Pickup location changed 2x after initial reservation was made with little notice( day before). Pick up location was a 24/7 online location with no employees and no instructions on how to pick up vehicle. There were other renters there who didn't know what to do as well. There was a 30 minute wait time on hold to speak with servicing. Pick up location was 1 hour away from original location (place of storage). In the vehicle 2 hours later than originally reserved for, costing $ for idle movers. Requested 2 furniture dolly's, only 1 was provided. Overall, a terrible experience and will look elsewhere next time for rental services.john T.

I had a reservation to pick my 6x12 trailer at this unit at 3:00 on Sunday, May 15th. We had a memorial service for my father (who just passed away) that same day at 1:00pm, it ran a little long. I drove an from an hour away and wound up at this location at 4:55. As I walked in and apologized for being late, I was rudely told by your closing person that you were closed and I would have to come back tomorrow. It was just turning 5:00pm and I explained my situation and how I was at a funeral, etc. and I would have to find a hotel for the night. She said sorry they were closed, she already started the night-end procedure on the computer. As I sat in the parking lot dumbfounded, she locked up and told me I could call the U-Haul 800#. I attempted to do just that but kept getting switched from one employee to another at your reservation center. I hung up, got a hotel for the night and showed up at 7am the next morning. I have just completed putting three kids through three different colleges and have U-Haul equipment many times in the past 10 years. I am planning to use U-Haul to move my daughter out of her apartment in South Florida on Saturday, May 28th; this will be the very last time I use your company for anything. If I had another option, I would cancel this upcoming reservation. The lack of courtesy, compassion or just being a decent human being that was on display at your Athens location was absolutely appalling and disgusting. I could care less about the hotel cost or the fact that I had to take a day of work because of this situation. What infuriates me the most is the lack of empathy or caring in this situation. Make sure you truck engine is working well. I loss a mirror of a 150 year old mirrow from grand mother because of your truck rough driving engine. It even got stuck in my yard. Paid $100.00 additional to get out of my past address. Plus gas prices at the time $100.00 for a tank of gas.manda F.

U-Haul was quick to change my original order from a 20 ft truck to a 15 ft truck....only to find out there were no 15 ft trucks so I was given the 20 ft truck for the same price as the 15. I picked up the truck and discovered when I got home that it had not been cleaned. I spent a hour and a half of me time cleaning the truck. I was also told the truck had 1/4 tank of gas. It had 1/8 at best. I had to put 33 gallons of gas to fill it up.Dennis G.

They rented me a truck knowing that it had broken down and had mechanical issues. I sat in the truck ,on the side of the road, broken down 3 times before making it to the return. Just to hear the employee say that they already knew the truck was messed up but they still had to rent it. I want my money back.Joseph D.

Showed up at 9am to pick up my truck and there was no employee to be found. 20 min later I got my truck, which sounded like it was about to throw a rod. It was actually pulled in so close to the truck in front of it that the bumper was riding on top the ball on the hitch from the truck in front of it. Needless to say there was a terrible metal ripping sound as I pulled out. Turned the truck in at the end of the day and found out I was charged twice for the rental. The employee said he couldn't do anything except tell me to contact my credit card. Terrible experience. If you don't buy insurance take tons of pictures as the truck looks like it came from a junk yard. Good luck on you move!Stephen B.

Had to wait for approximately 30 minutes to be waited on. I was left ALONE in store during this time. 1 customer was ahead of me and no activity in the lot, so it was not busy. Upon getting my rental truck I found several warning lights on. After questioning the attendant he said oh the truck is fine, the service engine light is on for some reason and the tire system light is on for another reason. Good thing it was an in town use becuase I would not have accepted vehicle if not.Keith L.

The unit was small and had a large I-beam running through the middle of it limiting inside. I still had almost 3 weeks left on the rental and was told there was no credit for unused time and no further access to the unit for the remainder as I was vacating it. We reserved a 26' truck, well in advance. We were to empty a storage unit on site, move the contents to a new home, and then move the contents from a rental house to the new house. There was no 26' truck to be found. As a result, the two $65/hr movers, using a 17' truck, we're engaged for 9 hours. Instead of 6. My out of pocket was $195 extra. My U-Haul fees should be comped. No attendant in the store. Had to wait 15 min with 2 other customers before employee finally appeared. Unit was too small for size of truck, upstairs, and cut in half by a huge beam that rendered most of space unusable. 7 foot couch would not fit in supposedly 10 ft unit. No other units available at any price. It was 90 degrees at 7pm inside “climate controlled” facility. Ended up having to keep truck over night and unloading 1/2 of truck into my living room and taking off work to return the next day. Then charged for extra mileage. When I reserved my 10x10x10 storage unit, I was not made aware that the total SQ footage would be broken up into 2 units instead of one. I wasn't made aware of that until I arrived with a 20 ft. U-Haul truck driven from Oklahoma City to Athens, GA. It was difficult for my unloaders to get everything split up because the total sq footage was not split evenly between both units. This has also made it more difficult for me, in that I have to move things around in order to easily get to what I need. I'm not a happy camper about this.
