The two females at the desk were rude and not customer friendly at all. They were talking bad about other customers and complaining about their jobs all while giving attitude. Couldn't even answer a question without an attitude. The bald man with the beard was nice and made the whole experience more tolerable. I had great customer service at the West Springfield U-Haul. I reserved a trailer at a different U-Haul location and the lights didn't work, so I rushed to West Springfield just before closing and they rented me a trailer, even though it was after closing by the time they finished hitching. I was ripped off. Two hours from my origin location the fully-loaded 20 foot truck began pulling to the right so sharply that it hurt my wrists and it could barely be kept in a straight line. Mechanic friends were shocked that the truck would be rented in such condition. I was told I would be reimbursed for the truck. When I called to resolve the matter the manager said he had never told me that. I had to pay an unexpected 8000.00 to ship Uboxes across the country, as well as train fare back to my origin. I was not going to risk my safety again with a shoddy truck. Uhaul packed my stuff into the Uboxes. My belongings arrived crushed. Clearly-marked â€œFragileâ€ boxes were underneath book boxes. Many of my totes were crushed. While I was waiting for Uhaul to make good on the promise to reimburse for the truck I accrued over 500.00 in rent for the boxes. My jewelry supplies were ruined due to sitting in extreme heat in the meantime. I have spoken to at least eight representatives to try to get this resolved, and have opened a claim. No one has ever gotten back to me. I can't emphasize enough to stay away from this unprofessional company.Camille C.

Pick up location: I called central reservations to make the initial reservation. I asked for several close drop off locations but was told I had to make that request at time of pick up. BUT the pick up location was unable to enter into the computer any of the desired drop off locations. So we called Uhaul's scheduling manager Dillan who at first stated I would need to drop off the truck where Uhaul needed a truck. I explained it was not my job to drive an extra 30-60 minutes out of my way just to drop off the truck after a long move. He finally stated he changed the drop off location for us. The girl at the pick up desk tried to confirm the drop off location change but the computer showed nothing had changed. After 45 minutes we had to leave very frustrated and unsure of our drop off location. Drop off location: The next day I called the scheduling manager AGAIN and asked for specific drop off locations. I was told it was all set and one of the desired drop off locations was now available. BUT I never received a text for the new location so I had to call several more times before FINALLY getting a satisfactory location. When I got to the drop off location I was unable to use the after hours drop off link because it kept stating "...expired..."! So once again I had to call Uhaul and speak to a live Rep who told me I was all set to just leave the truck there. My wife and I are EXTREMELY upset and dissatisfied with Uhaul's "customer service" or lack thereof! The pick up and drop off locations did everything they could to help us. I was misled when I booked the truck. I even called to chat with someone in person to talk out my dilemma, we were moving my kid to Boston, and I was worried about getting the truck back by 4pm, I was told not to worry about it, that if I had it over 24 hours, I would just be charged for the next day. I confirmed this when I picked it up as well. Then I got a "frantic" call at 3:30 wondering where the truck was.... that it was due back at 3:45, I even thought at the very least I had til 4. We got the truck back in the nick of time, and left 1/2 a tank instead of the agreed 1/4 tank of gas.STACY W.

Mechanically the van had no issues. However the body had many dents and a huge gash in the passenger running board. These were all noted with little X stickers so obviously this damage was known and assumedly prior renters charged for this damage which was not repaired. Can't think of anything. There were two things that made the experience excellent. The first was the person who helped me the reservation, assured me I could cancel if I needed to do so. I fully expect my experience to be escalated and to be issued a full refund for my experience at 4 of your locations because not one of them had a truck for my girlfriend and I. Despite having made a reservation days beforehand. This company should not be letting people make reservations for trucks if you DO NOT HAVE THEM FOR THE DAY OF THEIR RESERVATIONS. The employees at the 3197 Main Street location in Hartford were the only ones of any help. The available equipment was clean and well maintained. The team member who helped me was also very pleasant. The issue I have is equipment availability. When I was being checked in when the team member was going over my reservation a gentleman was sitting at another register just said â€œwe don't have anyâ€ in reference to the hand dolly and furniture dolly I had rented. Firstly this seemed rude that he would talk over the lady that was helping me. Secondly I made the reservation in advance and booked helpers. If the equipment wasn't available and someone had let me know the day before I could have rented it somewhere else or picked up my uhaul at another location. Not having the equipment slowed everything down and is a huge problem. I still have part of my move left to complete and ended up spending several hundred ($234) extra do get done what I was able to. The limited nighttime hours, though, was a disappointment, and the key pass arrangement was confusing and bothersome. Some signage explaining rules was wrong making it hard to know "what to do and whom to call" after the office closed.
