The staff were too busy to check in the trailer that I rented. I had to hope that I wasn't charged for an extra day of rental. I returned the trailer on Tuesday and didn't get my email receipt until Friday. On the CDC email, I couldn't enlarge the receipt to read it. You can do betterAl T.
The woman that rented this moving truck to me really assumed I knew it was due back by Friday at 9am. Had that been mentioned to me I automatically would have said there would not be any way to have the truck unloaded and returned. This caused a domino effect that put another renter in a bind since they needed this van in Custer, SD. How to improve, train all employees to cover when the truck is due to be returned and what the costs are if it is late. Then ask a follow up question, â€œwhat would be the very latest you could return the truck?â€.QUINTIN D.

My experience with my recent U-Haul rental was great. The staff at the 923 W 11th St Sioux Falls SD 57104, were all knowledgeable, friendly and displayed excellent customer service. They were so kind and considerate during the whole process. Moving is stressful and emotional. I had to go into store to get the key and when I went into store I had to wait for another customer in front of me to get his rental and it took forever to get my key. Truck share should be faster had the key been in a lock box I would have gotten it sooner and been able to skip the line as the customer was in the line I needed to be in and the other employees were not in the store to help me they were putting vehicles away and checking them over.Alanna W.

The pick up location was changed from my original request, which put me behind schedule. Instead of a short time at the pick up location, we spent over an hour completing the check out and waiting in line to pick up the keys. The 40 minute wait in line occurred despite the 'skip the line' noted in the online check in and on signage in the store. I was disappointed that this transaction, advertised as not requiring a customer service representative at the pick up point, wasted so much of my time. The online check in process needs to be improved. To their credit, the staff at this location were all working very hard and maintained a pleasant attitude in spite of the overwhelming number of customers they had to help. The person who helped me (I failed to get her name) did a very good job.Chad K.

The Sioux Falls 10th street location is where my reservation was initially at, but that location didn't actually have the truck I had reserved through them and actually just canceled my reservation without notifying me. After I had to wait for half an hour, and didn't get a call back (still never got a call back) from the 10th st location, I called customer service. I called customer service as I was pulling up to the 11th street location, customer service reserved an available truck, and the rep I worked with at the 11th st location was apologetic and gave me a discount because of my difficulties, and had the truck ready right away for me. I will only ever reserve at this location if I have the need to rent a truck from here on out. Uhaul really needs to make sure each location is more updated with their inventory and more responsive though. There was another man trying to return his truck at the 10th st location, and he had been trying for 45 minutes just to return his truck, not getting an answer and no one meeting him there. Hire more than one employee when you have a full day of rentals. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to pick up a trailer that I was pre-checked in for. ONE person to do everything and there were 6 people in front of me at opening 9 am Sunday the 18th. Appalling! Never recommend.Martin K.

Clean/wipe off the dashboard and the cupholders. It will help with limiting Covid-19 spread out too. They were sticky from soda drinks spills. For my one and only order i got to speak in person with 4 people. So far I can tell that overall the employees were polite and respectful but not punctual and overlooked my order request. That lead to not having the right size truck at the right day and time. I requested 15' truck for 24 h. Since I have moved my reservation to an earlier day I stopped by 3 days in advance and talked in person to have peace of mind and to organize my move smoothly for that chosen day. I was assured my truck will be available but I may have to pick it up from different location in the city limits (not from.11 th str). They promised i will get a phone call in the next days from where to pick up my truck at 8 am in the morning. I did not received a phone call till the day prior renting the truck so u went there again in person and I was told that everything is fine a d they will have the requested truck size available for me from the same location on 11 str. so I don't have e to go anywhere else. At 8 am next day July 16th I went to pick up the truck and I was told that such truck is indeed there waiting for me but for 6 hours only. I was about to move 6 hours away round trip almost 400 miles in total and I would have never requested such a small time frame (loading and unloading in best case scenario would have added 2 more hours, so I was very stressed out and disappointed my reservation duration turned to be reduced 4 times . The lady behind the counter was understanding yet little condescending of my reactions of despair. She motherly "honeyed" me to deescalate my growing panick and offered 17' truck instead for the same money that I can use for 23 h. I didn't not needed that big size of a truck in which my furniture will be like 5 beans rollomg in a deep pot, nor wanted to pay more for gas but I was left without options. The initial estimated expenses were approved for reimbursement but now they exceed the actual spending and I am ending up paying more. So, I will not rely in future on the employees taking my order and will triple check what the are entering into their computer system; also, I will be looking for other predictable and more reliable means of transportation. What i like about the service is how convenient is to return the truck after hours.LILIA M.

I had a ton of interactions with the staff at this location and only had two good experiences. The worst was when I had previously had a late payment. There was a UHaul lock on my storage unit, which I fully understand, but it wasn't taken off even weeks after I caught up the payment. An employee came up with me, told me he would go look for the key, and left me sitting there without returning for over a half hour. I left, and when I returned a couple of weeks after that, the lock was still there despite payments being all caught up. I was so relieved to get my things out of the storage unit and never deal with this location again.mikayla n. | Overall Experience
I'm not certain 'yes' or 'no' are sufficient choices for the condition of the location, the personnel 'attitude' or a recommendation to a friend. The location is adequate (but extremely 'cluttered - inside and out'; the help is 'indifferent (at best)' - but, I got the truck returned (I think). Staff was very friendly and efficient...there just weren't enough of them! I reserved a 20 ft a month early, ended up with a 26 ft because they didn't have a 20 ft available. I would have thought a 30 day reservation would have allowed the truck I asked for. I HIGHLY recommend buying their boxes! It makes it sooo much easier to pack them in if they are all the same size! I felt the extra supplies offered were a reasonable price.Morgan B.

Had to wait in line to finish the reservation I started through the app. I assumed I could go through the whole process without standing in line. I was very happy with my service at this location! My truck was ready and full of gas when I arrived to pick it up and they discounted me for not informing me that my dolly did not include a strap! I do think the mileage cost is too high but overall I was very satisfied!LINDA K.
Completely unprofessional and wrong that someone pays for 30 days with no other option and moves out early, maybe due to a change in circumstance and they don't get reimbursed for any of the amount they were required to pay but didnt use. My initial phone conversations were very helpful but when I got confirmations on everyting the size of my unit was wrong. I called 2X and when I got there it was still not correct. Your employee on site (Tyler?) was excellant to work with.
