Reservation was made at a different location for a 4x8 trailer (confirmed). I was then told 4x8 was not available the day before pickup and that they would upgrade me to a 5x8 for the 4x8 cost. Picked up trial took home and left back door cable was off track, had to take it back for exchange. When I got there, sorry out of luck no trailers were available for exchange. Waiting to see if they will provide me any compensation. This is the second time in a row that I've had issues renting a trailer. Cost me time, inconvenience, and gas due to having to use a larger trailer for 1,600 miles. Also, delt with multiple locations which passed the resolution to the other locations - making it more difficult to get a resolution. You need to keep your equipment in good working order. This time it was a cable on the door, last time it was a light wiring issue in the trailer that took at least 4 hours to fix in my driveway (it was after midnight before it was patched to work correctly).Greg G.

The new reservations were the result of substantial flooding in the building. The management was extraordinary in facilitating moving stuff out of our 2 flooded units, storing it in 2 U-Boxes and then finding space in the building after the clean-up for re-storing much of our stuff going forward. Everyone was very diligent and responsive - and retained calm and good humor throughout despite the mess. Landon was the point person and managed the complex details of the process and the large group of staff hired to do the work. The first vehicle we were given had the engine and tire warning lights on and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. When I asked about the lights they told me the lights were on since the catalytic converter was stolen. I did not want the vehicle. They gave us a new vehicle which had a strong smell of marijuana. They day I was supposed to return the truck I asked if I could extend a few more days. One employee told me yes but another called me a few hours later and strongly told me the truck needed to be returned that day.Karen R.

They rented me a 5x8 trailer with a roll up door. The roll up door had a bent track and we could not get it open to get to our stuff after our first day of travel. The first night we were in Kansas at a hotel and could not get to our luggage. You sent out roadside assistance and they could not open it. The next morning we called roadside assistance again and they said they would fix it that afternoon when we arrived in Denver. We arrived in Denver around 3:30p and roadside assistance said the shop could not open it until the next morning. So we spent another night without our luggage. The next morning the shop opened the door with a forklift. They said it was NOT stuck due to cargo shifting but because the track was bent and St Louis uhaul should have never rented it in that condition.Stuart C.

Was charged $30 maintenance fee because the gas was a little bit below the amount I was supposed to return with. I don't think that was very fair considering it was just by a little and I still had to pay for the gas difference.Hyunjee L.

Received a much larger trailer than what was ordered. Caused difficulties in securing items when I couldn't rely on the size of the trailer to contain few items. Pickup location changed drastically from what was requested. Had to drive 30 more miles through rush hour traffic to get to new location. At 8:30pm on a Monday night, I got a call that we were going to need a u hall truck to pickup and transport clothing the next day.( Church Mission's Dept. ) I sat and thought, I can get a trailer and hook it to my car, made reservations with my phone on-line, got up Tuesday morning, arrived at location, gave my reservation #, hooked up trailer to vehicle, transported clothing, returned trailer all with ease and no hassle and this location has plenty of trailers of various sizes. Very unsatisfied. I would give -100 review if I can. I ordered my car exactly model, year, brand for rental auto transport trailer. So, you just give me an auto transport trailer even I can't loaded my car? And your employee said that's the biggest you have? I chose you, not other companies because your website shows you have an auto transport trailer able to loaded my car! Because I don't want drive a $100k car to do long distance trip! Our storage was flooded and it’s certainly due to uhaul’s inadequate protection of storages, but I can forgive it cus it’s a natural disaster. HOWEVER Uhaul staff threw away a lot of our possessions without letting us check?!! The front desk promised they have cleared everything and didn’t allow us to check our original unit before the flood. I tried to call the University City Uhaul but kept being redirected to another location. Rates increase often for pest control & maintenance, although there's critters in walkways and outdated rat poison pod in my unit. Insurance paid monthly doesn't cover water damage of any kind. Unable to access my unit after office hours due to broken door latch. Even though approx. a foot of water leaked into my unit and I had to dispose of most items that was on the floor, staff were extremely helpful with boxing things that could be saved, preventing more water from entering the unit, and providing movers to relocate my items to another location.Malissa R. | Overall Experience
