MARK HEverything went smoothly and was super easy
STEVEN SInitial contact with staff was good. Can of the truck smelled like cigarette/dog/cat which was offensive. I asked for an air freshener but they couldn’t offer anything. Just became my problem. Final invoice was way more than I thought AND the tank was not filled. It was below “F” by about 4 gallons because when I returned it FULL, the dial was way over “F”. Disappointing.

ROBBY CI reserved a truck, and then was told when I got there that they didn’t have a truck and had to use a van which made moving hard harder. Then when I return the vehicle after only putting 13 miles on it and putting gas in the vehicle I was charged $17 for 4 gallons of gas when I called and requested a refund. I was told someone would call me back to get it figured out I still have not heard from anybody.

Jenifer RPickup and drop off was easy. My only complaint is that I filled the gas tank back to 3/4 as directed at pickup at the Casey's . I drove from the Casey's to U-Haul, directly next door and across the street from each other. I get there and they charged me for 2 gallons. My suggestion for customers is to take a picture of the gas tank at pickup and another at drop off, date and time stamped.

BRADLY BI used UHaul to store some items in two UBoxes a few months ago. We then used a large truck a month ago to move to Sioux Falls. I made the reservation at least a week in advance and asked for the truck and a car hauler. I was then told a day before the move that the car hauler was not available because it was in another state. Unacceptable. The last two weekends we picked up my UBoxes one at a time to unload them. Last weekend was a total mess. Xavier, who is the general manager, is totally incapable of doing his job. I spoke with a person named David the night before we were to pick up the first box and everything was agreed upon. The next morning I called to make sure that we could pick up the box where we requested and was told no. Then when we came to pick the UBox up at the location that was out of our way, it was not ready. We were told that we were picking up an empty box that was scheduled by Xavier. We were supposed to have the box by noon and were told also that the person who had the box was an hour away. We ended up finally getting my UBox at 3pm. I will never use UHaul again and will certainly not recommend them to anyone.

BRAD SEverything went smoothly at the location. Employees were friendly. Booking online wasn’t as easy as it should be. Too many preloaded add ons trying to make you buy them. You have to really pay attention or it will cost you.
LEROY LI have been trying to get a hold of the store regarding leaving my keys in a truck but each time I call they ask to place me on a hold and never answer the phone. Have been on hold 3 separate times with no answer. Just looking to get my keys back! The rental itself was touchy, multiple times the truck would not start but eventually got it working and returned.

ROBERT BThey scammed me by charging extra money. The truck was only 1/8th full of gas, and they asked me to bring it back with 1/4th of gas or else they would charge me $14. On top of that, they charged me the total miles driven at $1.29 per mile. I don’t understand why I should bring the truck with more gas than what I was provided with, especially when they are already charging me $1.29 per mile driven. I booked 10” Van for 2 hours at $19.95, drove it for 13 miles and my total charge was over $45. Doesn’t make sense to me.

TANNER DService - 1 employee on a Saturday morning. I was 6th in line. That 1 person had to check people in, and then go outside to assist. Location - This location is way too small and congested for all the equipment in the lot. Usually no where to park. Equipment return - My return did not get checked in and I was billed for several additional days.
Michael BI reserved a in town 24 hours 15 foot truck for 3 o’clock. I called earlier in the day and asked if I could pick it up at 2 o’clock instead they said that wouldn’t be a problem. I get there at 10 after two and they tell me that somebody else has that truck reserved at 2 o’clock and that I can’t have it that I have to wait till 3 o’clock. I said if that’s the only 15 ft one you have and this 2:00 guy picks it up, then what truck do I get at 3:00 in a smart ass remarks he said we will have to wait until 3:00 to find out. Very poor customer service, I left that counter and I worked with a different guy and I accepted a smaller 10 ft truck and by the time I had everything done. It was 10 minutes to 3 and that 15 foot truck that I reserved still had not been picked up by the person with the 2:00 reservation, also reserved a two wheeler But low and behold. They did not have any available. Something as basic as a two wheeler was not available. I received the best customer service by the young man that was taking the trucks back when I returned it the next day (20 something Native American) he greeted me , asked if everything was okay with the truck, and if I had any questions. He thanked me and told me to have a good day. He took a lot of the anger away from the experience that I had.
DALLAS DWhen filling out on line reservation I guessed I would need the truck for 6 hours, I could have picked a longer time. Because I had the truck for 6.5 hours I was charged for for 2 rental units doubling the cost. So when filling out the form over estimate your time.

Jennifer LEveryone at U-Haul was so friendly and attentive from the man who checked me in and got me set up with the vehicle to the wonderful woman who checked me out the following day! I was also impressed with the quality of the vehicle itself. I had absolutely no issues at all it worked perfectly! I will use U-Haul again!
KARLA AWe drove a total of 26 miles but were charged for 318 miles. I called 9/30 to get it resolved. Lady was helpful but still have not heard anything from anyone. We were charged almost $400 to use a truck for 4 hrs and only drove the 26 miles. Plus we even returned truck with more gas then what we received it with.

JASON MShowed up at 405 for a 415 reservation, guy at desk barley talked to me, had to run home 5 minutes away to get my debt card, came back at 420 and finished up renting trailer, but instead of helping finish up me after getting paperwork from worker he helped 3 other people instead of coming out to check out the trailer and I was there till about 510 just to rent a 4x7 trailer.
MICHAEL WService rep was busy on his phone the whole time, not focused on his job, did not show up how to hook up trailer or saftey hooking up car to dolley, also he asked where the drop off destination was, i told him and he must not have updated the location and i got charged a wrong destination fee! Never using U-Haul again!
MATTHEW HDropped off after hours. The negative answers do not necessarily reflect bad on the location. I just was not able to see anyone or inside the premises. The location was quite hard to find. Some signage would be nice.

Kristina m | Overall ExperienceThe actual storage Unit I was assigned had stuff inside that I had to move out and part of it was a moldy cardboard box. The storage unit also had a wet floor and I suspect maybe ceiling was leaking because it rained on that day that I was moving in. I moved a bunch of clothes into that storage that I sell so hoping they don't get damaged by rain if the ceiling is truly leaking. Now the storage facility itself had a horrible bathroom smell because the bathroom door was just wide open and quite evidently unkept. It was hard to breath in there honestly. I hadn't already booked it I would've gone somewhere else just because of that smell.

When i arrived, I see what looks like an office with glass windows, I was concerned about going in because there was a man camped out in front of the door who appeared to be on drugs. I left my valuables in the car and quickly proceeded to the office. This address is 201 S.West Ave Sioux Falls 57104. Once inside, There is no one there, no office. Just a Kiosk that tells you, you need to check in online and have renatl insurance paperwork. Clearly too much hassel for a storage unit, but, most alarming was the desolate building with no personnel! I drove to the U Haul right around the corner and explained to Tyler, why I was so upset, He was very kind,understanding and professional. He took care of me by offering me a unit on site, the original address I first called. I appreciate the remedy but think Management needs to inform their employees to disclose the unmanned conditions of the property and to direct woman and the elderly to the manned site if available.
SUSAN L | First ImpressionsWhile most of the staff at this U-Haul location were friendly and helpful, corporate U-Haul is doing them a huge disservice. First of all, the design of the new storage units attached to the main building creates a situation where the entry to my storage unit is blocked with return U-Haul trucks every time I try to access it. Beyond that this U-Haul location is understaffed. So there is no one to help move the trucks out of the way. In addition, I first rented my unit online via the U-Haul website and when I showed up they did not have a unit of my size available. I understand this to be a corporate U-Haul issue and not a local problem. It seems corporate is creating issues and leaving it to the local U-Haul to solve it. I will not be renting from U-Haul again and I would strongly recommend against it to anyone I come into contact with

It was a Very very VERY loooong drive :/ I was offered a one month storage unit free of charge and when I arrived to turn in the trailer and unload our stuff.. I found out there was only an upstairs unit available at the drop off location I had picked 😳😳😱 ...I was totally overwhelmed at the thought of hauling everything we own up the stairs on my own and already exhausted from the long drive with wild kids 😩🥴 the lady that was helping us went out of her way to arrange a unit at a different location to accommodate and I am beyond grateful!! I almost cried the happy tears!!! Grateful, impressed, and sooo relived <3 I missed this kind of interaction that comes with living in the Midwest and it was a really great first experience with being back home. Thank you!!!
Chelsey F | First ImpressionsI had a ton of interactions with the staff at this location and only had two good experiences. The worst was when I had previously had a late payment. There was a UHaul lock on my storage unit, which I fully understand, but it wasn't taken off even weeks after I caught up the payment. An employee came up with me, told me he would go look for the key, and left me sitting there without returning for over a half hour. I left, and when I returned a couple of weeks after that, the lock was still there despite payments being all caught up. I was so relieved to get my things out of the storage unit and never deal with this location again.

I would not recommend uhaul to anyone and will be sure to never use your storagebservices going forward.
