The 10' truck was having an issue with the ignition. I was told about this but when it worked ok for me on the lot, I figured it was ok. The office employees that helped me are super nice and attentive so I have no issues there. Several times throughout the rental period, the key would not turn in the ignition causing many retries and waiting time during an already hectic day - should be fixed immediately and discount would be appreciated since the truck was not properly maintained and for my trouble and frustration.Kimberly M.
I had an issue with pick up, but it wasn't their fault at all. They did everything they could and got me a truck not too long after my original reservation. I did notice after I left that one of the tires was extremely low. Luckily I had a pump and was able to fill it up without someone having to come to my house.Allan K.

They lied about the gas I returned, UHaul charged an extra $75.00 for gas. The truck was return with the same amount of gas from the day i picked up. I have the receipt for the gas station where i put the gas. I called Uhaul customer service they were suppose to call within 48 hours. I have not heard from no one. Very bad service!!!!Suman R.

While the truck performed as intended and clean, the cab is definitely showing its age. I only performed a very small move the took about 3 hours, however, if the move involved a long-distance this truck would have been unacceptable. We were supposed to turn it into Skip's Auto service in Scotia, NY. The we arrived, the place was closed and a sign said they were on vacation. Fortunately, I had stayed at a hotel where the Hamburg Street store was and we went there. We went about 10 miles out of our way to go to both places. I rented a 10' truck as I needed a ramp. After I rented the truck, I discovered that the truck did not come with a ramp. It was not disclosed anywhere that this size truck did not come with a ramp. If I had known, I could of rented a different truck and it would of cost me less on the mileage.John J.

Requan and every other member of the team were fantastic to deal with. Requan was able to facilitate and earlier pick up of a truck than my initial order which allowed me to make my move seemless. He went out of his way to make it happen and I truly appreciate that. I highly recommend this team on Hamburg street and will go back every time. When I went to secure my storage space, he was showing me where the unit was and the door was wide open. When I asked about it he told me it was broken. I had already paid and now find myself looking for alternatives. Over the course of the last three months, I have rented trucks and trailers from U-Haul at least eight times from various locations. Honestly, I didn't have a good experience at some of the locations. Â That said, I cannot bestow enough praise upon ShaTeke Clark at the Hamburg St, Schenectady location. Â He was *always* helpful and *always* took the time to answer any questions and offer information/advice that proved very useful in the moving process.Â Moving can be a stressful time but interactions with ShaTeke were never anything but pleasant.Â His friendly demeanor and positive attitude make him a shining star in the U-Haul team. Â I sincerely hope that U-Haul upper management recognizes this and spotlights him as the exemplary team member that he is.Â Kudos to ShaTeke!GREGORY K.

Had a great experience overall with very nice staff who were helpful where able. I did online check in which I loved. However, I had a hard time finding the truck because the instructions for where the number was were unclear and vague. Adding a photo of where the number is on the truck would be helpful. It took much longer than expected to wait for â€œapprovalâ€ prior to being able to get the keys & head out. For a simple solution, I would say to mention at booking that self check in may take up to 30 min. Or to mention ahead of time any ways that will expedite the process. Overall happy with the experience and would certainly book again with the knowledge above.Emily K.

Customer service was poor. When I picked the truck up, employee mumbled to me. He had his hand up his shirt and I could see the a lot of his underwear. Check engine light was on in truck and employee said it's ok those lights are always on. That's not comforting when driving 400 miles round trip. When dropping off the truck, the employee was not friendly and only thing he said to me was if you are returning, leave the truck where it is with the keys in it. I'm not expecting a big song and dance from employees but some level of professionalism would be nice especially after I paid 460 for the truck. A smile, hi how are you. Something. The Manager and his Staff are EXCELLENT!!! However, Having to move a set of stairs on wheels is unacceptable in todays standards. News Flash: Upgrade your facility and give these wonderful employees a modern facility that they deserve and have earned!!!! This facility is extremely OUT DATED!!!!!!!!! Interaction with the facility went well up until the pandemic hit. Once it hit and we started to get behind, the customer service line would direct me to call the facility to set up payment arrangements. But each time I contacted the facility, I was told payment arrangements were not possible, even during a time when everyone was losing money and unable to fend for themselves. Moving in was a nightmare. The staff informed my older children that they we “high as f***” when they were assisting them because of a lock that had broke. I needed the large unit, and this was the last one. I was told because of the lock they were going to need to move me to a smaller unit. After I called them up they figured out how to get the lock off and I was able to keep the unit. Not after they had charged me for the smaller unit. Now I have two charged on my account for 2 units. I am being told that it will fall off. I wait the three days and it cleared. I have to go in once again to clear this up. Here comes the next month and I am supposedly set up on auto pay. This is in fact not the case. Because when they were playing hop scotch with my unit they also cancelled this. I go in and I am assured it is now set up again and the 45 dollars on charges they said they will waive. Well here comes the next month and guess what is not set up. Oh yes my auto pay. I just moved all of my things out of the storage because I am being inconvenienced in having to go there every time there needs to be a bill paid or I need to resolve the issue of incompetent staff.Christine S. | Overall Experience
