The uhaul employee was very friendly and helpful. The company needs to hire more counter help. There was a very long wait for only 3 or 4 customers.Drew H.
The mobile check in of the rental was a disaster. Not quick, easy, or efficient at all. Incredibly frustrating. Fortunately your staff member was able to bring me inside and get me checked out in a matter of a minute. Returned the trailer 1 1/2hours before the the due time. Attendant was busy with three trucks, but he told he to drop the trailer and he would park it I asked him about the charge I paid on credit card and he stated that when the trailer is checked in I would get an email. he looked over the trailer and parked it. I had to return the truck Sunday morning and there was 1 person working. I was in line for almost 20 minutes and decided to do the online check in for the return, which I didn't want to do to make sure everything was OK and no extra charges were applied. I was then charged an extra day because I checked in after the time it was due 8 AM Sunday, but the location wasn't open until 9 AM. So I had to contact the main U Haul to dispute the charge, which the agent took off.Philip K.

The van had a dent at the back door severe enough that I couldn't actually lock door. Had I known it wouldn't lock and want latching fully before I left, I would have asked for a different vehicle. The Jack on the auto transport was broken when we arrived to pick it up. We waited an hour and a half while it was repaired. Lots of credit to the guy that worked on getting it repaired. He did some great problem solving. The thing is it should have been repaired when it was returned by the last customer.William H.

The trailer was missing one tie down hook at the front drivers side corner. This prevented me from securing the load at the front of the trailer for tongue weight as well as for protection. This was mentioned to the person at drop off. Above average and not excellent only because of the amount of information needed at check-out. terrible customer service. order was incorrect and the van i reserved was converted into a truck instead which was not ideal for my needs. i was then given a story about things customers should not hear about theft or something the cops needed to be involved in. i then witnessed a customer come in to inform them the vehicle she rented wasn't working and was a bit frustrated i imagine because of the service. the lady behind the desk in street cloths proceeded to yell at the woman and tell her not to have an attitude. the lady who checked me out for my final transaction was nice and helped explain some of the charges but the overall experience was terrible. i was in a hurry to go to work and i felt buyers remorse when i was done. i almost canceled the rental and called a friend to pay more money but i didn't so i would wreck their day. smh idk wtf is going on there but management needs replacing thereGreg M.

Explain how controls work like cruise control and parking brake in cargo van. Point out location of fuel cap. Explain how after hours drop off works. This would not have taken much time since I was the only customer at the time. Clean the cargo area ahead of pick up. Rear doors did not lock. I tried a lot of times to lock them. In spite of these issues I enjoyed driving the cargo van. When I dropped it off after 7:20 am, there was nobody at the front desk. I had to wait for about 10 to 15 minutes for the attendant. This location (Warner Park) was phenomenal. My first drop off location (Uhaul moving and storage of East Madison) did not have the two storage units I reserved online several months ago, claiming it was not their problem because the online reservation system does not mean units are available. This seems like a faulty policy...I drove to Madison from Ohio and when I arrived there were no units available? What if the Warner Park location did not have any either? What's the point of making reservations online if there is no guarantee of a unit? In the end, the Warner Park location helped me out and we're great. I will never use the East Madison location and will tell my friends not to either.William F.

Super long line tried to give the trailer I had rented away to another customer. I pre checked in and I feel like this shaved minimal time off check in if any at all. I have rented with u haul many times and honestly the only reason you keep getting my business is that you have a monopoly on the market. I was told by a gentleman on the phone that my lock would be in my unit once it was available but there was not, my attempts to reach an employee were unsuccessful at the intercoms placed around the building as well as when calling as there is not a direct number for the store, and there is no way to get to the front office without leaving the storage area, going outside and then back inside. Everything was excellent except the parking spots in the loading bay (inside, where you can back your car up to the ledge) were often very dirty. Things like dirty masks and food wrappers were almost always laying around, and often we'd find sharp items like nails, screws, etc. that we'd have to pick up before pulling in. This reduced the convenience (and it was a little gross.) Other than that though, we were very happy with our experience there. The interior was always very well maintained, I always felt safe and like my stored items were safe. Super convenient location and accessibility. The process of reserving and entering and exiting the facility was great! Though, the office persuaded us to upgrade to climate control and when moving out of the unit three months later there were bugs EVERYWHERE. Dead bugs in all my things, falling from the ceiling and so basically everything was covered or dirty or in disgusting condition just sitting there. I wouldn’t recommend it for that reason alone. I made a reservation (over the phone) back in May for a storage unit starting at the end of July. I also called a week before the move-in date to confirm that I still had the reservation. When I arrived on the move-in date, the staff member told me that the reservation "didn't mean anything" and could only get a unit if one was available. Thankfully there was a unit free, but if this was not the case, I would have been left stranded with all of my belongings in a truck and no moving help. Provided this staff member is correct, this is an absurd way to organize a storage facility. At no time when I talked with UHaul representatives before my move was I warned that I was not guaranteed a storage unit with a reservation. Moreover, why is it called a "reservation" if a unit is not "reserved" for you? Because of the gross misuse of this word and poor communication on the part of UHaul, I recommend that others should NOT use UHaul for storage.Daniel C. | First Impressions

I reserved a truck and storage locker. 10X5 and a truck. This was on May 23. On May 26th Uhaul changed the truck hours to evening? I called the site and they had no data - said they were closed on Saturday: told me I may as well be calling Walgreens ... I got on line and truck was not available so I took a van. Showed up on Saturday and the counter person said no storage lockers available ,,, told me to go to a competitor about 3 miles away and maybe they had one? I finally ended up getting an overhead locker and put the stuff on its side - almost killing myself in the process. The counter people agreed: your web site is terrible.
