Box did not ship to agreed upon location at either location. Realized by the end of process, moving company would have been less expensive and much more convenient for our move. A lot of confusion with people we dealt with vs. Website in general. Box was delivered without notification of its arrival. Went outside, box setting in parking lot. The storage units are great and with the high ceiling one can store a lot of stuff in each unit! But, the old flooring has been left in the corridors, which can be extremely bumpy sometimes, and if the load on the dollies is unbalanced at all, items will fall off. Minor inconvenience for me, for others who would be storing valuables, a much bigger concern.Christopher L. | First Impressions

I rented a 4x8 cargo trailer last year. I went one way 600 miles. The cost was $129. One year later that same cargo trailer is $499 to rent - the SAME route! I ended up renting a 15' truck at $1216!!! Sorry but this is GOUGING! My hands were tied and because there were no other options, I was forced to spend the $1216 on the rental. I will not recommend Uhaul to anyone.Tammie C.

The UHaul truck we rented was clean, had good tires, but I'm not a mechanic so I can't say if it was well maintained. My pick up experience was not fantastic. The truck was pulled up front and no instructions were given about the vehicle, nor was it suggested that I look over the vehicle for any damages. Normally I would have done that, but there was an issue with the trailer's tail lights and no mechanic on site to fix itâ€¦..I was very distracted about that as I was taking the vehicle and trailer through Canada. The trailer light issue was solved by my friend, so we were able to leave on schedule.ellen O.

It was beyond difficult trying to find the main door where the service personnel were located and when I walked into the garage I was greeted with "what!?" Not how can I help u not anything remotely customer service based and when talking to the employee about the different sizes and costs he was very confused and unsure of anything, it just was a very difficult situation and experience with very little in the form of assistance or help to be guided in the right direction.James S. | First Impressions

I got a car hauler, it had a bad bearing and cost me a day, then I got charged for an extra day!! I had to pay for the privilege of sitting on the side of the highway half a day less than a mile from where we picked up the trailer!!John L.
We had to insist on getting the van that we reserved, because they were trying to get us to just take a 15' truck, and the person checking us out wasn't very patient about my insistence that I needed a van. Then after saying we would wait while they figured out if they had a van that would be available soon, it turned out that they had a van, it just hasn't been checked into the system.Julia H.

Great people, trailer brakes didn't work very well if at all. Second trailer I've rented from uhaul with brake issues. Trailer lights (running) only worked for about 12 hours, after that nothing.Kevin V.

The Fairbanks store is really hard to deal with. Only one person there seems to know hows things work and if they are unavailable you have to wait. I ordered two u-boxes and only needs one. They refunded the box and not the extra insurance and when we noticed we would have had to file a claim thing to get the money back. We also updated the payment card information at the facility but they didn't update the card information everywhere so the rent payment was bounced and I had to call customer service to update the card and request the late fee be dropped. The person on the phone for the national phone line was very helpful. The Fairbanks location is lucky it is the only one without competition so it doesn't have to try to provide any customer service.Pamela M.

This rental was a nightmare. All of the staff seemed new and did not take responsibility for anything. Within 24 hours of picking up the vehicle the low oil light came on. I turned around which added 100 miles onto my trip. When I picked my vehicle up, I asked about a spare tire. There was no kit for lowering the spare tire, I explained I was going to remote Alaska...Long story short, is I got a flat in an area that doesn't have service, 12 hours from the closest Uhaul. Luckily I was able to get help from a remote camp which cost me $200 out of pocket and added 3 days onto my trip. The lack of preparation, understanding, and training was ridiculous.Margaret K.

The service from the lady was awesome, she was professional and nice but the person named Preston made me walk in the cold holding moving boxes to find the vehicle that was mine. He gave me the keys and said that it should be In front of the building. I checked, the letters and numbers didn’t match, so I walked and checked every single vehicle and still could find it. Finally I went in and the nice lady gladly walked me to the vehicle that was mine. Also every other uhaul place that I have been to have brought out the vehicle to me. I think he needs training on customer service due to his attitude towards me, and knowing where a vehicle is. Maybe have a better solution for renting units that have an alarm issue like flag them or have a sticky note as a reminder. If they are the last units available then at least give a girl the heads up that the alarm will be triggered. When my wife and I moved up from Las Vegas for our new assignment at eielson afb we had put in a reservation for a 10x20 storage locker. That reservation was not honored and we had to jump through hoops in an attempt to find a location to unload a 26' truck. After securing two 10x10 lockers we moved out of one and informed the front desk twice it had been cleared. When we returned a week later to empty the second, the first locker was still open and had never been removed from our profile. The only issue I have with the facility is the hike from the loading area to the rear corner. Having another set of doors would have made our move so much easier, it seemed close to 100 yards each way when we were toting our household belongings.Joshua K. | Overall Experience
