The fuel was not on â€œfullâ€ when I picked it up, however I filled it up before I returned it and was told there is no credit for putting in more gas than I used. Very disappointed. (I even took a photo of the gas gauge before I left after picking it up).SHAWN H.

The guy who checked me out was rude, the vehicle wasn't clean, the blinker didn't work, and needed an oil change when I picked it up. I was charged $100 for cleaning before he even looked at the vehicle. I said the sticker says $25. He said no you used it for hunting I don't the rules. Don't have a sticker that says $25 if it isn't $25. The vehicle wasn't that dirty. A small blood stain on a rubber mat and some mud on the outsideRandy C.
Have better entry into the complex than only 1 bay for trucks. Three entry points for cars and Pickup trucks, but only one for uhaul equipment for entry into the storage area. A four hour unloading that should have only taken an hour.WAYLEN B.

Awesome experience overall. Quick reservation online, quick and easy check in, van ran smoothly, very easy check-in. Only complaint is it is very hard to figure out the key â€” first that it pops out of the key fob, and second that the steering wheel needs to be locked before the key will go in the ignition. Also, there was a warning that popped up about brake pads needing to be changed, but I figured they would not rent me a van with faulty brakes and brakes worked as I was leaving the lot.Kristen P.

Get them better CSR and tracking software so they can answer very basic questions like "Where is my box?" and "If you can't track it, how are you going to find it if it gets lost?" The woman who works there doesnt understand the very systems she is using. I asked many times if the money i paid for deposit, over the cost of the rental, so 81ish of 100 i put down, so 19, would be ported over towards the total cost. She said no it was part of the deposit. I reframed my question multiple times. Everytime ahe said "No it is part of your deposit. It clearly shows on the receipt of what i say to be true. This is all after a male at said location said the gas wasnt atbthe point i took it for which i was and yet again i was charged for that. It was an atrocious experience and i will never use uhaul at the location on Airportway at Fairbanks, AK. To add the condition of the vehicke as i was driving revraled it is probably not maintained really at all.MACKENZIE R.

The inside of the truck was filthy.There were cigarette ashes on the drivers side door near the window. there were several beverage spill runs on the jump seat, every cup holder bottom had dried sticky residue on the bottom, the center dash had about a teaspoon of what looked like tobacco in it. The 24 /7 check in takes a while and make sure that you have all of the information that they want, like drivers license, passport, credit card and you need to have a phone number of a person they can call to confirm that it is really you. I think this location is awesome. The collage st location is terrible. We called to confirm that we could get the unit there. That morning we showed up and they said it was not there. Total waste of time. The loser should of told us that am so t was not going to be there on 8/7GARY B.

Front left tire was worn to the wire core on the inside edge, so was missed on my inspection. Unit was missing trailer light system fuses, and I tore my wiring apart on my trailer and boght unneccessary wiring and light kits not needed, because the problem was missing fuses in the truck. I had to put new fuses in, and changed left front tire with left rear tire. Rear tire moved to front showed no uneaven wear after moved to the front, so tire that was on the front had to be worn before we left.DONALD C.

When my wife and I moved up from Las Vegas for our new assignment at eielson afb we had put in a reservation for a 10x20 storage locker. That reservation was not honored and we had to jump through hoops in an attempt to find a location to unload a 26' truck. After securing two 10x10 lockers we moved out of one and informed the front desk twice it had been cleared. When we returned a week later to empty the second, the first locker was still open and had never been removed from our profile. The only issue I have with the facility is the hike from the loading area to the rear corner. Having another set of doors would have made our move so much easier, it seemed close to 100 yards each way when we were toting our household belongings.Joshua K. | Overall Experience

Fuel level was not correctly noted on contract, customer was charged for fuel and should not have been. Photo evidence of the fuel level and milage at beginning of rental is available.MICHAEL R.
We will never rent from this location ever again. The agent there prepared our rental agreement in a manner we felt was inaccurate. We went right back and asked that the agreement be change to reflect the correct one week rental rate and the correct 39 cent per mile mileage charge for all miles in excess of 750 miles which come with a weekly rental. The representative there, Shannon, refused to correct the agreement, insisting that it would automatically adjust "in the computer" when I returned the vehicle. The agreement that they refused to correct said we had a base rate plus 79 cents per mile. Nothing referred to the weekly rate and excess mileage charge that was confirmed by the 800# when I made the reservation. I had all that confirming paperwork at home. But not with me at pick up. I thought I was only going to need the rental for 5 days. But I ended up needing it 6 days for the project. I tried to call their local number and it rolled over to the 800#. After waiting about 30 mins on hold, the 800# cut me off. Over the course of the next 24hrs, I believe I called back 3 additional times. Each time I was cut off. When I started the 4th call, I told the rep right out that if they cut me off again, I was just going to keep the truck another day. On the day and time it was due, I started getting harrassing phone calls about returning the truck immediately. I told them that wasn't going to happen. They insisted that they needed the truck back to rent, which in our observation and opinion was a bald face lie. When we got the truck back to them only 3 hrs late, they had two additional trucks sitting in the lot with promotional signage on them. They appeared to be unrented and ready to rent. This is when the real "kicker" came about. I was off renting another truck from another dealer and my wife returned the original truck. They socked her with a $120 "late fee." From what we could glean, U-Haul doesn't have a "late fee," as they put the charge under "cleaning fee." When I saw the paperwork later, I blew a gasket. I HAD A WEEKLY RENTAL, that is, 7 days were paid. How could I pay a "late fee?" While I may gain consideration and/or a refund of the $120 from an upper level manager at U-Haul of Alaska, I feel that this was a "set up" in an blatant attempt to exact an illegitimate charge from us. Other U-Haul locations in Fairbanks seem quite reputable. But I will never consider ever renting from the Airport Way location ever again.JOSEPH A.

Not adequately staffed. And then they put a circular lock on one of my units without informing me and they had not told me a circular lock was required. It caused nearly a 2-hour delay on moving day since the key they gave us did not work and there was no one available to drill the lock. My moving helpers were very unhappy. The UHaul broke down on the Highway and my one year old and I were stranded. I called immediately, and was told to call back in the morning. When I did that, I was told it would take 3 hours to have a tech come out and then they'd let me know if I could have a new truck. I ended up moving my furniture with friends' trucks. Rude employees, not very helpful. Even after your rude employee Shannon I was done with my storage unit, you guys still tried billing me for July. This Preston so called manager never reached out to me. Shannon was rude and condescending throughout this whole experience. You seriously need better customer service employees or extensive training so they know how to BE NICE to the customers. The college road uhaul treats its customers way much better. The only reason I used this one, it was closer to my home. Never again will I use this one... Such a disappointment... There was no one at the front desk either time I walked in. The first time, another man and I waited 5-minutes for someone to show up and the second time, I waited nearly 10-minutes. When I went to check the truck back in, the man at the desk argued with me about the fuel amount and said he was going to charge me for fuel that I didn't use; I had to show photos as proof to get him to begrudgingly drop it. He also overcharged me for five miles (I drove from mile 103 to 125, but he said I drove from 102 to 129) and wouldn't change it. Answer the phone - with a person. Provide telephone number that rings at the location. Speed up the process. Design trucks with mirrors that can be adjusted. Clean the trucks. It was a LOT easier 35 years ago when I last rented from UHaul.Richard T.

But in this location gave me the wrong key first, the second gave me used truck, dirty, 1/4 gas used and took me 79 dollars for the same gas went turn back. Last time for me use this location. We were assessed a cleaning fee that was wicked aggressive. We returned the van in the exact condition we retrieved it. Minor, MINOR spots of sand/dirt but NO trash/litter/debris. I phoned the location to discuss and was told a manager would return my call. No response. I just did a live chat and was told the same thing - I suppose we'll see. When I used the Uhaul off of college road, they were always very nice and helpful. I even got discounts for buying moving boxes. Shannon was adamant about not giving any deals/discounts. I even asked if there was any discounts for healthcare workers, she very quickly said NO. I was like oh ok.. I would rather have had the gentleman that was working, at least he apologized for having to go help a customer outside. I told him it was fine because I was still looking at boxes. I even asked her if there was any discounts for short term, because we only needed it for two weeks until the place we're moving into is ready. Shannon's very stand offish and said "No we don't pro rate" and left it at that. I was like dang, can she be any ruder! She needs better customer service skills and maybe U haul customer service is not her thing. She's going to end up helping you lose customers rather than gain them. OH, when I mentioned the college road u haul gave discounts, her rude answer was they were probably not following guidelines, I'm like really?! How would she know that. She was just not helpful at all. FYI: Your bathroom was very dirty. I asked to use the bathroom, she was like ok and walked away. My experience was very inconvenient at every corner. During the move in, my reservation was to a different Uhaul location that was managed by this office. The access gate wasn't working so I was forced to relocate to this location. I reserved an outside unit, which wasn't available so I was forced to get an inside unit at a much more expensive rate. There's typically only 1 worker ever to be found, multiple times we were waiting for 30 plus minutes to even talk to someone.
