If equipment available is not the same equipment or the same duration reserved, customers should be contacted by phone. If customers reserve and pay for a full day rental, threatening to charge extra if it is not returned in time to rent the truck to a second customer is borderline unconscionable, a poor practice, and probably a consumer protection violation. If the company offers online reservations and the manager informs customers that reserving online is “the wrong way,” one or both are terrible.

I wish that the clerk at the counter conveyed information more clearly. I was never told that if the guess was not replaced exactly that there would be additional fees aside from the fees for the gas itself. Wound up with quite an additional bill.

He was very good and , and fast, unfortionatly, If I rent again I would like to know... or at least mention the drop off time and the extra charges..It was impossible for me to drop at 7am the next day in another state, and wich I took with you as well ... Opend at 9am.. I ended up dropping off around 230.. Maybe I would of pick another time if i was given that information... Not a bad experience but with simple inf like that , I would make a better choice...

Honestly I’ll probably never use U-Haul again. The absolute insanity of problems that occur before you can even attempt to pick up a car trailer is enough to make you want to die. Three times in the last 6 months. Over it.

Upon arrival I was told my reserved trailer had been given away to someone else because I was 40” late. I was never told this was your policy when I reserved the trailer. A courtesy call, text or email from the local U-Haul would have been easy to do and appreciated. I was panicked! Clearly I would have reserved with a credit card if this was your policy. The employee was able to find a larger substitute trailer which cost me 60% more! My impression is shady dealings.... The trailer was too big and my furniture slid around.

Customer service was excellent, but the trailer I rented had a dirty floor and had pieces of cardboard in it. I never looked in it when it was hooked to my truck. Also when I got to the destination with my belongings in it, I noticed it was leaking in the trailer. Uhal needs to retire that trailer.

The man at the counter (no name tag) could have cared less about the customers who were lined up to the door. He definitely acted like we were a bother to him and he lacked any customer service skills. We arrived a half hour early and I'm glad we did as we stood in line waiting for 30minutes!! Why have a reservation if it means nothing, so we ended up being late to our appointment. My biggest issue is that we had to provide our license (that I understand), however he then pulled out his phone and took pictures of both sides and when I questioned this and explained I didn't want that done his response was that he doesn't even look at them as he has a million pictures of his 10 month old to look at. The point is identity theft is huge and I dont know of any company that does this, I can see looking at it but taking pictures on cell phones no way. When I called to discuss this I was blown off and it fell on deaf ears. There was also a gas issue which we clearly documented with pictures that showed the mileage that was on contract at the time we picked it up also with the time on the dash with the gas gauge so we could prove that it was not filled to the level they listed on the contract and we were to be credited for. I understand we should have gone right back in to explain but due to the customers lined up all the way to the door and having already waited for a half hour causing us to now be late we felt our proof was in our pictures and we were told that was ok and that we were being issued a credit which also did not happen. The only good aspect was that the pick up truck we rented was very nice, clean and did a great job. I will not rent from these people again and I will be sure to pass along to others why we will not recommend them. I urge you to look into this employee and possibly see if training can help but. Very disappointed.

The west Springfield location is nice and the employees were helpful however That is after 3 hours to finally rent a trailer after driving to 2 other locations and getting yanked around on the phone by other Uhaul employees that simply don’t care that they lied to you and cost you time and money.

I was very upset that my rental cost doubled because the only trailer available was a so called "one way". I literally dropped it off 4 miles from where I picked it up and was charged double. What is the point of this policy. Your staff was great but their hands were tied by this ridiculous policy. The worst part is, if I rent it again from the location IO dropped it off at, I will be charged double to return it to the place I originally picked it up. Does that make any sense whatsoever? Please get rid of this one way drop off policy unless you are porously trying to fleece money from your consumers. If your intent is to fleece your customers then I will be looking else where in the future for my needs.

Not rent out vehicles that have have a service light on already, and tell customer it's not one they have to worry about.... the stabilitrack service light was on. That doesn't always mean the feature isnt working, it can also means it's working improperly (engaging when it shouldnt).

I took pictures of the mileage and gas tank when receiving the van, and also when returning the van. I put gas in the van before returning it and made sure it matched up. The location attempted to charge me for gas. I had to make several calls and text the manager pictures for the manager to fix this issue. I should not have had to deal with this. I will probably use penske next time.
