Chane gave fantastic customer service while being completely efficient at his job. He got me isetup with a free month of storage and out the door with a truck for the day I had reserved online. His friendly personality made completing the transaction almost seamless. He explained everything well that I had no issues finding or entering the storage locker building. My only issue I had was when I went to go get a cart to use. There was one moving truck unloading or loading using almost every single cart available. They seemed to also be on some type of break or taking their time so their belongings just sat there on the carts the entire time we were there making them not available to any other customers. There was a single mattress cart to use which was only helpful for a few items.the rest we had to carry to the locker.Fadwa H.

I have rented from this location many mannnny times, therefore I have come to know the staff of this location well. Todays interaction prompted me to write a review. My rental experience with Chane was seamless and efficient. I was greeted just after walking in the door and everything was explained in detail. when I come to return the truck to the place where I picked the truck, no body was there and I could not found the key drop box. so I drop the truck to the place where I use to book the truck. but finally they have charge more than $300 as charges for dropping to a incorrect place. Bad days do happen. It is concerning that staff in the yard are untrained and possibly not suppose to drive. Today I witnessed a staff member hitting the side of the building in a company truck. The way he acted was as if he hadn't or was very inexperienced in driving. I reported Witnessing this to the operating staff. It is very concerning.Thomas R.
We rented a 26' U haul drove it to our shop parked it until a semi delivered our product. Our delivery truck was getting maintenance work completed. We went to back up the truck to the loading dock when my employee noticed that the inside tire was flat and that the tire was torn. Who returned it immediately unused and asked for a replacement truck. They refused and still charged us the rental fee. The truck was essentially unused and our shop is 2 kms away from the pick up point which means there was roughly 5 kms added to the trucks mileage. Unprofessional staff and a bunch of crooks honestly. Poor customer service and customer relations. To bad though, we rent a truck about twice a monthâ€¦.No more through U-Haul unless they reimburse us for the hassle and better train their staff who inspect the vehicles.David S.

Slow, unprofessional service. On a snowy day, the first truck i was given had a broken windshield wiper on the passenger side. There were 2 other trucks there the same size. The guy said they were reserved so i couldn't use one and they were going to try to fix the wiper (but they didn't seem very motivated). I asked for another truck and said i didn't have time to wait. Terrible experience. The truck was given to me with less than 1/4 tank of gas. And one of the wiper blades was not working (it was a snow storm so this was a concern). We asked for a different truck, and they could not provide one, which resulted us in waiting for this truck. We then needed to go get gas to ensure we could make our trip. Absolutely poor and scammer..Watch out cause I was charged with damage that we don't even made.they will check the vehicle 9 hours after you returned and there wa no post trip inspection before they will released the driver and after that they will call and say there's a damage on the vehicle..who knows what happened after that 9 hrs they released they released the driver saying it's good.Ireene S.
Wait time was excessive (45+ mins) to pick up my trailer. The whole premises is horribly disorganized and packed with vehicles and trailers everywhere leaving nowhere to park. Eventually was told to meet someone out back at the trailer I rented to have them hook it up and get me going. I waited further and nobody came so I hooked it up myself. Then as I was leaving a staff member chased me down because they needed a picture of the hitch setup. When I came back to return the trailer, I was told I had to go back in to get a refund because my bill was 68$ but they took 75$ off my card. So I had to go inside and wait in line for almost another half hour to get 6 bucks back. Stupid system, horribly inefficient. I have been to this location multiple times and it's always the same issues. Winterburn is much better but they don't have the same amount of inventory.Cody E.

worst fucking experience ever. not the clerk's fault at this location (he and sue were the only useful employees out of theâ€¦ five? six? waaay more than should have been necessary at any rate) but for a company whose entire business model is based on MOVING you fucked the dog in a major way and just will not fucking let up. Now i'm getting multiple calls from a field manager with an unknown number who's too goddamn stupid and new to figure out I screen?!?! or that- newsflash- maybe 6pm sunday on a MOVING day is not the ideal time to call someone SIX times in a row!?!! leave a voicemail ffs! And then trying to give me attitude when I point blank told him you all have wasted more than enough of my time today. Originally we were to drop off at the Kingsway Ave location. We arrive and we're told be gentleman that he can not take our drop off there was room in his lot it was not full. His costumer service was poor. Locations should confirm drop off location. As we spent an 1/2 looking for a place to take it and was finally told 154 St is big and will take it. Good thing we were returning early. I couldn't imagine what would happen if we drop off close to our return time.robert M.

For numerous reasons that I have expressed to your head office in point form and that I will be elaborating on with a Ms. Manning and a registered letter to your company ceo, I have Never had a more unprofessional experience in my life when dealing with a multinational company. I will most certainly be telling everyone I know to steer absolutely clear of the west end u-haul until there is a change in management and key staff. As far as resolving any dispute before leaving this comment, i do not wish to subject myself to the possibility of anymore unfounded accusations that when quickly shown to not be the case, no apology was given. In a lot literally full of trucks, they did not have a single Dolly of any kind whatsoever to rent me. But they had plenty to sell me. That is the most pathetic, and parasitic, situation I have ever been in with regards to a 'rental' company. Couple this with a manager that weeks prior accused me of being a month behind in rent, refused me entrance to storage to get proof I wasn't, then after I luckily found a copy of said missing receipt, offered no apology whatsoever for his blatantly unfounded and I might add exceedingly arrogant behavior. I sent many referrals there with the previous manager. But I can in no way refer anyone to this location now, as the new manager is as toxic and unprofessional as it gets. Stay clear.Robin S.

The beginning gas gauge measurement was inaccurate on the contract forcing me to add extra fuel when returning truck. Personal items from the last renter were left in cab. Otherwise a positive experience.Brian J.
My pickup location was changed without proper notice so this complicated things. I called Customer Service on Fri, Sept 30 when I realized this issued however they were unable to provide a credit to compensate me for additional travel miles and gas costs. The GM at the above location was made aware of this at time of pickup but was not able to cover these additional costs. After spending 2 hours on the phone on Sept 30th and several more hours of driving, etc I am frustrated that being proactive did not resolve this issue. I now have to file a complaint to Go U-Haul as requested by the GM at the above location.Wayne S.

Originally rented a 5 by 5 unit, but it was actually 5 by 4, then with the roll up door it was 4 by 4 so I needed to upgrade to a 5 by 10. Which again was only 9’ deep. The storage unit with exterior access was flooded during move-in in August. The staff, when called by me from BC, went out and roved a lot of water from the floor. I can only assume they helped her lay the orange tarp on the floor also. Most boxes were dry but underneath the tarp there was still plenty of water. Fortunately none of my belongings wete ruined but one box st the rear of the unit containing durable goods was falling apart from being soaked with ground water. Thankfully my stuff was removed before freeze up. The staff on move out were pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately I think I left my credit card behind and it was used for numerous food purchases and attempted online purchases which were reversed before I checked my online account and cancelled the card. Or there’s a possibility that another customer took my credit card. They terminated my unit 1043 uhaul west Edmonton because of my son and told us we had to be out by June16 2022. Which we did and now are try to get me to pay July rents . I believe I owe nothing . I was told how to enter access codes. Not told how to open the main sliding door to push the dollys in and out. No insurance was spoken about but was checked off on my paperwork. There is no light in the storage unit. Had to provide information for a third party not residing at my address for security purposes. Which makes no sense. It would be my husband who would be the next person to contact if I can’t be reached not a friend. Maria, a staff member working in the units, was exceptional! In addition to being an extremely friendly person, Maria assisted us when we realized that the unit we had reserved was going to be too small. Maria sourced a larger unit for us and took care of all of the requirements to facilitate the change. This was of course over and above her normal duties. The road in/out was never plowed. Deep groves of ice and snow for my small car to drive around. It did not appear ice melt was ever put down. Slippped and fell at one point. A very large truck was parked on the ramp on my move out and I asked if it could be removed. It was not. I had 2 units, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor, the outdoor I had more access as in later access. The indoor your only allowed till 5pm, which sucks when you have a lot of stuff. I moved in, in the fall, I moved out in Dec. 24 during a deep freeze. My outside unit was frozen shut, they did put ice melt on it, but it took over an hour for them to use a pick axe and open the door. My movers had to sit and wait. The prices differ between which uhaul you go to, seems individual owners set their own prices. I used west end edm, they were more reasonable than other locations. I don’t expect all experiences to be bad, but it was not good. They couldn’t find my reservation so we had to do a new one. They were going to give me a smaller unit than I wanted. I was told before I got there that the 2nd floor was drive up and it was not. And it took about 45 minutes in the office to set this all up. I have worked with this Uhaul location in the past. Never had a problem or grievous. The young and older people are very helpful when asked with questions they can be useful with. There is a woman, a short large woman who makes not only customer's lives difficult but the employee's life as well. I believe she is a cancer to this site and to the company as a whole.
