Pamela BThe representative was very unprofessional and used inappropriate language during the interaction. It seemed as though they were unwilling to assist, possibly because it was a Sunday. The overall experience was disappointing and did not reflect the level of customer service I expected.

Dawson BWhen I, J walked in to get the U-Haul with my son who came down from Watertown to drive it and help me, all of a sudden the worker David at the U-Haul , answered his phone and this guy keep talking to him about he had to get a bigger u-haul because their king size mattress would not fit in the one he was getting. David should have said "I am with a customer let me get your number and I will call you back". He was ready getting my Discover card and we could have been done with the traction in a few more minutes. The helper had already came to my Condo and wonder what was taking so lone. We did 18 miles at 1.29 a mile. I ask for a receipt and this David that waited on us said the printer was out of ink and he would email it to me. Don't you keep extra ink on hand. Then also my son brought down his own dolly and one with 4 wheels on it and my friend had his appliance dolly. I had a big wall unit and he had to take off your dolly so would not scrape my expensive wall unit. We did not use it. They had their own .I am not paying the $7.00 because it was in the way and had to be remove to get my wall unit in, It should not even be there, if some one needs one go get it and than they can pay for it. I am going to talk to the Attorney General in Pierre, SD if this charge is on there. This is the worst transaction I have ever in counter with U-Haul

Matthew EBest advice I can give is either fire the dude who was beyond rude and gave nothing but attitude thinking he could raise his voice at me making me raise my voice right back after a while due to getting absolutely sick of his attitude. But the moment I mentioned the manager he decided shut his mouth for a second and started blaming it on the system being down. All my review answers are based on the crappy worker.

The employee who checked us out for pick up was also phenomenal. They both were very calm even in what seemed like a higher stress job. They both were very personable. I have never rented before and they made the process easy.

Kevin JThis was a nice facility. The only issue I had was I placed my order to be picked up on 11th st in Sioux Falls. When I got to the 11th St facility the man told me I was at wrong place. I showed him my reservation and he was so dismissing. I then asked for the address 3 times and he finally pulled it up. The gentleman at the Grand Slam facility was wonderful.

Pamela BContracted with pipestone mn for a trailer for Friday 5/22 morning pickup and Friday evening pickup for a 28 ft truck. Received a message from uhaul after the reservation that they didn't have the truck available in pipestone so we could pick it up in Sioux Falls and they would adjust the miles for our inconvenience. We picked up the trailer as planned. When arriving for the truck late afternoon they had canceled the truck reservation and if we wanted it we would have to pay the extra mileage. One day before moving and uhaul pulled a fast one on us. We got our big things moved with help from someone else but no thanks to uhaul by canceling the truck reservation the evening before our move. We will let all those that we know how uhaul treats their customers Don't trust them to keep their agreed terms and refused to honor the agreement
Chad BWouldn’t use U-Haul again, reserved a trailer 10 days ahead of time and they made me travel 45 minutes to a different location (45 mins back too)pick up a trailer. Wouldn’t offer discount for traveling or anything

Annette CWent well—no issues with the location. The only issue is that the U-Haul website says you can get a trailer with a ramp, but when I went to rent one, I was told you just get whatever is on hand. I’d say either equip them all with ramps or don’t advertise that you can get one with a ramp.

Jeff SThe employee was over an hour late, the store was supposed to be open at 7 AM but wasn’t open until after 8 AM. The reservation line had to call to find out why the store was closed. The first reservation was canceled though I had moved with U-Haul from Fargo to Sioux using my current phone number and also updated my profile U-Haul used a phone number from more than 5 years ago to call and canceled my reservation all together. I had to make a new reservation a day before I was supposed to pick up the truck. The truck was filthy inside and outside as well as the windows inside and outside. The truck didn’t even have the equipment loaded. I don’t see myself using U-Haul in the future.
Sherie FI received a call saying our unit was locked after we had checked out. This was not the case. The person on the phone told me they had just been to the unit and it was locked - when I had the lock with me at home. I'm sure it was an administrative error, but it made it seem unorganized. The check in method was also unclear, as we were supposed to type in a code to disarm the alarm to our unit. We were given a code, but the app/email was unclear exactly what the code was for and where to input the code. Finally, other storage facilities come with locks on their unit, while we had to purchase a lock for this unit.

BERNARD RReserved a two wheel dolly along with the truck. When I got there the manager said he didn't have a dolly to rent, then he said he ones I could buy. Not sure how a large U-haul facility could be out of two wheel dollies. A week later I Reserved another truck & 2 two wheel dollies to be picked up at a gas stations and they had the dollies.
DANIEL BEnsure the equipment is fully functional and ready to use. Forty-five minutes into our trip we had a tire blow out and had to pull off the interstate and wait an hour for someone to come and change out the wheel.

MATTHEW OThe location and people there were fine. The problem was U-Haul changed the pickup location but did.not inform me. I had to drive 40 minutes out of my way to get and drop off the truck. I had movers waiting for me because I was late. Again, not the location’s problem, but a U-Haul problem. Shitty way to treat a customer. And this review doesn’t allow me to actually address the problem. Hopefully someone not at this location takes the time to read this an is willing to call me about how I was treated.
MICHAEL KThe truck was picked up from the Minneapolis area with less than a full tank of gas. I took a photo of the dash showing the mileage and digital gas miles remaining gage before leaving the lot, the truck was returned with a gas level reflecting more miles remaining on the tank and I was still charged $8.80 for 2 additional gallons. Not impressed

JOEL G | Overall ExperienceThis was our 2nd rental from this location. This time was fine. Prior rental was for a trailer with a ramp. Got the trailer, went to load and no ramp. Went back after wasting a couple hours. Got a truck. We asked for smallest truck with a ramp. They gave us what we thought was the smallest but after doing the 2nd rental we saw there was a smaller one with a ramp. We did not need the extra space, just needed a ramp

BARTON TWelcome Uhaul to our Eastside neighborhood. It was wonderful to start my day this morning at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Veterans Parkway in Sioux Falls- Eastside. I was greeted with a smile & courteous good morning welcome by Mathew, a Uhaul representative, as I opened the door. Although I checked in earlier online, Matthew quickly reviewed & confirmed my reservation details in a professional & pleasant manner. The outdoor parking lot area & sidewalks to the office & storage building were cleared of snow. The onsite rental office was very organized & uncluttered. When I returned my rental vehicle at noon today another onsite attendant (sorry I don't recall his name) also acknowledged me with a warm greeting & speedy check out process. The outdoor parking area & sidewalks to the main office entrance had been cleared of snow again. The office was still clean & uncluttered. I could tell that both Uhaul representatives displayed Uhaul company pride, & were eager to greet me, address my questions, & provide a great customer experience. Thank you guys, keep it going & welcome to our Eastside neighborhood.

NELSON MMaybe have more people on staff. Each time we were in it was under staffed. The guys were great but they had several customers deep in line and needed to walk away from the register to assist with products / property. I felt bad for them - I picked up second hand stress just watching them run.

RICHARD BJanuary 2026. This appears to be a brand new facility in Sioux Falls. That being said: clean, nice, plenty of open storage lockers, plenty of equipment to rent. Very easy process for rental service as in any UHaul location. Dave was particularly helpful over the phone about dropping off my trailer a day early, although when he called me to ask if I had dropped the trailer off I suspected that the new employees may need some training about how to check returned equipment in. Overall a good experience, I would recommend this location for your UHaul needs.
PATRICK JStaff was very helpful, had an issue with the first trailer but they got us another one and actually suggested a fix with an issue with our truck so we could take the trailer we rented. Great staff.
JAMES BI was guaranteed a pickup of a 6x12 trailer in Brookings SD but the dealer I went to as well all other dealers in Brookings did not have that trailer, so I had to drive to a U-Haul an hour out of the way. This delayed my move significantly. This is not the fault of any of the dealers or this location in particular. This is a failure of U-Haul as a company and honestly I thing this should mean a monetary compensation for the problem.

Well we ended up getting 3 storage units for our stuff and took advantage of the “FREE” one month offer and used it there for that time. In a months time we went there maybe 5 times. They have bad cricket infestation. I know it’s only crickets but they were in all of our stuff. I guess it’s the thought of it. I didn’t tell anyone about it bc for one I didn’t want to deal with Xavier with his poor attitude so I figured since we were only going to be there for a month so be it. We moved out over the weekend and used their truck again (I did) check in and out with the app. Anyhow we seen Xavier in one of the hallways while we were moving out and he looked away and didn’t even acknowledge us or say hi….nothing! Crazy. And this man is in charge. WOW. Anyhow I had to call customer service and report him bc he refused to check my storage units out and was trying to charge us for another month. After I got a hold of customer service he messaged me and did it and gave some lame excuse about us checking out of the units after he left for the day but we just seen him in the hallway. So he is a liar on top of that. I hoope corporate sees this and gets that man out of there. As long as he is working there we will never come back.
