Upon arrival I was told my reserved trailer had been given away to someone else because I was 40” late. I was never told this was your policy when I reserved the trailer. A courtesy call, text or email from the local U-Haul would have been easy to do and appreciated. I was panicked! Clearly I would have reserved with a credit card if this was your policy. The employee was able to find a larger substitute trailer which cost me 60% more! My impression is shady dealings.... The trailer was too big and my furniture slid around.

Customer service was excellent, but the trailer I rented had a dirty floor and had pieces of cardboard in it. I never looked in it when it was hooked to my truck. Also when I got to the destination with my belongings in it, I noticed it was leaking in the trailer. Uhal needs to retire that trailer.

The man at the counter (no name tag) could have cared less about the customers who were lined up to the door. He definitely acted like we were a bother to him and he lacked any customer service skills. We arrived a half hour early and I'm glad we did as we stood in line waiting for 30minutes!! Why have a reservation if it means nothing, so we ended up being late to our appointment. My biggest issue is that we had to provide our license (that I understand), however he then pulled out his phone and took pictures of both sides and when I questioned this and explained I didn't want that done his response was that he doesn't even look at them as he has a million pictures of his 10 month old to look at. The point is identity theft is huge and I dont know of any company that does this, I can see looking at it but taking pictures on cell phones no way. When I called to discuss this I was blown off and it fell on deaf ears. There was also a gas issue which we clearly documented with pictures that showed the mileage that was on contract at the time we picked it up also with the time on the dash with the gas gauge so we could prove that it was not filled to the level they listed on the contract and we were to be credited for. I understand we should have gone right back in to explain but due to the customers lined up all the way to the door and having already waited for a half hour causing us to now be late we felt our proof was in our pictures and we were told that was ok and that we were being issued a credit which also did not happen. The only good aspect was that the pick up truck we rented was very nice, clean and did a great job. I will not rent from these people again and I will be sure to pass along to others why we will not recommend them. I urge you to look into this employee and possibly see if training can help but. Very disappointed.

UHaul makes it hard to get a full UBox back. (1) By 11am day before delivery still no time estimate, so cd not schedule movers. (2) No sameday pickup; storage units won't let it stay overnight.

The west Springfield location is nice and the employees were helpful however That is after 3 hours to finally rent a trailer after driving to 2 other locations and getting yanked around on the phone by other Uhaul employees that simply don’t care that they lied to you and cost you time and money.

I was very upset that my rental cost doubled because the only trailer available was a so called "one way". I literally dropped it off 4 miles from where I picked it up and was charged double. What is the point of this policy. Your staff was great but their hands were tied by this ridiculous policy. The worst part is, if I rent it again from the location IO dropped it off at, I will be charged double to return it to the place I originally picked it up. Does that make any sense whatsoever? Please get rid of this one way drop off policy unless you are porously trying to fleece money from your consumers. If your intent is to fleece your customers then I will be looking else where in the future for my needs.

Not rent out vehicles that have have a service light on already, and tell customer it's not one they have to worry about.... the stabilitrack service light was on. That doesn't always mean the feature isnt working, it can also means it's working improperly (engaging when it shouldnt).

I took pictures of the mileage and gas tank when receiving the van, and also when returning the van. I put gas in the van before returning it and made sure it matched up. The location attempted to charge me for gas. I had to make several calls and text the manager pictures for the manager to fix this issue. I should not have had to deal with this. I will probably use penske next time.

The only problem was that there was a long line to get the van only one person was working I got there at 2 pm and had to wait 25 minutes and I was glad I got there early because I had people meeting me at the location where I was moving items

ihad to drive an hour to pick up dolly, the left fender was smashed, light was duct taped on. On drive to fla (1500 mi ) the left inner strap broke and the strap fell off the tire I found this when I pulled in for fuel, I then had u to use the safety chain to secure the car on the dolly along with a strap I had in the truck what a piece of shit, this thing couldn't have been inspected in months and yet you put it out on the road. The $300 I spent on renting it should have been refunded, it the van had come loose before I found it you wouldn't be talking to me about it right now. Don't you have any policies in safety checks on your equipment? I informed the lady at Marathon on 27 in sebring what had happened she said she would turn it in for repair, seeing how it's basically unuseable in it's current condition Your guys in springfield, ma are a joke

Your service clerk was rude, and got charged a fuel charge because the huge was off by 1/16 . I asked a employee was the fuel at the proper return level and was informed that the fuel level was at a sufficient mark to return vehicle but when I went to the desk your clerk informed me that the level was not correct was off by 1/16 of fuel. I asked to be allowed to take the vehicle directly across the street to a gas station to correct a $5 fuel level??

When I rented the second truck for our move, we realized upon arriving home there were no blankets in the truck. We called the store and spoke to a young lady and let her know. When we returned the truck the following day we dropped it off outside with Jonathan who said I would receive an e-mail with the invoice attached in my e-mail. The next day I received the invoice with an overcharge for the blankets which were not in the truck and use of the hand truck which we did not use and was still zip tied to the truck. I called the next day and was on hold for better than 45 minutes but did finally get to the billing department who told me they would open a refund request and that someone from the location would call or e-mail us within 72 hours. That did not happen, nor did the refund. When I called back to ask about it I got Joanthan on the phone who was very unhelpful and rude. Today I returned to the location and spoke to the Manager who told me I had to call customer service which I asked to do from there. We called and were told that it appeared the file had been closed and Joe, the Manager said he already issued the refund. I then rechecked my credit card statement and found no refund so I had to make yet another call only to find out he did not submit the refund after all...makes me wonder how many other customers were overcharged this small amount and either did not notice or gave up after much frustration. Very unhappy about the way i was treated by Jonathan and the fact that I had to chase down the refund three separate times. I do not consider this good customer service.

What I was disappointed in was the reservation part. I called a local # and thought I was picking up a one way vehicle at that location. You did send a email stating the vehicle was only to be picked up at another location 25 min further then I want to travel. So I then made the choice to rent a vehicle that I would have to return to that same location later that day. I wound up having to spend an extra hour or more returning the vehicle and returning to my destination where I want to drop off the vehicle in the first place. I had to pay for that gas and the mileage. Wasn't my plan! The plan was to pick up vehicle in west Springfield have some one drive my vehicle back to Colchester CT , then drop off UHAUL in Colchester. I wasn't happy having to spend more time and now have to pay to return vehicle. TIME IS VERY IMPORTANT IN PEOPLE LIVES.

Waited 40 minutes to pick up the truck and they put the drop off time so the guy said he wasn’t gonna charge for the extra day when I hadn’t even had it 24 hrs. You should have more employees working to help customers so maybe mistakes like this won’t happen

I ordered the the van for Saturday or Sunday pickup. When my daughter picked it up on Sunday she was told it was canceled??? Why ? We were lucky as someone was returning a truck. The girl who took the order also Quoted meet with different prices. She messed up!!! Not cool.

The West Springfield UHaul location is efficient and the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. My UBox experience was good overall but I think you could do a better job coordinating/scheduling the loading and unloading. I spent many hours on the phone with UHaul to schedule but there was always something wrong and the box not ready for me and in the wrong location. I asked to ship from Ballard, Seattle but I was notified that the box was in West Seattle. When I arrived my box was not ready to tow to my house even though I booked 2 weeks prior and I spent an hour waiting for an empty UBox. On the east coast end, I requested Northampton MA but my box stopped at W Springfield. Again the staff were not expecting me even though I spent multiple times calling UHaul to schedule the pick up. However, his location and the staff are great and they found my UBox quickly and could get me on the road to meet my moving help. Overall I recommend a much more streamlined process and especially regarding communication to schedule the loading and unloading, which should link to the specific locations.

Be more specific on where to drop off truck after rental. No idea where to park the truck to be checked in caused unneeded stress. No one available in lobby for 15+ minutes. Left truck where I thought would be appropriate. Check in person appeared out of nowhere and was troubled to assist — demanded I bring the truck to him/check in lane. Didn’t know there was a check in lane. The down pouring Rain didn’t help matters.

I got charged a sweeping fee when I personally cleaned the trailer myself and it was clean when I left it... I believe they are just trying to make money off me and I don’t like it and will call and complain this morning. Abusing the charges cause it was returned after they closed. Never use this location again.

First it took 2hrs for customer service to talk to me to reserve a truck (the staff is special ed). I put ALL THE GAS back in the truck up the street at Cumberland farms and was charged for extra miles. I went to the truck return before 7pm the door was locked. NOW your taking my WHOLE deposit. LIARS, AND THEVIES!!!!! I NEVER USED this COMPANY before and now I NEVER WILL AGAIN!!!!! I RATHER MOVE ON A HORSE AND CARRIAGE THEN F$@K WITH UHAUL. Please be advised that your return rental vehicle better be close to spotless or you will be assessed a cleaning charge, especially for one way rentals which franchise agencies hate. Forget the reasonable removal of all garbage, litter, and other raised debris....Bring a push broom with you to sweep dust out of the cargo hold area, otherwise you will be charged. Also, remove all dirt from the foot mats....normal dirt on them(not construction site dirt, mind you!) will also get you a charge. My return vehicle was checked, and the attendant never told me there would be a "cleaning charge"....I found after, when I received my e mail receipt that I was charged for cleaning. I could have been told at that time and given the opportunity to clean the truck myself, however, I don't travel with a push broom, or a rag and soap bucket for cleaning mats. I called the agency and spoke with the attendant. I wanted to give the business the chance to be fair about charging me, but I was told that I was contractually bound to clean the truck. Feels like a "racket" to me. I'm tired of saying "ok" and eating it!!! I'll be calling my credit card company to deny the charge of an invoice I never signed or saw until I received it in my email after leaving the agency.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND EMPLOYEES FRIENDLY AND FUN TO DEAL WITH. THIS IS A LARGE RENTAL OFFICE AND VERY BUSY BUT THINGS WENT SMOOTHLY AND NOT RUSHED. i HAD A RESERVATION AT AN OFFICE CLOSER TO ME THAT I'VE USED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE NIGHT BEFORE MY SCHEDULED PICKUP I RECEIVED A 6PM PHONE CALL FROM A "TRAFFIC REP" INFORMING ME MY RESERVATION HAD BEEN CANCELLED, NOT OFFERING A VERY CLEAR EXPLANATION AS TO WHY AND DID NOT OFFER TO HELP FIND ME ANOTHER TRUCK AROUND THE AREA. THE TRAFFIC REP SAID IN A NOT SO POLITE TONE THAT I MIGHT TRY ''BUDGET OR PENSKE''. THAT REALLY SURPRISED THE HELL OUT OF ME SUGGESTING A COMPETITOR. I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED MY UHAUL ACCT. AND IT NOW SHOWED THE RESERVATION HAD BEEN CANCELLED. i THEN CALLED RESERVATIONS AND SPOKE WITH A DELIGHTFUL UHAUL REP IN TENNESSEE WHO IMMEDIATELY FOUND ME A COMPARABLE TRUCK AVAILABLE AT ANOTHER LOCATION IN SPRINGFIELD MA ONLY A BIT FARTHER IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE PREVIOUS RENTAL OFFICE.

Long line. Booked a 10 foot over a month ago but was given a 15 foot way too big. Mng gave the AME price thank you but still too big. Needed to drop in Brooklyn had the exact address yet they booked a Manhattan drop? Brooklyn people were great they made room to take the truck they saved the day W Springfield did not honor any of the commitments

The location has a manager who is beyond unfriendly. He lacked people skills and communication skills. I had a minor problem with my rental in which I thought was resolved the night before. Only to wake up and find out I was overcharged. When I contacted the manager he had little to nothing to say to me. He was not polite nor courteous. I found him rude and did little or nothing to help me or rectify the situation.

I made a reservation for 9/1 at 9 am. Somehow, the reservation was changed to 11 am. When I arrived, I was informed there were no trucks available. The employee, who was very nice and courteous, agreed to call me as soon as a truck was available I had a reservation for a 10 foot truck, but only a 15 foot was available, which was more expensive, and I had to take that as I had no other choice. I think uhaul should have honored the rates on my reservation, as it was not my fault that the reservation was accepted and a 10 foot truck was not available aside from that, my reservation was for 4 hours. I received a call from another employee at that location asking when I was returning the truck more than 30 minutes before it was due back.

We got charged $7 for the utility dolly we didn’t use the dolly there was no tag when we got the truck then the first time we rented a uhaul you guys got the mileage wrong so we had to pay $100 for no reason. We would like a refund for the dolly we didn’t even use we went gonna pay $7 for nothing.

The girl renting was great I didn’t see the gas gauge was off because I was more concerned with all the unmarked damage to the truck When I left I took a picture of the mileage and correct reading when I returned it the person checking it in had an additude and told me to bad when I went to talk to the manager he made me wait 15 min while I watched him through the door window install a hitch He was not concerned with the poorly checked unit and incorrectly checked in the fuel level to decisive the next customer the blankets are deceiving too when you can’t read the fine print of daily rental not to mention the girl said if I don’t open the bag they won’t charge me the check in guy said to bad you took them you pay

Make sure that the gas tank is FULL at pickup. It's way iffy attempting to refill to 5/5ths of a tank of gas. If i drove in there with less than I left with, you guys would object. However, when I brought it back with 6/5ths of a tank, 1/5th more than at pickup, nobody offered to pay me for that.

Horrific service to have them delivered. I recommend against using the u boxes, and have trouble understanding how something marketed as being a convenient moving option could be so difficult.

Hi, I scheduled the ubox on Sep 3 10:00 AM but due to long weekend holiday it got moved to Sep 5th 5:00 PM. The Uhaul west springfield Manager was helpful to help me out the next day on the move.

You should have top bottom door latches not secure enough. Tie downs on the wall are to few and far between. Should be some high a d low also. Otherwise okay.

I would NOT recommend hiring the Uhaul movers. One man was very diligent, capable, and worked hard. The other man was pretty useless and occupied his time with doing as little as possible.
