Malachi was very helpful with checking in our return. We had to wait for about 15 minutes because of a customer ahead of us; Malachi got it sorted and we were able to complete our drop-off. I am rather upset that the bulkhead/area over the cab leaked significantly and the boxes up there were wet. Malachi confirmed there was standing water pooled on the floor of this area when we returned the truck. He advised me to speak with the manager about the issue. M. Laura K.
JEFFREY FThe individuals who helped us were professional and very helpful but it would have been nice if there were more staff available to speed service but if having a skeleton crew is how you keep prices low, I am glad to wait. Great vehicle, great service, affordable rate! We love UHaul!

CRAIG UI’ve used U-Haul several times in the past, but this was by far my worst experience. The system was down, which I understand is not the staff’s fault. While the staff was friendly, they were also very unprofessional. When I finally got to the truck, it was extremely dusty—so much so that I thought there were cigarette ashes all over the dashboard, radio, and interior. It may have been dust or actual ashes, but either way, the condition of the truck was unacceptable.

Clint BThe employee didn't explain the insurance to us. Just asked if we wanted their insurance or use our own insurance. Never mentioned that our insurance would probably not cover if something went wrong. Gave us a run around. One told us we had to reverse charges if we wanted to purchase uhaul insurance. Had to go get the uhaul that we had already loaded and take it back to uhaul place so they could take a picture of odometer to fi d out they didn't even need to reverse charges after telling us they needed to to be able to purchase uhaul insurance. The 15' truck was filthy. Had food in glove box and dig hair all over. They said they would call us when truck was there never called. There is a lot more stuff but wont burden you because we won't get nothing out of it antwayd. I will never recommend this location to anyone! Paid lots of money and got treated like crap!
HAROLD CWe walked in without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us with what we needed quickly and easily. The whole registration and rental agreement took less than 10 minutes and we were in the truck driving already. It was all great accept for the billing related to mileage and fuel charges. I went 14 miles returned it with the fuel meter in the same spot as when I picked it up and paid for an estimated 20 miles of usage. We didn't get reimbursed for the 6 miles under the 20 we guestimated and were billed 9$ for 2 gallons of gas... I highly doubt that the brand new van was only getting 7 miles per gallon justifying the additional charges. I also feel like we should have been credited for a the overage we paid upfront for the he miles we didn't use. I didn't realize at the time of return because my wife took the keys in when we dropped it off.

John MDrop off process. Where you have to park when returning vehicle is congested with other rentals going out. Turning in rental took longer than picking up. The picking up rental was very quick.

Alyssa BExcellent customer service with the young man working the counter, he went out of his way to help me understand the hook up of the trailer, and the safety of the trailer. Darn it, I can't remember his name, but we joked together about his CROCS shoes and my recommendation to wear boots when moving trailers around the lot.

RUTH BThis location was fine, but my experience with U-Haul was anything but fine. I was called and texted by U-Haul the night before my reservation and told to go to a different pickup location. When I arrived at the location it was a sketchy facility in the middle of nowhere with no markings. I tripled checked that I was at the correct address from the text and email and I received from U-Haul and tried the door. It was unlocked so I entered some kind of storage unit with no windows. As the door shut behind me I got scared that I might be locked in, but I proceeded across to the only other door in the place, which was also unlocked. I knocked and pushed it open to find a man sitting in an empty room on a folding chair and wondering what the hell I was doing there. He said he was not a U-Haul place but that someone had parked a U-Haul in front of his door an hour before and he'd chased them off. Luckily, I was able to get out of there and back to my car and call the phone number that was in the email from U-Haul. The person told me that I'd been sent to a wrong address (no shit), but that I shouldn't come to his place because he didn't actually have a truck for me, despite the fact that I'd reserved one a week ago and a U-Haul rep had called me the night before to confirm. Mind you, I have just driven 3.5 hours from home to pick up this U-Haul to drive a large piece of furniture home. Anyway he gave me a number to call to see if someone could find me a truck. I called the number he gave me and it was a senior living facility. Finally I called 1-800-GO-UHAUL and reported what was happening. I spoke with a Debra who was very nice and helpful. She said she would give me a discount for the inconvenience and transferred me to the number the first guy gave me (except one digit different). A third person answered the phone and put me on hold for a long time and then hung up on me. Now I am two hours late for my appointment to pick up the furniture and I'm still in the middle of nowhere and starting to panic. I called the number again and talked to a fourth person who gave me a third address to go to to get a truck. He promised me there would be a truck at this location, so I put the address in the GPS and started to drive. Five minutes later my phone rang and a 5th U-Haul person told me that there was no truck for me at the address I was headed for and gave me a fourth address to go to (923 W 11th St, Sioux Falls). At this point I was nearing nervous collapse, but I updated my GPS and headed for this fourth location. Much to my surprise when I arrived it actually was a U-Haul facility and there were actually trucks parked outside. The person there was very nice, but even though I had reserved a 15' truck all he had was a 26' truck, which was scary to drive and probably cost me a lot more in gas. I'm not sure what kind of discount I was given because I still paid over $400 which is what I had expected to pay for a 15' truck when I started this whole fiasco. Anyway, I did finally make it home three hours later than I had planned without further problems. This was a terrifying nightmare ordeal for a single woman to go through 200 miles from home and I'm very upset by the whole thing. I would really hope that U-Haul could compensate me for putting me through this ordeal by giving me at least a partial refund. It feels really terrible to be put through something like this and then have to pay the people who did this to me $430!
RONICA RAt the counter on a Saturday morning at eight, when I went to pick up my truck, several other people were just mourning and growing about having to be there. There was a long line growing. The gentleman in front of me started to be help and the guy just walked away and didn’t say why Overall I feel the people working at this location are very unprofessional and should not be voicing comments out loud about being tired, not liking their jobs things of that nature.

RICHARD WU-haul clerk gave me the wrong 26ft truck, couldnt correct in their system... It only had 42k but several warning indicators on, cruise control and radio not working, making it not so much fun on a 1,500 mile trip.
RODNEY NI was a first renter from uhaul. I would recommend to everyone to use the Uhaul APP as much as possible. this will speed the process up. I just so happen to be behind another customer who was in a hurry and very rude. He was talking over the customer that was in front of him. The location was short staffed as they had a couple of employees leave early. The person that helped me handled the situation very well. GOD BLESS HIM. I would recommend to everyone to use the Uhaul APP as much as possible. this will speed the process up.

SHEILA KPlease make sure returns are logged properly. Mine wasn't entered into the system as "returned" until one day after my actual return. And somehow my 2-day rental was charged as a 4-day rental.

Ryan BThis has been probably one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. The drop off in the 24th was over 3 hours late with no contact from scheduling. The pick up on the 30th was 4 hours late, again with no contact. The pick up of the containers on the 8th never showed up and I was lied to multiple times by the staff, including Gunner at my 5p call saying he could see they were just down the street on their 'tracking' system. I will make sure to let everyone i know that is moving anything to go with any company other than Uhaul

MINTESINOT TGood location, kind of I'm a bad part of town but it was a pleasant experience. Only thing I could say was I wish uhaul would upgrade to trailers with actual trailer brakes on them, would be alot nicer to haul the 6x12 if it had them.

Kristina m | Overall ExperienceThe actual storage Unit I was assigned had stuff inside that I had to move out and part of it was a moldy cardboard box. The storage unit also had a wet floor and I suspect maybe ceiling was leaking because it rained on that day that I was moving in. I moved a bunch of clothes into that storage that I sell so hoping they don't get damaged by rain if the ceiling is truly leaking. Now the storage facility itself had a horrible bathroom smell because the bathroom door was just wide open and quite evidently unkept. It was hard to breath in there honestly. I hadn't already booked it I would've gone somewhere else just because of that smell.

When i arrived, I see what looks like an office with glass windows, I was concerned about going in because there was a man camped out in front of the door who appeared to be on drugs. I left my valuables in the car and quickly proceeded to the office. This address is 201 S.West Ave Sioux Falls 57104. Once inside, There is no one there, no office. Just a Kiosk that tells you, you need to check in online and have renatl insurance paperwork. Clearly too much hassel for a storage unit, but, most alarming was the desolate building with no personnel! I drove to the U Haul right around the corner and explained to Tyler, why I was so upset, He was very kind,understanding and professional. He took care of me by offering me a unit on site, the original address I first called. I appreciate the remedy but think Management needs to inform their employees to disclose the unmanned conditions of the property and to direct woman and the elderly to the manned site if available.

First of all, the design of the new storage units attached to the main building creates a situation where the entry to my storage unit is blocked with return U-Haul trucks every time I try to access it. Beyond that this U-Haul location is understaffed. So there is no one to help move the trucks out of the way. In addition, I first rented my unit online via the U-Haul website and when I showed up they did not have a unit of my size available. I understand this to be a corporate U-Haul issue and not a local problem. It seems corporate is creating issues and leaving it to the local U-Haul to solve it. I will not be renting from U-Haul again and I would strongly recommend against it to anyone I come into contact with

It was a Very very VERY loooong drive :/ I was offered a one month storage unit free of charge and when I arrived to turn in the trailer and unload our stuff.. I found out there was only an upstairs unit available at the drop off location I had picked 😳😳😱 ...I was totally overwhelmed at the thought of hauling everything we own up the stairs on my own and already exhausted from the long drive with wild kids 😩🥴 the lady that was helping us went out of her way to arrange a unit at a different location to accommodate and I am beyond grateful!! I almost cried the happy tears!!! Grateful, impressed, and sooo relived <3 I missed this kind of interaction that comes with living in the Midwest and it was a really great first experience with being back home. Thank you!!!
Chelsey F | First ImpressionsI had a ton of interactions with the staff at this location and only had two good experiences. The worst was when I had previously had a late payment. There was a UHaul lock on my storage unit, which I fully understand, but it wasn't taken off even weeks after I caught up the payment. An employee came up with me, told me he would go look for the key, and left me sitting there without returning for over a half hour. I left, and when I returned a couple of weeks after that, the lock was still there despite payments being all caught up. I was so relieved to get my things out of the storage unit and never deal with this location again.

I would not recommend uhaul to anyone and will be sure to never use your storagebservices going forward.
