While the location staff was helpful, the website was terrible. And backend communications were poor. I every time I had to access my Ubox during packing I had to sit on hold for at least 20 minutes the day before to request access. It should be possible to quickly request access via the website. Additionally the notifications on the website were unhelpful and did not accurately reflect the status of my Ubox before or during shipping. I also received a number of cryptic emails, clarity here could be greatly improved as well. I was not able to fill out the Gypsy Moth form online and had to submit it in person, the error message on the website was terrible, simply asking me to try again and not providing me with any suggestion as to how to resolve the error or what to do if I could not fill out the form online. Once I had filled out the form and submitted it in person the notifications about the forms on the website did not go away and remained on my dashboard all the way through my move. I was repeatedly told that my box was going to ship on such and such a date and it repeatedly got rescheduled. Having reserved the box two months in advance and having scheduled delivery only a few days after reserving it the box was redirected to a different location then the one that it was supposed to be sent to, an extra 20 minutes further away and it arrived a day late. I still have not received the $50 that was promised to me for the late arrival and not compensation whatsoever was offered for sending the box to the wrong location. When I arrived at the delivery location, I had to wait for 20 minutes before talking to the person at the front desk, even though I had scheduled access two days prior for 9:00am that morning, and had arrived just before 11:00am that day they had not taken my box out of storage and I had to wait another hour for them to remove it from storage and move it to a location where I could access it. The location had a very poor setup and it took them far longer to move it then it should have both because of the setup and it seemed because of the lack of well trained personnel at the location. The ratings above reflect the honest answers to the questions you actually asked me but my overall experience with Ubox was terrible, it's just that all of the issues had to do with your organization in Traffic, the website, and the location that the box arrived at not the one that it shipped from. I pray that the contents of my comments actually reach ears that have the power to do something to improve your systems. I talked to a woman from Texas when I was waiting to access my box at the final location, and she relayed almost identical experiences. You are wasting both your time and your customers time with the extreme dysfunction of the website and customer communications by causing a tremendous amount of uncertainty.

It took me 3-4 attempts to find a van in the lot using the online check in. Once I located a vehicle, I went in to get the keys, and they could not find the keys. I had to wait for someone to bring a vehicle around, and then there was less than 1/4 tank of gas, so I had to get gas right away.

Charged me $40 for extra miles despite me leaving almost that much extra in fuel in the tank. I would have called it wash and no charged extra. Not sure why the consumer is paying a $5 environmental fee? That is your cost of doing business not mine. Please reimburse me $25 for the paper towel, and windex and hand sanitizer and loss in time to disinfect the nasty windshield and grubby steering wheel that seemed the be grimy based on the discoloration to the the paper towel. Gross! For what I paid I expect perfection when entering the vehicle.

Extremely understaffed for such a large location. Only one employee was in the sales area to handle rentals, returns and storage building and there was a constant stream of customers. When I asked if there were more employees to help I was told all others were elsewhere handling hitches. It took 30 minutes to check in the truck after I turned in the key at the counter and was asked to step aside to wait along with a storage facility customer til the 4 customers behind me were dispatched. Nonetheless, Tonya was friendly and helpful once she dedicated her attention to me.

The ubox was originally supposed to be delivered to my location but 4 days before the move, I got a call saying this was not possible despite having a rental contract. This is unacceptable. The staff at the Warner park location went above and beyond to be helpful, but it never should have been like this. The delivery was all screwed up to the point that they did not know if traffic would be able to deliver a box. The UHaul website never worked or let me update anything, and it was impossible to get off hold when calling the 1-800 number so I always had to go in person whenever I had the slightest question. All in all great boots on the ground, bad corporate planning and structure.

There was no issue with the location. However, there were many issues with the pickup scheduled for 9/2. I had a chat transcript explicitly stating the pickup/drop-off would be 9/2 at 9 PM in McFarland, WI and 9/5 9 PM in McFarland, WI. I got confirmation from the uhaul representative that those were the times and locations. I was not contacted by phone (as was stated in the email) to confirm details. The wrong location was entered, and it was for the wrong day to be returned. When we drove back into Madison, the truck was not available. This wasted 3 hours of our time the night before our wedding. It was a nightmare, and I hold the representative personally responsible for a very stressful experience. I have been recommending people use other services since then, and until I am contacted with an apology and a solution to make this right, will never recommend uhaul. Please review the chat transcript and compare it to the order that was entered.

The Warner Park Storage is the best! I could access my unit at any time and loading/unloading is a breeze. The staff was always helpful - even when I had to change my plans twice! I highly recommend this location in Madison.

The general manager showed patience beyond belief. I was third back in line and he was working with a couple that were so clueless and slow. He calmly repeated answers to their stupid questions. After he finished with them and started working with the next people in line the woman continued to ask questions and rudely say loudly how slow he was. He was beyond patient. I saw him later and told him I was impressed with how he handled those people. He said ‘everybody is different, I'm just trying to get everyone signed in and give them what they need'. His statement was impressive because he didn't trash those people….which probably would have been my first response. He showed respect to even the people that were so rude and clueless. The process of reserving and entering and exiting the facility was great! Though, the office persuaded us to upgrade to climate control and when moving out of the unit three months later there were bugs EVERYWHERE. Dead bugs in all my things, falling from the ceiling and so basically everything was covered or dirty or in disgusting condition just sitting there. I wouldn’t recommend it for that reason alone. I expected more out of the upgraded and more expensive climate controlled space. It’s indoors after all!

Because I rented from all for Two or Three Years and there's no other storage I would Use and I thank all to the staffing at that Location for being So kind especially those two gentlemen that worked on Sunday and one of the gentlemen's worked on that Tuesday and inspected the storage build unit for me after I cleaned it all up and U-Haul you all get you gave me a chance instead of getting rid of all my stuff because I was late one or two times not much late but I was late so thank you all in Jesus bless you all too✌️

This was the worst moving experience that I have ever had. The movers we booked through Uhaul arrived late (by 6hours) and we're unprofessional. Our boxes were not moved on the specified date from our reservation and were “lost” for a month where we did not have access to them (although this is in our contract to have access). Employees were poorly trained to assist with u-box which meant that I spent cumulative of 6+ hours on hold, spoke to 18 different individuals, and only 2 who could even offer assistance with u-box. Our items were supposed to be delivered but we had to pick them up ONE AT A TIME because the store didn't have an available truck or two-box trailer. I will never ever use Uhaul again for any moves and will actively discourage others from using Uhaul due to my experience.

Called more that 48 hours in advance so Ubox pickup could be arranged after waiting on hold for over 30 mins. Confirmed several times that my ubox would be ready since I had family coming from out of town to help with my move. Upon arriving was told the forklift needed for my ubox was not available and I would not be able to get my ubox the day I was scheduled too. Staff members told me there was nothing they could do and the best they could offer is me picking up tomorrow instead. I needed my things and my family suggested renting an ADDITIONAL trailer to move everything from the ubox into another trailer to move. Was able to do this although with additional costs when uhaul is the one who messed up my pickup.

i tried to call you today to tell you what a terrible experience i had with my reservation today. i booked a u haul on line with the 602 west washington ave madison WI location on 8/7/21. i specifically booked this location. when we went to pick up our van i was told that you moved locations on me yesterday and alerted me via email. i was outraged but adam schultz the employee on duty at this location was rude and unsympathetic - basically told me too bad. i asked why as there is 7 of the vans in the lot. he again was rude and said not my problem. i then had to spend over $35 in ubers to go to and from the other location - defeating the reason of renting uhauls at the specific location. i will never use you again - i tried to get someone on the phone to explain how ridiculous it is for me to pay more than the van rental in ubers to pick up the van!!!! when i call there was a 40 minute hold to get a rep on the phone. really, why not call or text my cell phone which you had. the email telling me you switched locations one day before pick up was in my spam folder. it not only wasted $ but it wasted about an hour of our time traveling to and from downtown madison back and forth to the airport. really poor customer service and shitty management from Adam.

The two locations that I dealt with were excellent, however my initial experience with Uhaul was not. I was contacted the night before by the Rochester, MN staff that my trailer would not be available and that my only option was to travel 3 extra hours round trip to retrieve one. As it was my only option I did this. The customer service people that I dealt with were rude and talked to me as if they were doing me a favor instead of being apologetic for the inconvenience and cost I was incurring. The staff in La Cross were so pleasant and helpful I couldn't just let the initial treatment go unheard. The Rochester staff need to know attitude is everything if it wasn't for the other sites you would have lost a customer and received a bad review.

I have no issue with the U-Haul location. Reservations were a big problem. I reserved a few weeks in advance. The Monday before, I got a call that told me my smaller trailer was not available, would I mind slightly larger at a nearby location. No problem, switch made. On the morning of the rental, my “guaranteed reservation” was changed again - this time to 5-1/2 hours later (too late for my son moving out of an apartment). I called and waited on hold for 14 minutes, as we were driving two hours to U-Haul. Finally got through, and the people were great - found another nearby location with the right equipment. No problem with people, but your reservation system really stinks, What does “guaranteed” mean?

Starting out by saying the staff was friendly and sympathetic and doing the best they could! 10/10 would recommend the staff at this location. Though the location was swamped on a Sunday, and I and quite a few others ended up having to leave our rentals to be checked in. I tried to use the text message to return the truck myself but it didn't recognize my location services being turned on. Talking with others it sounds like this was a common occurrence. It didn't let me skip the page either to continue checking in the vehicle which was a shame. Great rental experience otherwise.

At the time I picked up the vehicle, the fuel tank was marked at full, though it was below three quarters. When returning the vehicle I was informed by Tonya I would have to do a self check in despite arriving during normal business hours. She was rude and argumentative. and only performed her duty after I insisted several times.

I made a reservation (over the phone) back in May for a storage unit starting at the end of July. I also called a week before the move-in date to confirm that I still had the reservation. When I arrived on the move-in date, the staff member told me that the reservation "didn't mean anything" and could only get a unit if one was available. Thankfully there was a unit free, but if this was not the case, I would have been left stranded with all of my belongings in a truck and no moving help. Provided this staff member is correct, this is an absurd way to organize a storage facility. At no time when I talked with UHaul representatives before my move was I warned that I was not guaranteed a storage unit with a reservation. Moreover, why is it called a "reservation" if a unit is not "reserved" for you? Because of the gross misuse of this word and poor communication on the part of UHaul, I recommend that others should NOT use UHaul for storage.

I wish I knew all the people I worked with through my year there. Omar was way nice. Saturday, checking out, there was an attractive young lady who was also kind. If I had ONE nitpick, and it is minor, but the place may have been under staffed Saturday. But, all in all, it was a good experience.

The general manager and his staff are fantastic. They are very accommodating to reasonable requests, and helped me save money. They are friendly and professional and the space is clean, well lit, and safe. It is difficult reaching them or uhaul by phone sometimes, due to the volume they are dealing with.

I reserved a truck and storage locker. 10X5 and a truck. This was on May 23. On May 26th Uhaul changed the truck hours to evening? I called the site and they had no data - said they were closed on Saturday: told me I may as well be calling Walgreens ... I got on line and truck was not available so I took a van. Showed up on Saturday and the counter person said no storage lockers available ,,, told me to go to a competitor about 3 miles away and maybe they had one? I finally ended up getting an overhead locker and put the stuff on its side - almost killing myself in the process. The counter people agreed: your web site is terrible. One said you guys are so bad at managing reservations" she was quitting next week? You guys are terrible -

I was moving my stuff from a U-Box to a storage unit. Called over 48 hours in advance to have my U-Box ready, but when I got to the facility, it was not set out. Since the U-Box was not able to be brought out that day, I am required to make an extra unnecessary trip to the storage unit.

I rented my unit online including a lock. The lock was not in the unit (as the confirmation email said it would be) so I had to wait in line for a bit to get it. This was the only issue I had, everything else was great, including the staff person who helped me out and gave me my lock. Thank you!

Great friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean organized facility Couple of recommendations....the threshold from the loading dock into the facility is very rutted with cracked and broken concrete. I simple concrete patch would make a big difference in the ease of getting the courtesy carts through the door....plus it could be a tripping hazard.

Em and Tanya were absolutely phenomenal! I had less than 20 minutes to find a new storage facility due to Storequest completely obstructing my storage unit I had rented the week prior for Saturday’s move. Not only did Storagequest refuse to help me, they did nothing to assist with their obstruction of my unit to gain access to it. I had Two Men and a truck with all my belongings in the truck and no storage left! I got immediate storage through Uhaul and with my circumstances as they were Em made a call to her supervisor and surprised me with not only a free month for the trouble another company put me through , but also had the keys to the unit and a lock ready to go when we arrived. I cannot tell you how grateful and appreciative I am for your incredible customer service, you staff’s attention to the details and the speed with which it was delivered means to me! A horrible experience elsewhere was immediately turned around, got me back on track with my move and made me feel like I was being treated with above and beyond service. These two young ladies were incredible to work with and my friend that was with me said exactly the same. She will need help with storage for her daughter in the future and we will only do business with U-Haul from here on out. Your staff gained two loyal customers. Thank you!!!

My mattress was inside of 2 tarps and still was ruined by dripping water from the wall or ceiling and I was unable to use the insurance I payed for to replace it. The lock did not fit and the door was unable to secure completely which made me get calls from the office about an improper lock which I was forced to use because I was not able to move to a new working locker nor would they fix the sliding portion of the lock or the door. Very unimpressed with the business. Would not recommend.

It took a lot of time for the staff to attend me because he was the only one present. You should make more staff available at least at rush hours time. I know because of covid this can be hard but you have no idea how much we all had to wait. Also if you can make sure for loading carts to be present at their location that would be great.
