add oil to the truck. That would have caused a big problem. They didn’t have time to clean the truck-really......make time. VERY BAD for that kind of money and we were disappointed.

Your website for after hours check in did not work for me. The problem was it would not accept any of the pictures I took of either the fuel gauges or the odometer. I suspect this was because of the sticker placed just under the odometer, but your image recognition software should have handled that. The other problem was without an "acceptable" picture, the site would not allow completion of the check in - which presumes the image recognition will never fail, when for me it failed in all cases. My bill turned out okay, so the preceding was just an annoyance.

Have customer service staff early in the morning that is competent to accomplish the tasks of the various needs of the customer. I needed to pick up my rental van and confirm my storage unit and while the one representative who helped me could knew how to finalize the van rental, she was new and did not know how to finalize the storage unit. The other lady was really unpleasant and did not seem to want to be ther or help anyone in addition to moving at a glacial pace to accomplish any task with no apology made to the 3 people standing in line who had to wait an average of 15 minutes per transaction and told me to come back later to finish the storage unit rental because she didn’t have tome. I protested and said I would like to get it all done now because my fear (which turns out to be founded in fact) was that I would come back and that there would be a line and I’d have the wait another 25 minutes to get helped. I ended up leaving with the truck because the whole pickup had taken about 40 minutes longer that it was supposed to and though my pickup was supposed to be at 7:30, I was still at the location close to 9. When I returned around 10:45 with my van full of items to be stored, I was met with another line of 3 groups and even though when I left without making the final arrangements for the storage unit, I was assured I would be brought to the front of the line on the back end, I was not and waited for another 45 minutes to get help. How do you only have 2 people working, 1 of whom was brand new, early on a Saturday morning? It obviously is a busy time and I think I waited longer for the angry, unengaged representative longer than I had the actual van for! Lastly, when renting my unit, the same rep was compleltely unhelpful when asking basic questions about the unit, like “if I have the 9 foot van and my items fit perfectly into that, what size storage unit should I get?”, or “what is the third dimension of the units, length, width and height?”, and those could not be answered or were met with attitude. Final issue was that the storage unit I reserved online was under construction and not available for another 6 months. That coupled with the fact that the elevator is not functional for another 3 months, meant I had to get a unit that was $25 more a month than I was expecting and though there were other closer units I saw while walking to the back 9 for mine. All in all, had I not been in a crunch to make this move happen, I would have looked for different locations for both the truck and the storage unit. The convenience of having the van rental and storage unit at the same location, though an excellent idea, was so poorly executed and frustrating!

Terrible manager changed my contract to include the safe move insurance when I declined online. He said in order to change it he would have to cancel the transaction and charge my card again and then I would have to wait for yh refund. Terrible customer service

I mentioned to the U-Haul clerk that there were a lot of nails in the yard scattered about and offered him a handful as evidence. The dashboard on my truck is indicating I have low tire pressure on my right front tire. I'm not sure if there's any correlation but I thought you should know.

I was 5 min late. Employees still in office, could not return rental was charged extra day and was told I had to download ap and follow directions to turn in truck. Not only was I charged extra day but also charged twice for hand dolly and mileage. Very disappointed and will not be using this company again.

Not the location related comment, but the process requires way too many steps. You need to minimize it to max 3 steps and no photos. After returning the vehicle I checked the mobile app, which said that the rental is active. I had to drive back to dropp-off location and talk to a person there. At that point the mobile app also recognized, with 10-15 min delay, that vehicle was returned. The process does not provide the receipt for verifying the cost or reimbursement purposes. I did receive a pdf receipt via email, which was zero i.e. no additional cost. However, the real receipt is not available.
